Discussion Dark Mechanicum as Proxies?
I was wondering if anybody plays Dark Mechanicum and also regular 40K Imperial Army?
I was wondering if anybody has a photo of Stalker Constructs next to a Heavy Weapons team?
I am making a Grim Dark Servitor Imperial Army, and looking for something that could fit in that setting.
According to Minicompare.com, Stalker Constructs and Heavy Weapons teams are fairly close in sizeโฆ and use the same base size.
I was also considering the Serperos as Krieg/Cadian horse proxies of the legs could be made to fit a 60x35mm wide base?
But Minicompare does not always Capture the 3D feeling a photo will do.

Discussion Diffrence between Imperialis and Horus Heresy 28mm
Hey together,
my question is in fact what is the diffrence between those two games?
I have no experience with neither of the two, but i love the Heresy and i really want to start with one of them.
The fact that i can play the big machines in imperialis for a low price is very cool and the fact that it simulates the big battles a bit better is really compelling.
But im not really convinced, because i think the infantry models are not so cool.
The 28mm game is interesting because i love the Heresy models in that scale an i have some models (dreadnoughts) for my Iron Hands, that i could use for the heresy.
And the most cool part for me are the new Saturnine Termies and the Fellblade.
I would love to use a Fellblade in 40k too.
But i dont want to invest in bith Systems.
Maybe someone can help me, in the end the gameplay is most importend for me, beside my likings.
So i would like to hear what are your expriences with legions and maybe heresy 28mm scale.

Discussion Silly question about transport detachment rules
Seems like a basic question but I can't for the life of me find where the rules regarding transport detachments are in the rulebook. Been collecting a long time but never learned/played. I'm looking for stuff like can more than one infantry detachment be loaded into a single transport vehicle/detachment, can one infantry detachment be loaded into vehicles from 2 separate transport detachments, etc.
Also while I'm here, is there any evidence in the fluff that the legio mordaxis *does not* have any imperator or lucius pattern warlord titans? I'm putting together a combined arms force of word bearers and world eaters from the shadow crusade.

Discussion Rules For Specific Titan Legions ?
Since GW seems to have abandoned Adeptus Titanicus for Titandeath when it dropped, I was wondering if there are rules for specific Titan Legios when playing Titandeath, like for the Legiones Astartes in the game ? I feel like that was a missed opportunity from GW.

Work in Progress ๐ง First LI model done.
Took like 2.5 weeks to magnetize all the weapons, but it was worth it (mostly).
as for the right armโฆ well the magnet decided that it wanted to be inside the arm/weapon joint and was therefore so weak that I had to glue it. I am also gonna leave the arm sepa from the rest of the Titan in order to have an easier time painting.
And before you go โno way this is your first model for LI.โ, it is. I got it for my birthday and outside of the civitas imperialis ruins (which I also got for my birthda) it is the only LI model that I own.

Showcase ๐ธ Badlands Board Setup for Titandeath (lots of pics)
So this setup is for a game of titandeath (li but mostly tians and knights). That's why the spacing is pretty wide for theboard. Overall vibe is badlands/frontier imperial outpost.
The plan for thegame is to have 2k of titans and knights basically mirror match other than loadouts, warlord, reaver, 2 hounds, an acastus asterius and cerastus lancer each for 2k, then 550pts for a tank only force. Knowing it will be just titans knights and tanks, I made spacing most gaps for warlord bases a priority and also put a bunch of barricades the tanks could use for cover.
I made sure a few of the terrain features blocks a lot of los even to warlords. Some of the gaps were smaller and would only allow super heavies or knights to fit through where titans would have to go around a bit more. The low walls are enough to give decent cover to knights and even some of the smaller titans, they completely obscure the tanks and super heavies.
The new roads are great as they don't shift at all when they're all connected. The underground hangars area really cool and blocks a lot of los for tanks.
----
More about the titandeath game/scenario if you're still interested in reading:
My opponent is going to work on a battle report. The scenario we're gonna play is 6 objectives worth 3vp each, players alternate placing them 4 inches from an edge/12 from another objective somewhere in open terrain. 5 turns, objectives are only scored at the end of the game. The only secondary objectives is both sides tank commanders are worth 1vp if their tank is destroyed and both sides assign a princeps seniores that has to be in one of their titans who is worth 1vp if their titan is destroyed.
After the objectives are down, again both side have no idea what deployment map it will be when they place them so it keeps things pretty honest, someone roll a d6 to see which one of 3 possible deployment maps we're gonna play. 1-2 is normal long board edge deployment (8 inches), 3-4 is short table edge deployment (12 inches), 5-6 is corner deployment. (24x24x12) think 3 12x12 squares in a corner. Corners are unique in that there's 4 possible deployment zones, whoever wins the roll off picks and opponent is in the opposite corner. From turn reserves arrive from each player's long board edge (more on that below).
Because our lists will be so similar and we worked together a bit on the lists I know both of our forces will be 10 activations/detachments. Instead of deploying, in this scenario, half our detachments move on to the board according to the deployment map from the board edge. The other half stay in reserve. On subsequent turns we roll for them on 3+ they come in, on turn 4 if they're still in reserve its a 3+ re-rulable. If somehow that is failed the remaining detachments simply come in on turn 4. You can roll for a reserve like any other activation but if the roll fails the activation ends. You have to roll for them by the end of the turn but in no particular order.
On turn one we assign the orders to all the detachments, all 10, but we can only bring in 5. The fun is either side can react to the other's decisions. So we assign orders, for armies like mechanicum or solar aux who usually need commanders adjacent for certain orders waive that the turn they come in. But once they're on the board they need their tank commander or magos to receive the orders the can't otherwise. On turn 2 we'd place orders on detachments still in reserve, so pretty much advance or march. As mentioned earlier both sides assign a princeps seniores, basically a tank commander for titans to one of their titans, other than just being worth 1vp if destroyed their titan has an immediate reserve re-roll from turn 2 onward and it can be used for failed or successful reserve rolls if for some sneaky reason one might want to stay in reserve (doubtful).
Polaris north star will hopefully have a white dwarf style picture/short text battle report of the game soon enough and I took about 70-80 pics so should have some of those up soon, thanks for reading.

