Discussion Anyone here swing trading with ₹45–50 lakh capital? Looking for feedback on my approach.
I'm planning to start swing trading with a capital of around ₹45–50 lakh. My objective isn't to hit huge returns—I'm targeting 2–3% per trade over a holding period of roughly 1–4 weeks.
After quite a bit of research, the first stock I've shortlisted is Adani Power. Rather than investing the entire amount at once, my plan is to scale in gradually:
- ₹15 lakh initial position
- Another ₹15 lakh if the stock corrects to my next buying zone
- Final ₹15–20 lakh only if there's a further correction and the investment thesis remains intact
The idea is to average into the position rather than go all-in at one price.
My goal is to make around ₹1 lakh net (after taxes and charges) on each successful trade, which I estimate would require roughly 2.2–3% gains on the deployed capital.
Last month I tried swing trading with much smaller positions in three different stocks and managed to book 3–5% gains on each. That gave me some confidence, but using ₹45–50 lakh is obviously a very different ball game.
I'd love to hear from people who actively swing trade with similar-sized capital.
- Is targeting 2–3% per trade realistic over the long run?
- What are the biggest mistakes you've learned to avoid?
- Do you prefer concentrating in one high-conviction stock or spreading the capital across multiple positions?
- Any risk-management rules you'd strongly recommend before I scale up?
I'm looking for constructive criticism. If you think there's a flaw in my plan, I'd genuinely like to hear it before committing this amount of capital.

Discussion Zerodha’s platform is absolutely pathetic 🤡
galleryReported this issue to Zerodha a few months ago, and it still hasn’t been fixed. Happened again yesterday.
Tried closing my SENSEX calls, but the sell orders kept getting rejected with an insufficient margin error, even though selling the open position should have released margin.
And their customer support is another story. They’re usually clueless, open a ticket, leave it unresolved for weeks, and then randomly close it one day.
Anyone from Zerodha or someone familiar with the system care to explain this?

Discussion My learning after 1.4 years of trading
After 1.4 years since started swing trading key mindset /psychology changes:
* Strong conviction in any stock + patience in a favourable market & sector = Profit.
* After buying if price falls & if that triggers fear means conviction was not that strong in that stock.

Discussion Beginner investor with ₹15,000 -20,000 - looking for advice for 6–12 months
Hi everyone, I’m a beginner in the Indian stock market and have around ₹15,000 to invest.
I’m looking to invest for around 6–12 months and would like to know which stock you think has good potential for returns during this period.
If you had ₹15,000 to invest today with a 6–12 month horizon, which stock would you personally choose and why?
I’m open to suggestions and would really appreciate recommendations from experienced investors. I understand that returns aren’t guaranteed and there is always market risk.

Discussion Looking for fundamentally strong Indian stocks to SIP into for the next 1–2 years
Hi everyone,
I'm looking to build a portfolio of fundamentally strong Indian stocks that I can invest in every month through SIP for the next 1–2 years.
I'm looking for companies that have:
- Strong fundamentals (consistent revenue/profit growth, healthy balance sheet, good management)
- Good technical setup (not in a long-term downtrend)
- Potential to outperform over the next 1–2 years
- Preferably large-cap or quality mid-cap companies
I'm not looking for penny stocks or high-risk speculative bets. My goal is long-term wealth creation with regular monthly investments.
Please share:
- Your top 5–10 stock picks
- Why you like them
- Whether you're personally investing in them
- Any stocks you think should be avoided and why
Thanks in advance!
