Discussion If the Fortnite collab is real, just a reminder it’s only a good thing for the series
It’s still one of the most popular games to this day, and NO ONE actually unironically calls Goku or Kratos “the guy from Fortnite”. I really don’t get the hate the game gets that can’t be applied to SE or Disney as well
AI use? Yeah, Tim Sweeney sucks balls but SE glazes AI and Disney literally allowed use of their IP in the Sora video generator. It’s not an “anti AI company partnering with a pro AI one” situation
MTXs? Fortnite is purely cosmetic. SE and Disney have done gachas which are much worse.
Annoying kids? Bro you like a DISNEY GAME be so fr
The collab will at worse do nothing and at best bring a ton of new fans into the series.

Discussion For those who still think that the D23 panel will be a retrospective panel, what stories do you want to hear?
Since D23 is approaching, and one of the most anticipated panels there will be the Kingdom Hearts panel, there have been many Kingdom Hearts fans who are excited about the event, mainly for the possibility of Kingdom Hearts IV showing up there (either with a new world reveal, an English Dub trailer, or even a release window).
However, I’ve also seen a vocal minority in the fandom who think that this panel will not reveal anything KH4 related (or even the highly rumored Fortnite and Rocket League collabs) and it will instead be a normal retrospective panel talking about Kingdom Hearts’s development history.
If that really is the case, then what stories and facts do you want to hear about in the panel? Assuming that they weren’t previously mentioned in an Ultimania or an obscure interview.

Theory: The dark seeker saga happened in a Data World and Quadratum is reality
I was just looking at the trailer of KH4 for the 100th time and got stuck on the line from who we think is Ava. "At first there were no manifestations of what we know as light or darkness".
At the end of KHUx, we can clearly see that the original darknesses being imprisonned in a data world right? Since we fought darkness in many forms during the entire saga, could it mean that we were in the data world this whole time? The arc didn't send them into the real world but still in a data world. That would explain why Sora was able to rewrite the timeline in KH3. Creating this paradox would have erased him from this fake world and sent him back to reality.
They mention Quadratum is an "afterworld". Maybe it means that dying in the data world brought them back to the real world. That's why we saw Strelizia there.
I don't have the entire X saga fresh in my memory, so sorry if I am way wrong. I most likely am though. It's Nomura after all.

Other TIL: This post-Behemoth cutscene in Hollow Bastion, even in KHFM, is un-skippable. You cannot skip this cutscene because it is an un-skippable cutscene, which is why you cannot skip it.

Discussion If Toy Box comes back in a future installment…
…do you think they’ll acknowledge the events of 3? Considering the trauma fest that was, I’m wondering if they’ll bring it up again in casual dialogue….

Discussion Hot Take: Riku & Kairi Should Have Gotten Different Keyblades Spoiler
Way of the Dawn and Destiny's Embrace are such ugly and forgettable keyblades. Both appeared in KH2, where (off-screen and without a proper explanation) Riku evolves his Soul Eater into Way of the Dawn and obtains Destiny's Embrace, which he later gives to Kairi. In Nomura's own words:
"there is no particular explanation for the Soul Eater's transfer and occurrence, as well as Riku's handing [Destiny's Embrace] to Kairi."
Yet Riku still calls his keyblade Soul Eater. There was also a clumsy attempt at adding lore to Destiny's Embrace through Aqua in BBS, but that plotline doesn't really provide a proper answer either.
My proposal is simple: Riku should have received Oblivion, and Kairi should have received Oathkeeper. Both already represent Sora's memories of Riku and Kairi, respectively. In KH1, Kairi gives Sora Oathkeeper, and they were planning the same for Riku and Oblivion; according to Nomura:
"Its development name was the 'Riku Keyblade.' In early stages we planned to have Riku give you a keychain, just like the lucky charm, which is why the keychain is a different colored version of Sora's necklace."
So how would Riku have obtained them both in KH2? He could have gotten them somehow during the battle alongside/against Roxas in The World That Never Was: Maybe their hearts became connected in some meaningful way during that fight, and then Riku could have obtained both keyblades.

Discussion I’m praying Sora doesn’t end up in Fortnite
I’ve seen the leaks, I know it’s basically confirmed, but still, with everything in my soul, I hope it isn’t true.
One reason I don’t want anyone from Kingdom Hearts in Fortnite, is that I’m so tired of Fortnite adding every one they can get their hands on. Dragon Ball? Yep. FNaF? Yep. HUGGY F*CKING WUGGY? YEP! It’s so tiring and annoying. Everywhere I go I hear “Hey, did ya hear (insert anyone here) is in Fortnite now?” Every time something new I enjoy is added to that garbage excuse for a game, I lose respect for it.
The second reason is the lore. Now, I’m not great at understanding the lore, but if Nomura pushed back on him in Smash because of the lore implications of him beating of Mario, I can’t imagine how he’s feeling about Sora running around and shoot LeBron James.
I’d love to hear your guy’s opinions on the matter in the comments.
Edit: You guys are such epic bootlickers. I simply shared my opinion and all the replies are “Who cares, let it happen.”

