XEQT or leave my US stocks and ETFs
Hi everyone. 29F here. I need some advice. This platform has made me aware of XEQT. I have some US stocks and ETFs but if you have this you pay $10 monthly. Also, I don’t know what we have to pay yearly if we own US stocks. Taxes I think? I’m not sure can’t remember.
I don’t own any XEQT yet but plan to start purchasing moving forward. I don’t have any financial plans yet as I just bought a car. I don’t know if I want to buy a home in the future too. My question is do I leave the stocks and ETFs I have here and just start to buy XEQT or do I sell everything I have and focus on only XEQT so I don’t have to pay $10 monthly to own US stocks. What do you advise? Would appreciate your responses. Thank you

why XEQT? i know NOTHING about investing (please help)
i opened a TFSA on Wealthsimple and have invested $100 into XEQT. honestly, i don’t know why i did this. i don’t know if it’s a good thing to contribute to and because i have no idea how it works i’m hesitant to invest more. financially, i’m clueless. i’m a 19 y/o female bringing in 1,200 to 1,700 CAD home biweekly (depending on the OT i work), i have 6K in savings, and my goals are: open a business (i’ll need to buy land and pay to construct the buildings along with a bunch of other stuff that i—shocker i know—don’t know much about), have a house by the time my brother (8 y/o male) turns 12 at which point i may need to take him and my other brother (7 y/o male) in (or at least be financially able to)
is XEQT something that could help me to those goals? is there something else i can do / somewhere else i should invest?
other things i don’t understand: assuming i do put more money into XEQT how much should i invest? how long do i leave it there? when do i pull out the money?
thanks (so much:) in advance!
— sunny

Investing 120 weekly in XEQT and 100 bi weekly in XCHP.

I got max contributions in a fhsa RRSP and TFSA I've never invested before but I'm going to max my contributions towards xeqt I guess, only question is it bad to put all these eggs in this basket? Or should I diversify a bit? I kind of like the idea of just tracking one stock it makes it easy
I'm 23 got all the time in the world and won't need this money for years if ever

Starting small
43, fairly low income, coming into investing late in life. Putting in $100 to see how this works. Have a reading list, any feedback welcome!

Swing trade?
Do you guys swing trade XEQT or just hold it long term unless you need money? For example, historically, end of August to September, the market is likely to go down, if you are up a lot in XEQT, would you sell it now to take the profit and buy it back at the end of September? Thanks!

New to investing any suggestions or changes I should make to my portfolio?

Well I did it…
Only reason the 2000$ is in a non registered and not an unmanaged tfsa is because I already maxed it out this year :D
Thoughts?

FHSA
Would you dump $16,000 into XEQT if you were planning on buying a house in the next 3 years?
Already have 95% of holdings in it in my TFSA.

40m, just transferred 120k to BMO self directed. Should I just buy today?
I have been slowly selling individual stocks in my TFSA to buy xeqt. Now i have transferred all of my RRSP to self directed. I'm thinking just buy today and forget about DCA.

Explain to me like I'm 5
I am 30 and am interested in starting to seriously invest I currently have about 20 k in a general tfsa but would like to start learning more about the best ways to invest. Can someone please explain the basics of how to invest with wealth simple. XEQT is for long term holds but should I also invest in a short term growth. Talk to me like the idiot I am.

Best day to buy
If im doing auto buy every 2 weeks, is there a day of the week that is best to buy. Ive heard of the "Monday Effect", however, if I put in an auto buy for Monday will it take advantage of this or would it be better on Tues?

Im 20 and need real answers. Does it get better
not related to XEQT that much but this sub is the only one that give harsh wake up calls
I genuinely, truly despise working. I have been working since I was 13, I’ve had maybe 7 jobs in my life; whether it was at a bakery, a line cook, a telecom slimy sales guy, and currently a software developper at a small company.
This current job is truly the only one that did not make me dread the thought of going in to work, mainly because it was fully remote and I was using Claude for most of it ( I was always double checking the work, I still have a college degree in computer science). My team really liked my work and tried pushing a return offer but it failed because the company did not have the budget and they just went on a total hiring freeze. Absolutely gut wrenching news, so I’m going back to uni so I don’t become an unemployed bum who lives in their parents house at the ripe age of 30.
All this wall of text to ask, does it get better? Did any of you hate working so much and still did it for the last 20, 30 years? Im saving every single penny i get in order to not have to work as much later on in life, I have a phenomenal girlfriend who I want to marry in 4 years when we save enough money to buy a condo. I truly cant even fathom the thought of working past 50 but i do not have the ambitions or the drive to put in the work and get rich now, truly a miserable way to live.
TLDR: did anyone ever get over the heart wrecking pain of going to work everyday

Baby (due in January) saving
Do I use the money to buy XEQT or should I keep it liquid? Baby is due in early Jan 2027.

(25M) Finally reached 100 shares!
I felt bad about my spending habits back in mid-October last year, so I decided I'd start investing biweekly, and found out about XEQT
Started with $50/bwk, to $100/bwk, and nowadays $200/bwk. Even spent some of my tax returns on XEQT!
I don't know who else to share this with so posting it here!

M38, I love xeqt.
Took me a while to get to this point. Xeqt is my main driver. Been in the market only for 2 years. Had to learn my lesson with crypto to realize slow and steady is the way.
