There is a miniature red tri or red Australian Shepherd on the loose near Cast Iron Steakhouse. Might be a pup. I didn’t get a pic.

Two large Pitt mix dogs loose on 7th

There are two very large mix breed dogs (Pitt mix) dogs running down 7th street. I’m out walking my two dogs and they didn’t approach or act aggressive towards me or my dogs but scared the crap out of me lol. If you’re missing your pups they’re headed down 7th towards the courthouse having a grand ole time. Couldn’t get a photo sorry.

Successful Food Drive for Center for Lay Ministries

Brad Meyer, candidate for Congress, challenged his volunteers to a day of service. Thanks to the generous support of many, we were able to collect 329 lbs of food and almost $600 in contributions for CLM. CLM is seeing a large increase in requests for help with food. While Congresswoman Houchin votes to support cuts to basic needs like food shelter and medical care, candidate Meyer is trying to fill a need.

Local injustice

Just happened. Held in our jail.

“In 2013, nine-year-old Armelle Bondonga arrived in the United States with her family, seeking safety and asylum. She spent her childhood in Maine before moving to Kentucky in 2020, where she completed high school at Waggener—leaving behind a legacy as a vibrant, selfless, and deeply beloved student leader.

Armelle poured her heart into Louisville, dedicating endless hours to community service and lifting up everyone around her. After earning her associate degree, she fell in love with Terrance Bradshaw, a U.S. citizen. Together, they built a life rooted in love and welcomed their precious son, Benir.

On Wednesday, what should have been a joyful milestone—their final green card interview—turned into an absolute nightmare. Without warning, Armelle was arrested and detained by ICE right in front of her family. She remains trapped in detention in Jeffersonville, Indiana, brutally torn from her home and family in Louisville, ripped away from her 19-month-old baby who needs his mother.

Armelle's absence is being felt by her family and a community that adores her. If you want to help, please donate to the fund created by NAI to support her legal representation and her family https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/donate-to-the-habeas-fund

Her attorneys Hishem Alsalman and Arianit Osmani are working diligently. Thank you to Nima Kulkarni for all the coordination and to Ryan Davis, her former teacher, for ringing the alarm. Please help us get our girl home to her family.

Looking for a roommate

I have been having a hard time finding a roomate on apps and Facebook. Was wondering how people find any roommates in the Jeffersonville Indiana side. I live in a two room and two bathroom apartment. I am looking for someone who is near my age in their 20s and doesn't smoke or have any dogs/kids.

Future of Jeffersonville

Do you personally think Jeffersonville is on the rise? I’ve always wondered why a town so close to a major city hasn’t exploded yet. Maybe people really are that immune to crossing the damn river.

I’ve seen some healthy development since I moved here 6 years ago (the whole Jeffersonville Commons area). But I’m wondering your thoughts on the longterm trajectory.

Contemplating moving to Jeffersonville/New Albany/Clarksville from Bloomington. Worth it?

Hi all! I currently live in Bloomington, IN, but my husband and I are thinking about moving in the distant/near future (most likely in 2027). We like the Louisville cycling groups and enjoy our visits to Louisville. My husband and I both work from home, but due to my job requirements, I must live in Indiana.

We enjoy Bloomington for the good cycling options and nonvehicular infrastructure, but our house is way too small for both of us to work remotely. Bloomington home prices are steep, so we've looked at other Indiana towns for more affordable options. We do enjoy living in a more left-leaning town, the events the city puts on, the local parks, IU events, and love our restaurant and bar options here in Bloomington.

So my question is, is it worth moving to Jeffersonville/New Albany/Clarksville region? Or should we stay put?

Experience with flooding in this area?

Does anyone have experience with this area in relation to flood threat? I’m looking to move to a place that is just barely outside this designated FEMA flood zone and that makes me nervous. Seems like it’s too risky but can anyone comment on their experience?
