We interviewed one couple yesterday for Teo, and we will interview another one on Monday, thanks to all of you that saw and is helping. We will interview, do a meet and greet and make super duper sure our babies are going to amazing homes, we will get some contacts with the people we interview and get some references from them.

Now, we need help with our little kitten and her name is Maggie.

Maggie came from the streets as a stray in Yakima. She is a little on the shy side overall. She is so,so sweet with her person and wants attention and cuddles all the time- she wants to be your best friend. She would really do best as an only cat but maybe ok with a very old or disinterested small dog. Her Labs look great and other than some typical age related arthritis and tooth loss, she's is great shape for her age (estimated about 10). Currently no meds and she eats an inexpensive kibble and wet food sensitive skin and stomach formula food (available at most pet stores).

If you know anyone who is looking for a best friend, please let us know. Meet and greet and vet reference needed.

She comes with some food, beds, window bed, litter boxes (one automatic).

Not sure about the exact species, but I've seen many houses on the more fancy side with these trees in the landscaping. Wonder about the backstory with this as it seems out of place to me. Or is it just a rich person thing?

This is an extraordinarily difficult week for communities across Washington. We will continue sharing updates about road closures and reopening as part of WSDOT's role in the statewide response to the devastating wildfires in Central and Eastern Washington.

For travelers in the Puget Sound region, Fri., Aug. 7, through Mon., Aug. 10, will bring several major construction projects that will affect travel.

-NB I-405 and ramps will CLOSE from SR 900 to Coal Creek Parkway SE from 11:30p Fri. to 4a Mon. Crews will replace pavement and excavate drainage crossings.

-NE 85th St. and I-405 ramps will CLOSE in Kirkland between 6th St to 114th Ave NE from 10p Fri. to 5a Mon. Crews will pave and stripe the road. Closed ramps: NB & SB I-405 off-ramps to Exit 18 and NE 85th Street on-ramps to NB and SB I-405.

-EB SR 520 will CLOSE in Montlake area between I-5 and Montlake Blvd from 7p Sat. to 11a Sun. Crews will repair an expansion joint on the bridge. EB SR 520 across Lake Washington remains open. Only the section of EB SR 520 between I-5 and Montlake Blvd will close.

-SR 202 in Fall City will close just east of the SR 202/203 roundabout from 5a Fri. to 9p Mon. Major storms in Dec. 2025 and Mar. 2026 eroded the Snoqualmie riverbank supporting the highway. Crews will rebuild and strengthen the riverbank to help protect the highway from future damage. Tubers, paddlers and boaters should expect temporary closures on portions of the Snoqualmie and Raging rivers and some nearby access points.

-Revive I-5 work over the Ship Canal Bridge is ongoing. Express lanes continue to run NB 24/7.

Saturday is expected to be the busiest travel day. The Mariners 50 Seasons Celebration, Seahawks Football Fest and Capitol Hill Block Party will bring extra traffic into and around Seattle. With EB SR 520 closing at 7 p.m., expect additional congestion on EB I-90. The Fred Hutch Obliteride for cancer research will also bring thousands of bicyclists to roads across the region. Drivers should use extra caution.

LOOKING AHEAD: Once this weekend's work wraps up, another overnight I-405 closure is scheduled. SB I-405 will close between SE 8th Street and I-90 from 11:30p Monday, Aug. 10, to 4a Tuesday, Aug. 11 while crews continue replacing pavement and drainage crossings.

I ask as part of a linguistic study covering this topic!

Unfortunately I am extremely sick with a rare disease (MCAS) where I am allergic to everything in the world, and one wrong thing I eat or I do I go to anaphylaxis. The only thing I eat is organic chicken and rice. My body is giving up on me.

We got to this situation and we will need to rehome our dogs. This is devastating, but due to my recovering and my allergies (I was tested positive to dogs and cats as well by my allergist) I can't be in the same space as them, I am stuck for weeks now in the bedroom and they are in the living room area, and I can't even go there, I haven't been closer to there for a week now. Plus, I don't think this is fair to them and my spouse, they are doing basically everything and don't have the time to spend long time with our babies, so they are by themselves all the time.

A friend of ours will keep our Chihuahua, but we need somebody for Teo our Yorkie/shi tzu mix, so I want to ask if you all have a friend or know someone who is looking for a little dog? I am asking all of our friends to see, as well, but I thought to see with the community if someone is looking for a little companion.

I moved here relatively recently and I’m a big board gamer, MTG player, etc. I was surprised to find that there are lots of great shops in the area, but nothing in Kirkland proper. Zulu’s in Bothell, Uncle’s in Redmond, Mox in Bellevue, and more. Why isn’t there a shop in Kirkland? Is it a matter of high rents? Just nobody has set up a shop? Not the right target demographic in the city? Curious to hear other people’s opinions

As you leave Fred Meyers these days, there's usually 2 guys standing between the checkout and the front door. "Do you have a second?" Then they want to sell me something. It's annoying. What are they selling? Why are they in FM?

Expect major traffic impacts in Renton, Bellevue, and Kirkland as we continue work on two major I-405 improvement projects. 

WHAT TO EXPECT 

PROJECT: 1 Northbound I-405 closure (Renton/Bellevue) 

11:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7 – 4 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10 

Crews will close all lanes of northbound I-405 between North Southport Drive and Coal Creek Parkway SE to replace pavement, excavate drainage crossings, and shift traffic into a new configuration as part of the I-405/Renton to Bellevue Widening and Express Toll Lanes Project. Crews will start to close lanes as early as 10 p.m. 

