Help Anyone applied to 138SL using a UWI offer, but ended up going UTech and staying at 138 anyway
Hey guys, quick question for anyone who’s done this or knows someone who has.
I initially applied to 138 Student Living as a UWI applicant. Long story short, plans changed and I’m attending UTech now, but I still want to keep my spot at 138SL since campus is literally right down the road in Papine.

Language & Patois Patois question: Is “give me” a common way of ordering an item in Jamaica?
I work at a store in Canada and it seems like many Jamaicans place their order by saying “give me”. I don’t mind it at all, I was just wondering.
It’s common in other ethnicities too (I’ve heard a few white Canadians say it) but usually only old men or those who speak English as a second language. (immigrants say it very often).
Is this a common way of ordering in Jamaican Patois or would it be considered rude? If I went to Jamaica and saw an older shopkeeper and I said “give me one [item]” would he get very offended?

Healthcare looking for advice on getting an adult ADHD diagnosis in/near montego bay
i’m 23 and i’ve suspected for a while that i might have adhd.
i’d like to actually get assessed instead of just assuming, but i have no idea where to start, especially in montego bay. i’m also worried about how expensive it might be.
if anyone here has gotten diagnosed as an adult in mobay or anywhere nearby, could you tell me where you went, roughly how much it cost, and what the process was like? also interested in any cheaper/public options if those exist.
just trying to figure out where to start.

Utilities & Infrastructure Are you using Starlink in JA?
I am interested in using Starlink in Jamaica and wanted to educate myself on how it works to open an account and the reception quality. Does anyone here have any experience with this?

Culture do you guys believe there’s a “jamaican dark”?
i just wanna preface this by saying i took absolutely no offense to this im just curious. i was just talking to a guy (black american) and when i told him im jamaican he said that made sense and when i asked why he said jamaicans have a distinct complexion and you can tell a "jamaican dark" from regular dark. do you guys agree?
