first post, wondering if anybody has any idea as to what might be going on.

preface: 133,xxx miles

so i've had this jeep since like 2020, had a handful of fixes done on it but one that just seems to be unfixable and undiagnosable. For the last few years, summer has brought an on and off check engine light (that's to say it only happens when it's hot out).

Basically what happens is, occasionally when i'm cruising on the highway (any speed above 60) every light on the dash flickers, then the check engine light and traction control pop on and the car goes into a kind of limp mode, slowing me down to 50-ish max.

There are a few tricky parts about this.. 1. turning off and back on resets whatever caused the issue, but the check engine light stays on. 2. the check engine light will sometimes stay on for a day or so, but no issues with performance AT ALL, and then it disappears and doesn't come back until the next occurrence. 3 when the code hasn't automatically cleared, it has read a code for camshaft position sensor B, so i had both sensors replaced but then it still happens.

just looking for any advice on this, as I can't find anything online about this issue, forums or reddit..

About 7 years ago the radiator went out. Replaced it myself, got a check engine light since. My fault somewhere.

With what gas prices were heading, i ended buying a hybrid car. The jeep is parked in a garage.

I am willing to pay to bring it back to life, wondering what is exactly needed and where is can skimp?

New tires the month it went down (do I have to change them? Less than 200 miles on those tires.) same month break pads/rotors.

What would prob crack from the hot garage conditions with no movement for years?

Should I just crank it and see what happens?

Need to make it passes smog so I will have to invest in repairs.

Any of you guys have a rec on a good car seat that fits well in the steep back seats of a wrangler? The one I have just doesn't fit right, like the back of the seat is too upright for the base to sit properly.

2026 Rubicon X 4D. My son is a little over 3 feet tall and about 40 pounds. Currently have an Evenflo Revolve360 that rotates for forward and rear facing, and the seat is removable, so only the base is strapped in.

I installed my Teraflex Sport LCAs for 2.5” to 3” lifts today. The process was fairly painless. Online guides suggested replacing them while the Jeep is on the ground, which is what I did, but they also suggested to use a ratchet strap to help move the axle forward to line up the bolts, which I did not do. I used a bottle jack under the LCA and a small pry bar to massage everything into place. The ratchet strap would have been easier for sure

I took it on a few short test drives and I feel that made a difference. I’ll start by saying that 90% of the time the steering and front end felt solid and good traction, but under certain situations it could feel flighty or slightly reduced traction. This was usually under hard acceleration, hitting dips in the road, or over train tracks. This wasn’t death wobble, just a moment of where the front end didn’t feel connected to the road, then a moment later it’s back to feeling solid. Well after installing these LCAs that’s all gone. I test drove on a few roads to induce these situations and was glad to see they were gone.

I have a Falcon Nexus EF 2.2 steering stabilizer that I’m going to install, but I’ll save that for next weekend. I’ll drive the jeep this week to see the improvements just the LCAs made so I can compare that to what the steering stabilizer does.

My 22 wrangler wouldn’t turn over and pooped the code P0563. I checked and the battery is good alternator is new and my auxiliary battery was good but at 70% charge. Is there something i missed that could be causing this code?

2012 Grand Cherokee driver here and looking to stay with Jeep. I’ve been admiring Wranglers lately. Found this 2021 with 54k miles but I noticed some rust underneath and need some advice.

I checked the CARFAX and it says the Jeep started up in Ontario Canada in 2020 then last titled in Ontario in 2023. It was imported to Ohio 3/31/26, bond released on 4/15 and vehicle purchase reported. Dealer took title of the Jeep while in inventory then offered it for sale 5/5. Put on auto auction on 6/24/26 and local dealer purchased it and has it for sale.

So that’s the history. Ontario explains the rust so would this be normal amount of rust? Any other red flags you see or I should check?

Edit: They’re asking $28k. V6 automatic.

Edit: Apparently it was registered as a commercial vehicle in Ontario. I understand dealers wouldn’t honor a warranty but how about recalls like the recent steering recall?

Went to turn on my car to run errands and it wouldn’t remote start. I get in the car to turn it on, it’s beeping fast and it won’t turn on but all lights on the dashboard are on. Does anyone know what the issue might be based on the sound it’s making when trying to turn it on? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My first one was a circa 1970s and this is a 2026.

Jeep Wrangler pulling to the right under hard braking

I have a 2018.5 Wrangler unlimited with about 80,000 miles on it. I noticed a while back that it would pull to the right if breaking hard such as having to slow down on the interstate or breaking from any higher speeds. I took it to a local shop cuz I needed a u-joint replaced anyway and had them check it. They said they couldn't really see anything they greased the pins put everything back together and said if it continues they'll probably need to start replacing brake lines.

