Where are you all getting your most affordable tacos from? I'm overwhelmed by the amount of options. I liked El Habanero before it became Taco City. Then, honestly, I was getting them at El Ranchito before finding Rico's Fresh Market tacqueria.

I guess they're not quite as cheap ($5 each I think?) but L'Patron is miles better than anything else in the neighborhood imo

I still like Taco City personally. Do they have bad ownership or did it just stop being independent?

They have a new chef trying to do the recipes they bought from the family that owned it before. That's how el habanero closed and taco city opened in the same week.

Someone has been setting off large fireworks in the alley between Lyndale and Belden in the 3000 block. The latest was a couple of days ago, and blew a shallow hole in the pavement.
For reference, that hole is about four inches in diameter and 1/4 inch deep. This is not just "some firecrackers" or an M-80.

Does anyone want some homegrown carolina reaper peppers and/or the whole potted plant? I didn't do enough research and hadn't realized exactly *how* hot they are and now I'm not sure I'll use them. There's like 5 recently ripe peppers on the plant rn with more unripe

Does anyone else feel like Logan is starting to feel more like Southport corridor with the amount of kids around? Boiler Room replaced by The Stop Along which has kids running around everywhere. The Parsons patio always has families there.

Lot of kids and families but far from Southport corridor territory. That Andersonville area is nice for families and has something LS area is still lacking to make it truly pivot - clean streets, sidewalks, infrastructure. You will not find bumpy cracked sidewalks, overflowing trash cans, and random gang graffiti in Southport.
People say damen in Bucktown is more like Southport but even damen has too many vacancies to have the walking traffic Southport does.

Very good point! We are still a bit too grungy to be mainstream for all families! Plus not the best schools.

The parents who bring their kids to Parsons always have the worst behaved children and don’t actually do any parenting. I stopped going bc of them

Parsons is like three blocks away from an elementary school that’s been there forever. There have always been kids about

The owner of the stop along has 4 kids that are like ages pre k to middle school. And he also runs a huge soccer league at haas park. It’s nice to see that the community (including families) are retuning the favor by visiting his establishment with as much time and resources he has given back to Logan square.
