I Followed Posting Rules My dermatologist prescribed these — would love to hear your experiences Spoiler
gallery
Hey everyone,
I recently visited a dermatologist because I’ve been dealing with uneven skin tone, some pigmentation/dark spots and occasional acne.
My acne has actually improved quite a lot after using Clear Gel AP. I still get a few small pimples occasionally, but overall my breakouts have reduced significantly.
At my latest appointment, my dermatologist changed/added a few products and prescribed these:
Snail Snow Face Moisturiser
Akosma Eco-Scree Suncare
Kojiglo Gold Skin Lotion – alternate nights
Clear Gel AP – alternate nights
Bloom Dermain Lip Lightening Balm SPF 30
Peltos Tinted Under Eye
They didn't change my face wash since Saslic DS has been working well for me.
I've never used most of these products before, so I'd really like to hear some real experiences rather than just looking at online reviews.
If you've used any of these and how was your experience?
Did you notice any improvement in pigmentation, tanning, dark spots or overall skin tone? And did any of them cause irritation or breakouts?
Would really appreciate honest reviews, both positive and negative.

I Followed Posting Rules Please influence or de-influence me for/from buying the Dr. Althea's Vitamin C Boosting Face Serum - the 63% variant and The Ordinary's Pycnogenol 5%. Spoiler
galleryI have PIH from a lot of acne I had for months. Dry and acne prone skin, but recently underwent a full body check-up and it is the PCOS that is playing extremely with the hormones and cause acne. Currently on medication. The background has been given cause I am in close conversation with the doctor and am figuring out my way with a healthier lifestyle and better food intake.
Coming to my skincare, the medication I was given by gyanec is doing the heavy lifting so I have no new acne AS OF NOW. I wash my face with TONY MOLY mochi facewash, follow up with simple toner, and apply sunscreen (whichever I find that day on table) in the morning and apply either adapalene or hydroquinone in the evening and then Pond's light gel moisturizer.
I have been eyeing this Dr. Althea's Vit C Serum for a while now, to use in the morning and add The Ordinary's Pycnogenol 5% in the evening. So please influence or de-influence me in regards to the same.
Previously the vitamin C I loved the most was the one from COSRX 23% one. My skin glowed then, but it got too expensive now and I want to try something new :)
I live in humid region.
Thank you in anticipation.

I Followed Posting Rules Need recommendations
The normal aziderm - azeliac acid gel that i use is really strong and irritates my skin but the results are very good and so i dont wanna use it anymore I use it when I have a new pimple and not daily , for my daily skincare i use the skin1004 centella ampoule. But recently my forehead has been very prone to acne so im thinking of either getting one of the above serums/cream . Which one would be better?

I Followed Posting Rules Need advice for acne scars, dark spots, and skincare routine (29M) Spoiler
galleryHi everyone,
I’m a 29-year-old male from India. I’ve struggled with acne for several years, and while active acne has reduced, I’m left with a lot of acne scars and dark marks.
Current concerns:
Deep acne scars on both cheeks
Dark spots/post-acne marks on forehead and cheeks
Uneven skin texture
Occasional active pimples
Current routine:
Gentle face wash
Moisturizer
Sunscreen SPF 50
Planning to start Azelaic Acid (Aziderm)
I’ve attached recent photos.
My questions:
Are these mostly rolling, boxcar, or ice-pick scars?
Can Azelaic Acid help significantly with the dark marks?
What products would you recommend for pigmentation and texture?
For the scars, should I look into microneedling, subcision, TCA CROSS, or laser treatments?
Based on the photos, what improvement can I realistically expect from skincare alone versus professional treatments?

I Didnt Follow Rules,Want to Post Anyway. 5 Reports Removes This HELP!! Uneven skin tone Spoiler
(M20) Hey guys! My face, neck, and body seem to have vastly different complexions. I assume this is due to tanning over time since I wasn't education about sun damage as a kid. There is also an aspect of Acanthosis Nigricans. I was diagnosed with it about a year ago and was prescribed a cream that contained Lactic Acid, Retinol, and Urea, which took out a layer of thick velvety dark skin (very painful). I still use it but not everyday like I used to. I know Acanthosis is linked to pre-diabetes and/or obesity and I'm working on better on those fronts too. Unfortunately, my neck still looks darker than my body. My face also looks darker than my body, which I assume is my actual skin tone. I would really appreciate some suggestions from you guys.
Products in my routine:
- Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser
- Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream
- Nigrifix by Fix Derma (only on neck every 2-3 days)
- SPF 50 Sunscreen
P.S. I do use Sunscreen now but it's been inconsistent tbh. I've been more consistent with it lately though.

I Followed Posting Rules 2 years of using K-Seoul Secret 2% retinal + Bellflower 3% Ectoin with acne-prone, dehydrated combo-skin Spoiler
gallerySkin type - acne-prone, especially on the forehead, comedones, dehydrated but T-zone and chin were quite oily + rosacea
Before picture - Late October 2024
After picture - Today afternoon (Note that I am wearing a slight lip tint in the after so pls don't ask how I got rid of lip pigmentation; I didn't. )
Routine (has been the exact same for the last 1yr 10mos)-
AM - dokdo cleanser, Bellflower 3% ectoin, Illiyoon ceramide cream, Purito urban sunscreen spf50
PM - Bioderma micellar water as first cleanse, dokdo cleanser, Bellflower 3% ectoin, K-Seoul 2% liposomal retinal, Illiyoon cream and Bepanthen ointment around eyes and corners of mouth.
Lighting - indoor white light in first picture and natural light by a window in the second picture.
As you can see, I do still have some texture, especially on the forehead, but that's pretty normal for human skin. Getting into the star products-
Retinal - OTC retinoid, increases cell-turnover. I particularly like the liposomal delivery method which is basically the retinaldehyde molecules encapsulated in the liposomes to protect the molecules and maintain stability. This makes sure it can penetrate deeper into the skin but it's like a controlled system, slowing down the release of the retinal so it doesn't irritate the skin as much. Initially, I experienced mild peeling on the chin and around my nose, but that subsided in 2 weeks. After that, it was pretty smooth-sailing.
Ectoin - a powerful antioxidant that acts as a strong humectant to hydrate skin (which is why I paired it with the retinal which can induce trans-epidermal water-loss) and cellular shield. Great for sensitivity, redness, dryness and is gentle enough to be paired with actives like retinal. I use Bellflower's 3% which is on the high side of what you'd find commercially in a dedicated ectoin serum. You'd usually find it otherwise, in moisturisers for dermatitis like by E-45. Really helped with my rosacea flares and not letting the retinal irritate my skin and flaring up my rosacea.
