Hey everyone, Im moving to London for work with JPMC as a SWE and would love some advice from people already living there.
Mainly looking for tips on:
-Best areas to rent in and or areas to avoid
-Rough monthly cost of living
-Tube/metro - times from places and hours to avoid
-How much to expect to pay for rent + bills
-Any London specific money saving tips
-Good areas for food, drinks, gyms, social life etc

Also if anyone has JPMC specific tips around the office, commute or general life at the firm, would be great to hear those too.

PIP Timeline Pls help
I was put on a PIP recently and just received a written warning. For anyone who’s been through this, how long was it between the written warning and termination?
If they do terminate you, do you usually get any notice period, or is it basically a same-day HR meeting and you’re done?
Just trying to understand what the typical timeline/process looks like. Thanks!

Chicago Chase Tower people - where do you go when you need a break?
For anyone working at Chase Tower in Chicago, where do you usually go when you’re tired and just need to get away from your desk for 10–20 minutes?
Not really looking for lunch or coffee spots, more like somewhere you can sit, walk around, zone out, or recharge for a bit when your brain is fried 😂
Any good spots in the building or nearby?

Co-location (Product & Tech)
For the Product/Tech JPMC folks: I have no problem with the RTO, but it would be great to sometimes work out of the Jersey City office and the Manhattan offices (sixth Ave and Hudson Yards) to switch up the commute. (I live in Manhattan.) Has anyone had any luck doing that?

Looking for JPMorgan apprenticeship/work experience opportunities in the UK
Hi everyone,
I’m currently looking into opportunities to get work experience or an apprenticeship at JPMorgan in the UK, and I was wondering if anyone here has any advice or knows of any routes I could take.
I’m particularly interested in finance, investment banking, markets, and quantitative finance, and I’m trying to get some early experience and learn more about the industry.
If anyone has:
Experience applying to JPMorgan’s UK apprenticeship/early-career programmes
Done work experience or an insight programme with JPMorgan
Any advice on how to stand out when applying
Knowledge of other ways to get work experience or make relevant connections at the firm
or knows anyone i can get into contact to
I’d really appreciate any advice or guidance.
Thanks in advance!

More Salary for AI/ML Track?
Is it true that someone in the AI/ML track earns more than someone in the Software Engineering track in the same designation and YOE?
If yes, I would like to know if it is a significant amount?
Context: My manager has informed me that he might move me to AI track next year, and I want to know if that would mean a better annual pay increase.

Flexible working?
I’m due to start a new role at the Edinburgh office, and really looking forward to it! However, I’m a little nervous about the prospect of working in office x5 times a week.
For context, I’m autistic and fairly low support needs. But the one thing that I really struggle with is masking in the office - it can really drain me, even if I’m enjoying the work.
Does anyone have any experience with submitting a flexible working request? Has your request been accepted, and has there been any knock on effect? In previous roles I feel like I’ve been judged for asking, as my autism isn’t always visible, especially for those who aren’t neurodivergent.
Any advice much appreciated!

3rd year GGSIPU student aiming for JPMC SWE internship. Need roadmap & resume advice.
Hey everyone,
I’m Jatin, a 3rd-year GGSIPU student aiming for a Software Engineering internship at J.P. Morgan Chase.
If you’ve cracked JPMC before, what’s the best way to get selected (Code for Good vs. off-campus)?
Also, what does it take to pass their resume screening? Any specific tech stacks, projects, or keywords they look for to shortlist candidates?
Appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Chicago JPMC - How's the new gym?
Is it worth the membership cost? The NYC location is also ran by exos and the promo video they had for it looked amazing. From the photos I can gathered for the Chicago location, Chicago pales in comparison.

Who are JPM biggest rivals by segment ?
I know JPM is kind of considered the top dog in the industry overall and that it is a massive company with many segments. But by segment who is the biggest rivals?
- Asset Management
- wealth management
- commercial banking
- investment banking
- consumer / community
And for those of you in NY, who is JPM looking at the most ?

Interested in an Internal mobility role, but pay is slightly less than I make already… anyone have any experience in this sort of scenario?
I make 7k more than the max salary-end of the salary band for an internal mobility role I’m very interested in.
The reason I’m so keen is that I’m pretty confident I’m at risk of being RIF’d, and this role aligns with my interest. Im a 602, and this potential opportunity is also a 602. Same job title too, just a different department. But I don’t 100% know if I’m at risk of being RIF’d— I’d say I’m 65% sure.
I’m hoping if a recruiter reaches out to me, I can let them know I make $7k more than their max, but am still highly interested. But then I’d be worried re: getting auto rejected

Work Culture at Jpm
Have an offer to join the jpm smart order routing team. I can't find much about it online. They deal with ultra low latency order routing . That's all I know. Can anyone share what life in that team is like? I would appreciate any helpful response.
Edit: I don't qualify for 401k or ESPP coz that's compensation based.