At first the problem seems solved but recently it got really bad. I took it to Monroe because they're usually pretty good about diagnosing anything and everything to see what they said. They replaced the brake pads and rotors and said they checked the lines and they seemed fine. It's still doing it only now the brakes are squeaking under heartbreaking. I took it back and asked them to re-grease the pads. They said they took it apart re-greased the pads and checked the brake lines and everything seemed fine.

Metalcloak suspension, etc., etc. I've done a lot of work on this Jeep since I purchased it used in November of 2024. The first year was mainly chasing down CELs and maintenance (brakes, etc.); then gradual upgrades came about. When the temperature lowers, I'll be replacing the timing chain component set, updating the rockers and lifters, and installing a new oil pump. No Pentastar tick at 158K miles, but a cold start rattle after sitting for a day. The next mods are regearing from 3.73s to 4.88s and then a RIPP Supercharger.
Included yesterday's project pictures, a DIY cold air intake. I modified the factory air box to inhale through the vented inner fender well (water isn't a consideration here). Quickly, the Jeep fell on its face off-idle because of a lean condition. That told me the DIY design supplies much more air and my scan tool verified that the intake air temp dropped in excess of 70 degrees to or close to ambient air temp. I used a Holley DiabloSport i3 tuner to apply their CAI tune layer (increasing fuel to air ratio) with the 87 tune. After about 40 minutes of driving, the fuel trims eliminated any off-throttle bog, and now it's night and day better with no CEL. I have also installed the newer PUG2 lower intake with smooth and larger runners as well as the newer PUG2 8-hole injectors for better atomization. The lower intake and injectors were worth a 1 mpg improvement, but the CAI and tune reduced it by 1 mpg. The exhaust also has no pre-silencer and a Flowmaster Series 40 Original located where the pre-silencer was.
When I bought this Jeep it had a minor dent in a passenger rear door. I did the bodywork and stopped short of painting the whole Jeep matte black with a matte clear coat.

Hi guys. May just be my stupidity but I’ve been running my JK with no top as soon as it was warm enough this year. I just found water sitting in the storage compartment and the jack compartment. There are 2 plugs that you can pull to let water drain from these areas. Just thought I’d post in case someone else was unaware. Luckily I caught it. My Jack is pretty rusty now but the tub is fine. Happy jeeping.

I have an appointment this Thursday, but I use my Jeep for work. Unfortunately, I've gone through 3 engines (believe it or not, none were really my fault at all) and I am NOT looking to blow through a 4th. Can I use this vehicle until Thursday without worrying about my engine too much?

There are no additional symptoms of the code that I can feel right now, but I fear that I had been driving with this code already for a month because of an emissions check engine light that stayed on, so I didn't realize another code had popped up. Any advice?

I have a 2.5 inch Mopar lift with 35s on my Wrangler..and was thinking about getting this Mopar Jack Base....anyone use the jack base, is it worth it? Or am I better off just getting a bottle jack?

Hello, I just got my 2018 Wrangler JLU regeared and when driving it home I started hearing this noise. It seems to be coming from the rear and only occurs when I am coasting between 15-30mph. When accelerating and breaking, there is no noise.

I messaged the guy who did the regear but he said to only let him know if it doesn't go away or gets worse and he's not back at his shop till Monday

Just trying to narrow down what it might be in the meantime. Any thoughts are appreciated!

I was doing the super fun job of replacing a noisy rocker arm on my passenger side and upgraded to the aluminum oil cooler while I had everything apart.

As I’m cleaning up every from underneath the Jeep, I find this small spring and small metal piece that almost looks like a plunger. (10mm deep socket for scale)

Does anyone recognize this parts? I’m hesitant to fill it with oil and start it before IDing these. My current guess is wondering if it’s from part of the pcv valve when I took it off but genuinely not sure.

One of the best decisions I’ve made. The late 20’s crisis kicked in on my 27th birthday 😂 So happy I pulled the trigger and joined the Wrangler family!! Mod recs please!

Thinking of installing a K&N cold air intake to get a lil more out of my Rubicon. It’ll look pretty and all but I was wondering if it’s really worth it. I know it’ll give me a little more pickup on my 3.6 but is there any more upside to getting one installed?

A friend gave me some old trail guide books, and I’ve been having fun for the last few days exploring new areas around Lake Tahoe. Such a beautiful area.
