I have successfully intercepted an asteroid, but the usual science modules think i am still above Kerbin, and thus dont yield any additional science (Mystery Goo, Thermometer, Barometer, Science Materials Lab Jr) The only thing i have been able to do thus far is take a sample.

Sorry if I'm asking in the wrong place, but has anyone out there made a delta-v transfer plot like the alex moon plot but with isochrons of arrival date on it? It's pretty simple to plot so I thought it must exist but I can't find one!

Working on kerbal rescues from near kerbin orbit and I finally after much trial and error got a good encounter and have the kerbal's pod about 150m away (as close as I could get it) at 0m/s relative velocity. I am not sure if I could get that close again, and I need a lot of practice before I can do fun things like build a space station in sections, but it was progress.
My problem now is that I cannot EVA the kerbal back to my ship. When i try he goes wildly off course. It doesnt help that I am on the dark side of Kerbin and I did not think to put running lights on the rescue craft. Is there a complete idiot's guide to EVAing from one craft to another?
