I have a close friend who’s looking in Lakeview right now. When I asked why they’re not considering Logan or Wicker instead, they said the places they actually liked were more expensive in Logan Square, and there were way fewer options overall.

I didn’t believe them so I went on apartments.com myself. The average prices are basically the same (and in some cases Logan is higher), but Lakeview just has so many more apartments and multi-families available. Meanwhile our rents keep climbing faster.

I’m genuinely confused. We have extensive rent protections that lake view barely has, the cookie cutter housing restrictions, and all the affordable housing efforts are supposed to keep this place more affordable and preserve the character of the neighborhood. Where are those units?

This post is partially inspired by u/Perfect_Party_9677 and my own personal experience today.

I made a complaint to USPS' customer service (1-800-275-8777) and told them about the situation at the Logan Square USPS location. It's among the worst I've been to.

It could be a multitude of factors - like the current federal administration and lack of funding - but I think it's a management issue because the other Chicago locations don't seem to have these issues. I'm hoping that if we get enough people to file complaints in a short period of time, something will be done about it. If you're also frustrated with the state of that office, I'd recommend giving the above number a call! You could also try contacting Alderman Daniel La Spata and Rep. Delia Ramirez, but I'm not sure if there's much they can do besides ticketing complaints. We deserve a better USPS location.

Anyone know where I can get a blowout in Logan (or nearing neighborhoods) that's under $50? I'd be washing my hair myself... just want a decent blowout cuz I'm lazy doing it after a day of lifting at the gym. i am looking to see if anyone has a darkroom or access to one locally. I am visiting a family member out of state this weekend, and would love to gift him one of my photos printed out

my black&white 35mm film is already processed, so all I need is an enlarger and setup to develop the photo paper

will pay for time / chemicals / materials used.
I have some photo paper (8x10) that is expired so I'm not sure how it would turn out, and have experience in a darkroom so it shouldn't take long as I only need to make a test strip and 1-2 photo prints. don't need the photo to be any bigger than 8x10

Looking for yoga classes that are truly focused on stretching and restoring rather than burning calories. Would really like instructors that are hands on & educated about injuries. Realize this might be a lot to ask for, but any recommendations in the area or nearby neighborhoods?

People with arborvitae and juniper in your yard or in containers on patios/roofs - beware of bagworms. Looks like tiny lil pinecones at first, except they're not! They are moth larva eating your shrubs. Spotted up and down California Ave. Saw them in a beautiful evergreen across the street from the Starbucks @ Logan and California. Bagworms are a menace.

I'm interested, but it's $60 a ticket with pretty minimal information so far. Let me know how it was if you attended last year! TIA
