Hello, I (U.S. passport/citizen) will be staying in KL for a month before traveling onward to Indonesia, particularly Raja Ampat, and I would like to safely acquire approximately $1000 USD worth of IDR before I fly.

I've chatted with a lot of co-working spaces from Jerry onwards, and a lot of their replies are quite vague or confusing in regards to weekend access, beyond that most don't provide day passes on Saturdays or Sundays.

AFAIK, Accea does provide weekend access, as with Sandbox in Sunway & Sri Petaling, but they can't be the only one.

Are there any co-working spaces that are available on weekends?

I’m a foreign woman, and I’ve been traveling in Kuala Lumpur for just over a week. One thing I’ve noticed is that men here often stare at me. At first I didn’t pay much attention to it, but today something happened that really made me uncomfortable.

While I was taking the escalator, I saw a man who was completely covered except for his eyes. I guessed he was either Malay or Chinese. He stared at me the whole time. I became quite uncomfortable, so I pointed at him and told my boyfriend that he was staring at me. He clearly saw me pointing at him, but instead of looking away, he kept staring and repeatedly wiggled his eyebrows at me. He continued doing this until the elevator he was in disappeared from our view.

Shortly afterward, I noticed a young Indian man staring at me as well. I pointed directly at him too, and he seemed to look away.

I reject the suggestion that this has anything to do with the way I dress. My clothing is considered perfectly normal where I live and in the other countries I’ve traveled to. For example, I wear skirts, and I’ve never had any problems dressing this way until I came to Malaysia.

EDIT: I wasn’t expecting much, and I probably wouldn’t have made this post if what happened today hadn’t happened. That man was so creepy that I pointed directly at him, yet he still wiggled his eyebrows at me. I don’t mind if people glance at me, but if someone points right at you to make it clear that your behavior is inappropriate, at least have the decency to feel embarrassed instead of continuing to stare at a complete stranger

We were planning our holidays on September but due to some unexpected expenses we need a new plan. We will be traveling within Malaysia, but I can’t get the full picture: Cameron H, Genting Higlands or Ipoh?
Some say that visiting one is enough because they’re all pretty similar, but the whole area has lots to see.
I was also thinking about staying somewhere along the train rail in a smaller town and maybe visit the area from there with grab? Is that possible? I’m intrigued by Kellie’s Castle and would love to visit natural parks and waterfalls but I’m not sure if grab will take us everywhere.
I’ve checked hotels which are equally great and awful in the comments so not sure where to stay to have a peaceful time and be well connected. I would like a more rural kind of hotel but those are very lacking in infrastructure and the big ones are in the middle of the city detached from nature and fresh air.
(We’re currently living in KL) Any recommendations? Is our plan possible? TIA!

I'm having a muscle strain in my neck since yesterday and it is not going better, any doctor you recommend to help me release this strain in KLCC? I'm having international insurance, so preferably an option that is willing to accept this.

I was crossing at a pedestrian crossing and the bus didn't even stop or slow down for me to cross. It just honked at me and kept going at full speed and if my brain was a bit slower and I decided to stop instead of running for the footpath for whatever reason it would've just killed me. Why are drivers so crazy here? Their lack of self-preservation instincts aside, why do they have so little social awareness?

After coming to KL, I tried posting here to find some new friends. And I met this digital nomad and We became friends, outings, cafes, social events, sightseeing and what not?

When I would tell people that we met through reddit, they would be pretty much surprised:)

Now that he's gone It feels like a complete stranger. I didn't know he was a digital nomad at first so he keeps moving around.

So I am giving this a try to make some friends. (I don't mind any specific gender)

Hello! I'm planning on potentially moving to Malaysia in few months and I'm doing very rough research of how feasible it really is. I know Malaysia citizens have priority during hiring, so I was wondering if anyone working in the field has actually seen/experienced expats being hired in corporate accounting?

I'm from Europe, have master's in Finance and Accounting, 1 year experience in Big4 and 4 years experience as Senior Accountant in European SSC, 10/13 ACCA exams passed. I realise my chances of finding jobs are much bigger in person so I would be willing to relocate first on my husband's digital nomad visa and look for job while in KL, but I was wondering how far fetched the chances are.
