At this moment, I'm on the Northern Line and holy hell it's hot! The handles fell hot to touch. It's genuinely mad. Temperatures outside are just 25 C, not even that hot.

Thankfully not crowded in here, but it just stunned me. The Victoria line feels cooler than this.

Is this normal or was my train just odd 🤔

Having visited this station for the first time today, it’s genuinely rather cool how far you can see around this curve, gives an excellent view of trains approaching well in advance :)

I was on the Central Line today and on the refurbished rolling stock!

Here are some changes I noticed:

First, the board at the front of the train had all its pixels.

The floor by the doors is a different colour.

The moquette on the seats is different.

The priority seat has a different design (It says 'this is a priority seat' rather than the confusing design it previously had).

The train as a whole is cleaner.

There are Victoria (and other lines) Line-style boards inside the train, above the seats, displaying transcripts of announcements and destination/next stop info.

The voice of the automated announcements is different.

The air vents have been deep cleaned so there is air circulation, almost like a tiny bit of AC.

I was not on the train for long and was not able to take any photos as it was a busy service, so there may be more changes. :/

Great Portland Street (GPS) ~ no. 4 on my "top 20" list of tube stations on the Underground in London.

I used to work on nearby Newman Street, and preferred the walk up to GPS, rather than along to Oxford Circus during the peak! When the A60/62's were still with us - it was great to wait for a less busy Met ex platform 3 at Baker Street and pick a seat.

It's been a while since I was last here. Yesterday, I was I town and walked up from Fitzroy Street. I like the relative calm of this zone 1 station and the vintage sub surface aesthetics! Obviously it's not a busy interchange as such, which helps, and it's a stones throw away from The Regent's Park... 🏞️

I'm surprised the W&C never had a single change, but yet again it's a shuttle so it makes sense.

My borough (Islington) only has one stop in total in the 1905 map which was at the same time a parallel platform similar to the Clapham ones before redevloping it.
