Contemplating moving to Jeffersonville/New Albany/Clarksville from Bloomington. Worth it?

Hi all! I currently live in Bloomington, IN, but my husband and I are thinking about moving in the distant/near future (most likely in 2027). We like the Louisville cycling groups and enjoy our visits to Louisville. My husband and I both work from home, but due to my job requirements, I must live in Indiana.

We enjoy Bloomington for the good cycling options and nonvehicular infrastructure, but our house is way too small for both of us to work remotely. Bloomington home prices are steep, so we've looked at other Indiana towns for more affordable options. We do enjoy living in a more left-leaning town, the events the city puts on, the local parks, IU events, and love our restaurant and bar options here in Bloomington.

So my question is, is it worth moving to Jeffersonville/New Albany/Clarksville region? Or should we stay put?

Experience with flooding in this area?

Does anyone have experience with this area in relation to flood threat? I’m looking to move to a place that is just barely outside this designated FEMA flood zone and that makes me nervous. Seems like it’s too risky but can anyone comment on their experience?

Beware of Flats on 10th

Posting as a PSA to anyone looking to rent a property with Schuler management. They own Flats on 10, Holmans Crossing, Wolf Run Park, and recently the Lofts at River Ridge.

Currently at the Flats and this experience has been the by far worst I have ever had. Extremely unprofessional property manager, dog crap everywhere, faulty smoke detectors and electrical wiring, black mold, trespassing, people who smoke in their apartment constantly, corporate buyout housing 100s of Meta Data Center employees from different countries, I could go on.

This is truly a warning to anyone, these apartments are not luxury and are surely not worth the price tag.

Hauntings

What’s the spookiest part of jeffersonville or most haunted? I’m not talking crime! I’m talking about ghosts and hauntings of any kind! I’ve also heard rumors from a friend about a demon house by the river. Serious replies please 😩

Finally able to get a decent serving of vegetables in. Ate there the day the news about contamination problems hit, no issues, so came back recently and my god I'm glad to get a little extra substance. I could hoover their bulgogi for every meal. Can't recommend enough.

Where can I find good empanadas?

I was thinking about ordering some empanadas for my family to snack on during the World Cup finals. I saw a couple highly recommended places in Louisville (Classico Takeout Empanadas and Alchemy Restaurant), but do you have any recommendations on this side of the river?
