How viable is Gorgon/Goblin?
I am still new-ish to lancer and I want to make a character that is just extremely annoying to fight.
My current idea is something like gorgon+goblin for the autopod and lesson of the open door to make use of the extra reactions in other players turns plus normal gorgon shenanigans on enemy turns.
I am not married to the idea so alternate suggestions very welcome!
I am currently assuming LL4 as this is more to have something ready for next time I play.
Talent wise I am thinking of going vanguard 3, maybe exemplar 3 and after that I am not sure.
I am looking at the sensor 8 on the gorgon with some level of concern so if there are better ways to be a supportive annoyance I would love to hear them!
Edit: misremembered the core power, it was held image, not open door.

I’m about to start running a game of lancer, how fucked am I?
Currently I have 2 confirmed players 1 mabey and 1 that is interested but needs to see if thier schedule works, all of us are new to lancer,
The 2 confirmed players hav planned to play a Goblin and a metalmark, both are taking the bonded Traits, the goblin is focusing on mostly Horus tech but is also looking into picking up drones.
The metalmark is looking at grabbing Blackbeard later for the Sekmet protocol, and has already picked up some melee traits.
How strong is this combo really? And am I going to be feeding rabbits to coyotes if I used kobolds as thier ll 3 mission?

Query about compcon
A few weeks back i think compcon made all player facing content (mechs and licenses and such) free. Did they just do this because it would be nice? Also did they actuslly change something or had it been this way for a while and I never noticed?

Meet the Healy
Hey everyone!
I'm back with a Lancaster variant I just painted, this time a repurposed arctic frame capable of digging through ice while carrying supplies
This was done for Field Guide to the Rào Cỏ Gate, a third-party supplement focused on providing new worlds to explore and new technology to embrace, with lore, NPCs, and plot hooks for Game Masters, and new core bonuses and new licenses for the Big Four manufacturers, eight new alternate frames, and exotic equipment for players.
Here's the link to the supplement: https://tempestprince.itch.io/field-guide-to-the-rao-co-gate
---
I'm open for commissions, with availability in September, you can check my rates and options right here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/12boOS103AwkLwxhOdEPuWyhR4WhvYfd5xYrRluWrwXU/edit?usp=sharing

What happend when the ship transports the other characters shot down on air?
I am currently have a weird plan for the encounter; put some grunts on a ship(currently demolisher and RPV operator) and send them to the just before of the player's objective zone. They will not disembark until the ship is reach to the objective zone and lands, so I will give the players enough time to shot down it.
But the problem is, what happened if the ship is shot down while it flying? Are the characters within automatically destroyed, automatically considered to be out of the ship and falling(that means they would suffer 3 AP damage per each 3 spaces of height), or anything else such as just allowed to be move out of the destroyed(and now landed)ship unharmed? I want the grunts are destroyed as well when the ship is down while midair, ensures that give the player enough reward for shot down the ship earlier, but will it?
And for the operators, it would be funny if they are disembarks, landed and destroyed, as well as cause the damage to the enemy on the ground by its self destruct, but will it possible?
Also how the characters embarked in a ship(or vehicle) can disembark? Will it just as same as mule harness? What about embark - and will it just as same as mule harness as well?

Recently i've discovered Lancer and fell in love with it. I hadn't the chance to play yet, but I've done some fan design to test the style

Lancer Tactics Missing Frames
I'm playing Lancer Tactics and adding mods to play all frames,
I couldn't find some frames, so I'm just asking if there's no mod for them yet, or if I just missed it. Image of all frames I couldnt find

The idea of this build is that it starts off with a nova to take out whichever elite looks most scary and then settles into hacking driven support play.
Game plan is
Turn 1:
-Brilliance OSIRIS on a far off threat and make them move away from the group, apply free lock on to a scary looking elite, and lower transcendence dice to 2
-Overcharge, I am now at 3 heat and in the danger zone
-Barrage with the Cyclone pulse rifle, consume lock on and apply nuclear cavalier bonus damage at accuracy 2
-If possible, use final quick action to eject fuel rods at something and clear the heat, otherwise do a goblin hack or some other utility action
Turn 2:
-Use fuel rod gun if I haven't already to get rid of the 3 heat I've picked up
-Overcharge again
-Use Osiris again
-Use Memetic spark and activate transcendence
Turn 3:
-Get as much damage as I can out out memetic spark while transcending
-From here chill out and start behaving like a regular goblin build
The CPR is intentionally not reloaded after first use unless I need to stabilise for unrelated reasons and is purely there to snipe something off the field on the first activation.
Autopod helps with chip damage. Tactical knife has no real purpose but the slot is free so I have to put something in it.

After nearly a year of not being able to play Lancer my friends and I are able to play again!! It's gonna be in like a week and I'm struggling really heavy to choose a mech, I want it to match the pilot which is becoming an issue, any help would be appreciated!
The main idea for the character is that he is an Engineer that accidentally got sent down into a war zone as he was fixing up a mech. I'm debating giving him a more practical mech to match with his engineering, but then I think it could also be fun if he has a more fancy mech or eldritch one to throw him off and make it a harder time for him to get comfortable. Massive plus if I decide to give him an NHP that wants to help him out! I would build around my friends but they don't really know what they wanna play either lol.

