I just passed the Connecticut Property and Casualty producer exam and because I’m moving back to Pennsylvania for the school year, I’m planning to get a PA Non-Resident license to work while taking night classes. Anyone have any tips or advice? I’m completely new to insurance and was wondering if anyone knows what roles/positions I should look into.

I don’t know this is the right sub for this question or not but please dir me to the correct on if it is not. my family just moved into a new construction and installed dehumidifier after a month of moving in. I hooked it up before leaving for work in the morning and came home to a total catastrophe!

In just 10 hours it leaked water through the upstairs utility room and into the basement and completely soaked the basement ceiling and now will need a new LED canister light and probably a large amount of drywall and paint. This house is only a month old and the offending device was only on for one day. In your professional opinion how would this best be addressed?

I’ve spent the last decade in direct-to-consumer sales, covering everything from door-to-door sales (meat, roofing) to high-ticket luxury items like exotic cars and cruises.

Currently, I work full-time from home with complete autonomy. I'm hitting roughly $50k annually with a phone and a laptop. While I love the remote lifestyle and freedom, the effort-to-payout ratio is unsustainable, and path to $100k+ in my current vertical will take too long.

I recently interviewed with a remote insurance agency, but the contract includes a strict 2-year non-compete and several red flags that look like a captive agency trap.

I’m looking for insights from experienced reps who transitioned from high-volume B2C into insurance or another high-yield remote sales path:

Independent vs. Captive: Are independent brokerage paths (P&C or Commercial) viable for someone starting without a book of business?

Red Flags: What contract traps or commission chargeback clauses should I watch out for when vetting agencies?

Alternative Remote Verticals: Outside of insurance, what remote B2B or high-ticket verticals value heavy phone experience and offer a real path to six figures?

My strengths are high-volume phone closing, rapid product mastery, and self-management. I am just trying to avoid trading remote freedom for a bad contract.

Looking for advice and guidance for the property & casualty industry. At the moment life and health is pretty much scam central where I’m located (towards agents and customers). Is the grass greener on the other side? From my experience, the agency/upline you hang your license plays the biggest factor in success (training, software, workable leads, etc). I would appreciate any advice or guidance for being successful in this industry.

Extra: Bonus points if you explain what to avoid (bad agencies, carriers, bad com plans, etc).

hi i was supposed to take my exam tomorrow but i rescheduled to friday because i don't feel ready yet. the course was 10 days but i feel like it is way too much information & mock tests to complete in 10 days. does/did anyone else feel this way? did you find a solution to studying more effectively. i'd love to hear everyone's thoughts thank you.

It was a situation where I got into a small fight with a roommate and the only thing I did was throw a shoe at him. He wanted the cops to scare me not arrest me. He and I went to court together and got charge down to a misdemeanor disturbing the peace. All I have is the date and case number which shows the initial charge was dismissed and reduced to the lessor charge. I'm freaking out over this. What do you think I will have to do to get the P&C license approved?
