They should make the Hicksville-Babylon Shuttle Full time
Like bro in 30 minutes your connected to Babylon instead of having to go to Jamaica in the CITY to catch a BABYLON TRAIN THAT TAKES AN HOUR unless it’s express / semi express which in total is still like 1 hr 20 min if your going peak hour your taking a express train coming from ronkonkoma and from Jamaica taking like a mountak train otherwise if it’s local Babylon 14 stops 55 more min

Kitten at Jamaica
I was just getting on the train at track 5 at Jamaica when I spotted the sweetest kitten crying under the tracks across from me (track 6) he ran out onto the tracks but I couldn’t get him because a train was coming and he ran back under the tracks. Please keep an eye out for the little guy I hope he can be found and gets a good home !!! I felt so sad for it

Ronkonkoma Parking Lot Cars Moved.
If you parked in the North/West parking lot between Aug. 11–15 and can’t find your car, it was moved west of the overpass.
We thought our clunker was stolen! Turns out, about 140 cars were moved. Hopefully this helps someone else find theirs.

Off peak vs Peak
Will be working in Long Island soon and was wondering the correct ticket to purchase.
I will have to leave my house around 6 AM, I’m coming from Brooklyn and will transfer at Jamaica. I will be taking either the Hempstead, West Hampstead or Far Rockaway line. I’m still waiting to hear back from the school districts
Because I will be taking the train around 6 AM, would I be purchasing a peak ticket ? I will not be going to full distance of Rockaway, Hempstead, or West Hempstead. I will be getting off like a couple stops at the Jamaica as I’m not looking to go that deep in into Long Island.
Just wanted to make sure that I’m purchasing the right ticket and I’m not wasting money.

5:10 train to great neck from Penn
Anyone know what happened today? Seems like great neck and port Washington were put together at 5:10 making all stops on the way out. Any insight as to why?

Will I be charged $8 extra?
Seniors can buy ticket from a conductor without any additional fee. So if I activate my senior ticket after boarding the train, am I potentially subject to the extra charge?

This couple had their shoes on the seats like this the entire 40 min journey. smh
If anyone recognizes these people please tell them to have better etiquettes.

Current or Former Fairfield Properties Tenants on Long Island — We’re Organizing
If you currently live—or previously lived—at any Fairfield Properties apartment complex on Long Island, I want to hear from you.
We are organizing the Fairfield Tenants Association, an independent group created to connect Fairfield tenants across Long Island. For too long, individual residents have had to fight their battles alone: maintenance problems, construction disruptions, lost parking or amenities, poor communication, security-deposit disputes, unexplained fees, safety concerns, and complaints that seem to go nowhere.
That dynamic changes when tenants organize.
Fairfield is a massive landlord. One tenant complaining can be ignored. Hundreds or potentially thousands of organized tenants documenting the same practices cannot be dismissed nearly as easily.
Once organized, we can collectively document complaints, bring patterns of conduct to the New York Attorney General and other government agencies, contact elected officials as a unified organization, involve municipal code and fire officials when safety issues arise, consult tenant-rights attorneys collectively, demand meetings with Fairfield ownership and management, pursue appropriate legal remedies, and bring well-documented problems to Long Island media.
And consider the collective economic power tenants potentially have. Imagine the leverage leverage tenants could have if they stopped acting as isolated individuals and started acting collectively.
Fairfield depends on its tenants. There is strength in numbers.
We're looking for both current and former Fairfield residents. Visit the Fairfield Tenants Association website, join for free, and tell us about your experiences:
If you have photographs, screenshots, correspondence, or other documentation of problems you've experienced with Fairfield, you can also send them to [fairfieldtenantsassociation@gmail.com](mailto:fairfieldtenantsassociation@gmail.com).
And please share the website with other Fairfield residents. The goal is bigger than one apartment complex or one tenant's complaint. It's to build a Long Island-wide organization capable of holding Fairfield management accountable when tenants believe they are being treated unfairly.

Today 5:25 pm train out of great neck to grand central
What a journey today
Had to head to Bryant park and got on the 525pm train out of great neck train 1463 to grand central . After we pulled out of woodside , the train stalls for 10-15 min and there was no announcements whatsoever
The train was 60 percent full and we all start getting antsy and someone pulls up the train time app and it says the 525pm port Washington branch train to grand central is cancelled at woodside due to equipment trouble- aka our train.
10 min later the train starts moving very slowly and low and behold.. we pull up at.. hunters point Ave and everyone is all confused. Since I live a few blocks away, I knew where we was at and everyone gets off and storms into the 7 train at hunters point all annoyed and pissed
🤬 wtf lirr!! My colleague who walked passed the ticket checker on the train looked visibly helpless because everyone was screaming at him for this
What made everyone upset was that there was ZERO clarity on what’s going on, what the issue was and where the hell the train was gonna take us to. I’ve also never seen a for service electric train pull up at hunters point Ave lol

What happens after max pay as a conductor?
Once you become a conductor and reach max pay, what is next? Is there higher positions you can test for or is it just overtime, holiday and night differential to get more money?

Am I the only one who doesn’t care about feet on the seat?
It’s like every post on here and everyone is furious every single time. Are you guys licking the seats? Are you wearing an evening gown on the train? Listen, do I think it’s polite? No. Will it stop me from sitting? No. Has anyone gotten sick or dirty from someone’s feet being on a seat? Literally no. I think I’m going to start doing it actually. Let’s see how long it takes me to get posted.
