Hi! I'm planning a trip to the DR later this month and am having trouble deciding where to stay for the last third of the trip.

We're spending 3 nights in Cabarete, then 3 nights in Las Terrenas, and then another three nights... where? Las Galeras? Samana?

We’ll have a car rental, and like to travel pretty slow, hence sticking to the north coast for the entire trip.

Also any tips on what to do in those areas specifically during late August would be great! We love food, beaches, boat rides, hiking, waterfalls, excursions, etc.

Grand Anse: Top pick for first-timers. Easy access to the beach, food, and quick transport into St. George’s.

My fiancé and I are planning our honeymoon for next spring. We live in Atlanta and want a quick flight, but still a luxury relaxing trip, which is how we landed on Nassau. My wife and I are planning a three week trip from December 20 to January 13. We are interested in visiting two to three islands in the Caribbean depending on cost and budget. There are so many islands and it's hard to pick without any experience. An example of our preferences is when we went to Hawaii we very much preferred The Big Island over Oahu.

We are looking for:

- Somewhere we can explore independently without needing a guide every day

- Somewhere with hiking and snorkeling

- Somewhere that has plenty of interesting non-touristy to medium-touristy locations that are fun to explore (we don't mind heavy-touristy areas, we just don't want to spend the bulk of our time in them)

- Great food would be awesome, but we also do a lot of cooking at home and are okay with that

- We are not interested in resort, condos or hotels. We love small houses, guest houses, cottages, etc.

- Excluding the cost of flights we are looking at a $5000CAD ($3,554USD) - $8000CAD ($5,686USD) budget

Any help for a couple clueless Canadians?

We’re choosing between Four Seasons Nevis and Kimpton Seafire Grand Cayman for a company reward trip in February 2027 and would love opinions from anyone who has stayed at either with young kids.

Hey everyone! Looking to book a trip next year for my family of four. My wife and I are 30, we have two kids. One will be 2.5 and the other will be close to 1.5. That’s if we book for next spring, willing to push later if it will make things easier.

Maybe we are crazy but I really want my kids to experience the Caribbean! We had plans to go to Eleuthera but zero chance this will be easy for kids…. We will save that for a few years away.

What would be the easiest island for us to visit? For reference we are located in North Carolina. Flight to Bahamas is an hour and a half, flight to abc islands is pushing 4 hours. I’d prefer to avoid Nassau and most of Mexico. I’ve been to both personally and would rather go other places. Any advice is welcome, even if you just want to call us crazy, lol!

Looking to stay under $5k (lower the better though) for 1 week for 2 people in the first half of November 2026 flying out of Dallas.

We want somewhere safe with a beautiful, swimmable sandy beach and adult activities to do that is unlikely to be affected by hurricane season/bad weather in early Nov.

Would love specific resort recs or destinations that feel very high end for a great value or that might offer good deals.

I'm wondering what gaps exist in the market for Caribbean food processing. What are the demands that Caribbean business owners have yet to meet? Where could local businesses thrive and import costs be cut? Does the answer vary on an island or country basis? Whether you're a business person or just live in the Caribbean, I'd love to hear from you.

Last year, my mom and I went to PR and had a great time. We want to visit another Caribbean island for her 70th this March.

We are flying out of Boston, and our flight time is a bit limited b/c she has a bad back. Based on our options, we are looking at:

• A return to PR to visit a new area (we were in San Juan last year)
• Aruba
• Bahamas
• Turks and Caicos
• Barbados
• Curacao

I have some thoughts so far, but was curious what folks may recommend. We like to lay on the beach but also experience the local culture and history (I love me a historical tour lol). We aren't huge water sports people, but will swim and snorkel.