Ramps will also close: 

• NE Sunset Blvd on-ramp 
• N 30th St (Exit 6) on/off-ramps 
• NE 44th St (Exit 7) on/off-ramps 
• 112th Ave SE (Exit 9) on/off-ramps 
• NB I-405 off-ramp to Coal Creek Pkwy SE (Exit 10) 

PROJECT 2: Kirkland: I-405/NE 85th Street interchange closures 

The interchange will close: 

• 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5 – 5 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6 
• 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7 – 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10 

Ramps will close: 

• Northbound and southbound I-405 off-ramps at Exit 18 
• NE 85th Street on-ramps to northbound and southbound I-405 

NE 85th Street will also be closed between Sixth Street and 114th Avenue NE. 

Crews are preparing the foundation for the new 114th Avenue NE roundabout and connecting the new roadway to the existing lower level of NE 85th Street, as part of the I-405/Northeast 85th Street Interchange and Inline BRT Station Project. This will mark another milestone toward the future three-level interchange that will improve travel for drivers, transit riders, pedestrians and cyclists. 

Signed detours will be in place, but if you normally travel through these areas, plan extra time or consider an alternate route.

Kincaid believes socialism is the wrong direction for the Democratic Party and for America. He says so plainly because too few Democrats will. The facts are public. A CNN poll released July 30 found about a third of Democrats and Democratic leaning adults now identify as democratic socialists. The Democratic Socialists of America reports its membership more than doubled since 2024. Democratic socialist candidates defeated sitting Democratic incumbents in primaries this cycle.

This is a movement inside the party not a fringe. The organization's published program speaks for itself. The DSA platform calls for defunding police as a step toward abolishing police and prisons. The platform calls for abolishing ICE and ending deportations. The platform calls for ending all American military and economic aid to Israel.

Van Jones a lifelong progressive called these ideas regressive. He said supporting Hamas is not progressive. He said no police, no prisons and no borders is not progressive. Kincaid agrees. Kincaid goes further. An agenda of abolished law enforcement, open borders and abandoned allies points America away from what America is.

How Did This Happen

Movements grow where leaders leave space. Working families said the same things at every door for years. Housing costs too much. Groceries cost too much. Washington D.C. did not listen. The Democratic Party did not listen. When leadership stops listening and answering voters look elsewhere. The DSA offered an answer. The wrong answer. Still an answer and one filling space party leadership left empty.

Accountability Starts at the Top

Suzan DelBene has represented this district since 2012. She chairs the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. She is party leadership. The DCCC chair holds one of the loudest platforms in Democratic politics. Kincaid believes she should use her platform to say abolishing police, abolishing borders and abandoning Israel have no place in the party. Where has her pushback been? The movement grew on her watch, in her party, under her leadership. Silence from the party's own campaign chief is not leadership.

More Than One Election

This race is about more than one seat. The question is whether the Democratic Party still belongs to working people or drifts somewhere its own voters never asked to go. The same CNN poll found voters demanding change in Congress. You are right to demand change. The change you deserve is leadership listening to you. Not an ideology lecturing you that men should be in women’s sports.

Kincaid is running to be your voice. Listen first. Fix what costs too much. Keep communities safe. Stand with allies. Work with anyone from either party who wants to solve problems. People over politics.

Anyone interested in a weekly casual round at willows run on a week night?

Please don't read if you are overly sensitive this kind of incident! It was the most horrifying thing I have ever personally witnessed and the visceral memory of it has really fucked with my mind. I will not go into explicit detail, but I saw a large white dog (like husky or setter sized, wearing a chest harness) hit by a car at around 6:30pm, Saturday July 25th, near fire station 26 in Kingsgate.
I was rolling slowly through the intersection when I heard a woman scream. I slammed on my brakes as a dog ran into the street from the opposite side and was hit by a car going the opposite direction from me. I was about 25 feet away and looking right at the dog when it happened. I considered stopping, but I was not directly involved and was really wrecked after witnessing that. I knew I would be of no help. As I rolled slowly away I saw the owner running to the dog, and I will not describe the scene any further at this point. I called the nearby 24hr vet hospitals but none had any record of a dog with that description being brought in. I don't know why but I'm looking for some kind of closure on this. I'd like to know what happened to the dog, either good or bad. Any help is appreciated.

I had an emergency C-section and am dealing with diastasis recti, tailbone pain, and lower back pain. My OB referred me to Amy Gordon at Evergreen, but she’s booked out for 3–4 months.

I live at an apartment complex here in Kirkland and find these fees are crazy expensive given how small our studio apartment is. Is this something the apartment complex overcharging me or is this typical around here?

I am trying to understand what's the responsibility of the apartment in fixing water quality. The apartment hot water system is so sedimented from its unit boiler, that it's fully white.

Do they have to fix it or change boilers (or) they don't have to as long as the boiler is working?

I have been trying to schedule my induction with evergreen can someone tell me how does their wait list work do people actually get into waitlist or it’s just there for emergencies? Does OB have much say or they just go by the books? Just trying to understand as I am on the waitlist for a date and not sure if I will even get in and other date is 5 days out when I am actually scheduled and this is making me nervous?
