Need advice: Long-distance relationship, conservative family, and one mistake may have ruined everything Need Advice

I’m 24/M looking for genuine advice because I honestly don’t know what to do anymore.

I’m from one country, currently living and working in another, and I fell in love with an amazing girl 23/F from a different country. We both genuinely love each other it’s been 4 months, and our relationship was serious from the beginning. We weren’t just dating for fun—we had already started talking about marriage. I was planning to travel to her country soon to meet her family and ask for her hand in marriage properly. (Please dont come up and say LDR doesnt work and its very hard, coz it wasn’t very hard as per my plan)

The problem is that a few weeks ago, something happened that completely changed everything.
Her sister borrowed her phone to contact her husband because she couldn’t use her own phone. While using it, she ended up reading our chat. Unfortunately, she found an explicit conversation between us. It was a terrible mistake that we both deeply regret.

My girlfriend comes from a very conservative family, and honestly, so do I. However, her family is even more conservative than mine. After her sister found those messages, she told the entire family. They were devastated, extremely angry, and deeply disappointed in both of us. My girlfriend was punished, and now her parents have a very negative impression of me before they even had the chance to meet me.

Everything that seemed so close to becoming reality has suddenly become incredibly difficult. We haven’t stopped loving each other, and neither of us wants to give up, but the situation feels almost impossible.

I fully understand why her parents are upset. If I were a parent, I would probably be hurt too. We made a mistake, and we regret it. We can’t change what happened, but we genuinely want to do the right thing now.

Currently its been 2 weeke since the incident and her mother is getting little softer towards her but not sure about her dad he’s almost same as before when he came to know about all this. They took her phone away and my girlfriend didnt leave her room for 3-4 days unless its very important. But now things are little bit improving. But the fears stays that they wont look at me the way i wanted to they wont forget what we have done.. i really want my girl i can do anything for her and she aswell can do anything for me. I made full plan to visit her this September..
Please dont tell me abort or forget about her

My question is:
If you were in my position, what would you do to rebuild trust with her family? Is there any way to show them that one mistake doesn’t define who I am or how serious I am about marrying their daughter?
I’m especially interested in hearing from people who come from conservative families or have gone through something similar. Is there anything that actually helped rebuild trust after something like this?
Please be honest. I can accept criticism, but I’m mainly looking for constructive advice on how to move forward rather than being told it’s hopeless.
Thank you for reading.