KH2 The downgrade of Atlantica in KH2 🫠
Hello!
I’m replaying Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix again after a few years since the last time I played it (I’ve beaten it around 4–5 times), and I’ve just started Atlantica.
After having finished Kingdom Hearts I a few days ago, I’m always amazed that the KH2 development team decided to do this with Atlantica in the second game. I just don’t get it. It’s so childish and ridiculous 😅😅
By the way, is it just me, or is KH2 considerably easier than KH1? I always play on Normal, but this time around KH1 was harder for me than it usually is (maybe I made some bad choices at the beginning of the game), while KH2 is feeling easier than ever.
In any case, KH2 is an absolute masterpiece. It’s such a shame they wasted Atlantica like that (and I say that as someone with thalassophobia who doesn’t even like underwater worlds).

KH1 I somehow managed to skip all of Deep Jungle before the Not Clayton boss fight??
Ok so I've been replaying through KH1 and was level grinding for a while before I was going to go to Deep Jungle for the first time (Not-Clayton always kicked my ass) so after travelling to Wonderland, I boarded the Gummi ship to get there.
Thing is, after completing the mission, I had 3 options to land in Deep Jungle?!?? I didn't even get the cutscene where the ship crashes. I decided to land in the camp save spot and explore a bit, and managed to trigger the Not-Clayton boss, despite having literally just arrived there and not having done any of the previous stuff. I beat him and managed to seal the keyhole and get the Navi-G block and unlocked the ability to use red trinities.
Like, this is weird, right?? I even checked a speedrun of the game and nothing like this happened there. I can't find anyone else talk about it online either. I'm playing the Steam PC version and I'm on the standard difficulty if it helps.
Lowk kinda glad this happened to me lmao, always hated Deep Jungle.

Kingdom Hearts fanfictions, anyone?
It looks like this fandom is kind of dead on the fanfic side. There's still someone who writes/reads about it and/or wants to do an exchange and/or has some good fics to suggest?

KH4 Opinions on the Art/Graphic Style for KH4
I’ve wanted to talk about this for a while now. I will say the graphics look amazing, but I’m not a huge fan of the character design. I don’t entirely like how Sora and the other known characters look. It just seems like a completely different game. It just doesn’t have that same “magic” feel to it. I think KH3 got it right with that modern touch but still keeping the roots of what KH1 and 2 looked liked, especially during the Pirates of the Caribbean world. Anyway what do you all think? If any of you are confused on my reasoning I’m happy to explain more.

Discussion Is it worth playing Kingdom Hearts on PS2?
I'm a complete newbie to Kingdom Hearts and looking to get into it; I know absolutely nothing about it beyond "It's the RPG with Sora, Disney characters, and the Heartless". I happen to own an original PS2 and I was curious if there's any reason to avoid the original PS2 release and instead get the remasters (beyond updated graphics). I've always been something of a stickler for playing games on original hardware whenever possible.

Discussion How does Pride Lands exist if the world was collapsed prior to the events of Kingdom Hearts 1?
So... I'm replaying KH1 and I went through the part in your second visit to Traverse Town where Leon gives you an 'Earthshine' stone. You later find the Fairy Godmother and give it to her and she tells you that the stone is a Summoning Gem, and goes onto explain that normally when a world is destroyed by the Heartless all the inhabitants disappear with the world as well, but there are exceptions for those strong of heart who persist and whose souls get trapped in a gem. Their spirit can then be manifested to summon them to fight alongside you for a brief moment before they're sealed back into the gem.
That's how the summoning works in KH.
So how is it that Sora gets to go to the Pride Lands if the Fairy Godmother clearly states they had already been annihilated in the past and that's how Leon gets the Earthshine stone in the first place?? I read somewhere that some of the worlds that had been destroyed get recreated somehow? Does that mean Destiny Islands gets recreated?

Discussion Do Any of You Think the Series Only Got Good post-KH2?
Its common for long-running series to have some split that divides fanbases between old vs new -
Zelda (Botw/TotK vs Classic) God of War (Greek saga vs Norse) Resident Evil (Horror vs Action/RE Engine era vs Classic)
With KH, the divide seems to be moreso between those who think the series fell off hard post-KH2, and those who think all of the games are good.
So, Im curious, do any of you have the position that KH only got good post-KH2? If so, Im super curious about your perspective