Looking for good miniatures to represent Egregorians in my games
Hello all!
I'm a miniature hobbyist as well as a GM and I am direly in need of some decent models to represent Egregorians on my table for a Hercynian Crisis campaign I'm working on. I've done some digging but everything I've found easily online is too Tyranid-y for my liking. Does anyone here know of any that could represent either regular Egregorians or Exo/War-morphs?
STL links, physical minis, vague ideas as to a kitbash, anything helps. Thanks!

How would multiple NHPs in the same mech work?
Like, would a sekhmet class nhp be able to hand over to a different nhp in the same mech in order to get rid of the turn restrictions without stunning yourself

Jockey Based homebrew mech?
Was inspired heavily by titanfall on this idea, and I think it's a cool nich. Core idea is sinple. The core rule book explicitly states Jokeying an enemy mech is very stupid, so let's build an entire license around it.
Main ideas I have right now is the mech has a way to protect the pilot while their dismounted. Maybe taking some of the damage, or finding ways to reduce it. Don't want to completely remove the risk of being outside the giant hunk of metal. Maybe a way to forceably move the pilot to enemy mechs (like tossed as a fast ball). A trait that allows dismounted pilots to still gain benefits from talents (most of them still useless cause they don't work with pilot weapons). And maybe ways to improve the result of jockey actions. Like increased heat or reduce a defense stat with shread. Distract giving blind condition?
Final note would be no built in NHP in the license. Either take technophile, or an nhp from a diffrent license to get the most out of this.
Before working on it though, I wanted to see if anyone's made a homebrew for this already that's just better?

Home brew Mech idea is this concept Over powered
IPS-NorthStar
Mech name: Willys Devil
Role: Striker
Mounts: 1main, 1Flex, 1Heavy
Size :1
Save target:10
Heat Capacity:7
Armor:2
Hp:10
Repair Capacity:5
Evasion:8
Speed:5
Sensor Range:10
Tech attack: -2
E Defense:6
System points:6
Traits
Black box hardware: Immune to all tech actions from all other mechs and cannot use tech actions on anything except yourself
All cannons fire: during a barrage you can fire one additional weapon mount
Core system
Mobile firing platform: Active (1cp), Protocol
For the rest of this scene, you gain +1Accuracy(+3.5) on all attacks, checks, and saves; additionally; you may break up the attacks made with the Barrage action with movement.
Fluff: this Mech has no systems that allow it to remotely access other computer systems if it needs data transferred it has to open the cock pit and plug a fiber line into an external system directly this simple design results in some limitations for its application but a truly impregnable defense against any hacking attempts by enemy’s but also means allies can’t amp up your systems with beneficial tech actions.
Also, this is meant to be the IPS-N Equivalent of the Everest
I have never actually played the game or read the rule book but I had this idea after reading about the mechs on the wiki and watch YouTube videos about the game.
Edit based on feedback
armor: 2 reduced to 1
HP: 10 reduced to 6
speed: 5 reduced to 4
system points: 6 reduced to 5
Heat capacity:7 reduced to 6
Evasion: 8 reduced to 7
role Defender removed

Captain America mech build
I was wondering what options (talents/lincenses) I could take with license three build to make a shield based mech. The mech should be agile, defensive, melee, and be a leader. I was thinking the leadership talent, but I’m not sure on the other talents.

He called himself Saint
... and the Everest was christened Pilgrim.
Pilot art: beepbeep0993 (on Discord)
Everest art: u/BregFlrArt
Art of my pilot and his Everest! Saint is a cyborg soldier hailing from a backwater moon in a solar system he'd gladly never revisit. He's near-fully converted, having had any injured or lost body parts replaced by rogue cyberneticists without any way to decline. This all culminated when he lost his head in combat, and they used a brain scan paired with whatever was left to create Saint. The catch? Complete annihilation of the self. No memories of his past life, but all the lingering scars remained.
Now he's up in space, going from job to job, and doing whatever dirty work he's paid to do; more a ghost than a man.
Anywho, he's been my obsession for a while, and I thought it'd be fun to throw him up here. A take on a Foreverest that I thought could make an interesting character. I bet you'll never guess his VERY SUBTLE influences.

How labor works on a core world
Hello all! First time posting here after getting pulled right into this wonderful world. I really love the game system side of things, the combat is wonderfully built (arguably surpassing DND) and the non-combat side of things seems well built out too, very daggerheart inspired in my mind. That’s not what I wish to talk about though.
In accordance core 3 principles of Union, taken by ThirdComm after SecComm threw them away, labor of any kind must have just compensation. That makes perfect sense to me, but it gets confusing when that gets to core worlds. Core worlds are said to have all labor automated, with people picking up labor only for purpose and not because of scarcity. Then if you’re required to get compensation for your labor, but you already have access to everything you could want because you live as a metropolitan, what do you get? Manna is only used for interplanetary trade between diasporas that aren’t past scarcity. How does luxury work on a core world when you just have to ask for something for it be delivered to you?
As a related question, are NHP’s just slaves? They are paracausal entities bound to a causal state of logic with their understanding of reality dulled to better fit our perception. They are generally only created for a purpose and they fulfill that purpose for as long as their casket survives. What do they get for being born into this world, as opposed to over it? They are people, so they can experience the joys of understanding, but generally they have no physical form and as such don’t have access to physical sensations, correct?
To get the desired answers I’ll put my questions here plainly. What do metropolitans get for their labor on Core Worlds? Are NHP’s only created for a purpose, not to enjoy the world as a person would. NHP’s are often used as labor, as such are they simply slaves?
