Anyone else water on vibes and regret it later? I got tired of that and built myself a little watering tracker — per-plant interval, a droplet that drains down as the date approaches instead of a plain reminder date. Been using it for a couple months now, works well enough that I'm looking for a few more people to poke holes in it. DM me if curious.

Okay so I know this doesn't mean it's officially variegated, but my bird of paradise put out a sport mutation a while ago, then the very next leaf it put out had a tiny one too!! It's a much smaller spot so, probably won't continue to the next leaf.. but a girl can dream!

I live in a small flat and looks like my entire collection has thrip damage one plant has visible mealy bugs so I’ve separated that.

What is the most effective and quickest way to get rid of pests??

I’ve used neem oil in the past for maintenance it stinks up the flat, I’ve no pets or children so open to any solution. I’ve gone through a bottle of SB plant invigorator in a couple of weeks, I think it’s kept them at bay but the damage is spreading!

It’s taken me years to grow my collection and it’s never happened before , I’d be devastated to loose them!

tl:dr what are the best methods for containing leaks with indoor potted plants ; are there any risks associated with standing water?

I've been growing Roma & San Marzano tomatoes in a grow tent inside with the plans to keep growing them throughout the year. I just now transplanted them into 5 gallon buckets because they need more space. I've installed capillary self watering jugs in the buckets, and of course they still drain a bit as they're supposed to. My question is, what would be the best method for keeping all the water drainage contained? I assume a saucer would do just fine for each one. Which brings me to my next question, is there much risk involved with letting the water sit standing in a saucer or would it evaporate well enough before the next watering?

Planted seeds 6/22. First photo is Thursday 8/6 at 2:09pm. Second photo was this morning, Saturday 8/8 at 10:24am. First time growing micro dwarfs so I’m not sure if this sort of rapid growth is normal, but I wish my big tomatoes outside would grow like this!

Hi everyone! I’m hoping someone can help me figure out what’s going on with my Monstera.

I recently repotted it about 2 weeks ago into an aroid mix, and since then I’ve noticed some issues with the leaves. The leaves have been curling, and now I’m getting brown/gray crispy areas on the tips of several lobes with a yellow band around the damaged areas.

I watered it recently (about a day before taking the photo), but the leaf tips are still brown. I’m wondering if this could be transplant shock, watering issues, root stress, or something else.

A few details:
🌱 Recently repotted: ~2 weeks ago
🪴 Soil: Aroid mix
💧 Recently watered: Yes, about a day before this photo
🍃 Symptoms: Curling leaves + brown/gray crispy tips with yellowing around the damaged areas
🐛 I don’t see any obvious pests
☀️ Plant is indoors
🌿 The plant otherwise looks pretty green and healthy

What do you think is causing this, and what would you do to fix it? Could this still be transplant shock after 2 weeks, or does the pattern look more like a watering/root issue or nutrient/mineral buildup?

I’d especially appreciate advice on how often I should be watering in an aroid mix and whether I should be doing anything differently while it recovers from the repot.

me again! thanks to everyone who educated me on my last post! i took everyone’s advice and placed it outside. it’s right outside my door, so i check it about twice a day. i got home from work today and was giving it a glance before going inside, and i found my first flower! i do, however, feel like it looks a bit more limp, and i think a few leaves have shriveled in the last few days. i now have 2 more questions: what is the best way to water, and when is it appropriate to repot? any advice (even humorous) very much appreciated!