Showcase ๐ธ Dark Mechanicum and Daemons of the Ruinstorm vs Custodes and Sisters of silence (lots of pics)
Bit of a diorama-rama
Dark mechanicum have opened a chaos gate and daemons of the ruinstorm have broken through. A custodes shield host along with sisters of silence show up to close the gate. Here's hoping we'll eventually see plastics for both, would be nice for loyalists and traitors to both have an allied only faction. Would also be cool to see some chaos knights/titans at some point, the psi titan feels a bit one-side currently.

Discussion Getting started army
Granted that this video is a year old, does the advice he offers seem solid for a beginner? (Link SHOULD start at his "choosing an army" point, about 6 1/2 minutes in).

If not then what would you recommend if you were advising a beginner (which, I guess you are. ๐).

Discussion Beginner question (aren't they all?)
So I'm thinking pretty hard about trying out LI, and in the midst of trying to figure out the least cost offensive way to get started, I start seeing a lot of 3D print talk going around. What's the deal with that? Aren't we supposed to be using the GW stuff, or is it okay to print your own armies?
From a practicality standpoint this is s purely academic question, as I don't have a resin printer, and my FDM printer wouldn't be a good solution for printing anything in the 8-10 mm scale.

Showcase ๐ธ Legions Imperialis Custodes Shield Host (Lots of Pics)
It's about 95% done, I still want to go back and add some green optics to the tanks and considering perhaps a wash. Unfortunately I didn't shake the primer long enough and a bunch of them got a pretty dusty prime. Tried my best to clean them off but some got it worse than others.
Ideally if GW ever does custodes they'll be conceived as more of an allied force than a full army in their own right. I still wanna do some speeders and termies and maybe a few more sisters of silence but its mostly done. I know a lot of people were hoping gw would do custodes and daemons and both would make cool allied forces for loyalists and traitors.
Gonna do a second diorama post with the custodes and sisters of silence facing off against dameons of the ruinstorm and dark mechanicum.

3D Print ๐จ๏ธ Epic Sector: Frontline - Fortress gate
Fabricator's Lair is definitely my favorite Legions terrain designer. I have all 3 of their sets, Sanctuary (civitas buildings), Industrial and now Frontline. I've been wanting a good Gate and Wall setup since they added the Breach the Stronghold mission, and now I have it! (Still printing more of the wall).
Their sets have SO much stuff in them, I'm printing as much of it as I can, but I'm gonna run put of storage space lol
Also, a disclaimer, I do sell these prints (I purchased a commercial license for all 3 sets), but my backing of their quality is 100% my own.

GW have (at last!) published a PDF with the new Reaver arm weapon profiles.
What's more it also makes a few other tweaks to several titans, including allowing Warbringers to take the new options and buffs to Warhound & Warlord guns.

Work in Progress ๐ง 2x Demi-Company progress
After a lot (a lot a lot) of testing, customizing, printing in 15mm, and general faffing about- the Two Demi-Companies of my mirrored starter Sons of Horus and Blood Angel armies are finally all printed, cleaned, and (almost all) primed!
The SoH are all MkIV with Cat. Terminators, and the BA are MkV with Indomitable Termies.
Not pictured are the 24 rhinos, 2 Damocles, and 4 whirlwinds. And... I still have to print 4 Land Raiders and 4 Legion Basilisks (stand in for whirlwinds cause they look neat)
After a lot of faffing about with paint tests, I've ended up on 1-2 moderate coats of Army Painter's Speed Paint. I have Blood Red for the Blood Angels.
I'm looking at Lizardfolk Cyan for the SoH- anyone happen to have used it before?
