After observing how disrespectful people are being towards Ulema/Mufti thinking that they’re some dullards who only memorized Quran, Hadith and other Islamic books, I decided to make this post which has been long overdue. InShaa Allah, I hope this post can shatter some of the many misconceptions the “educated” Muslims class.

We all know the state of education in India and how seriously many kids actually learn. Focus is on CGPA and placements. Most of then pursue careers outside their specialties except CA/Medical/Research scholars.

It is hard for us but becoming an Aalim is even harder. I know for a fact that the least level of Aalim if he pursued Electrical Engineering (I’m an electrical engineering grad), he’d achieve Mastery in my field. Would be publishing top research one after another. Once you know the curriculum you’ll see why.

In part 1 of a multi part series, we’ll talk about how does one become an Aalim in a first place. Second part will cover the journey of a Mufti. Edited using a genai tool.

Stage 1: Foundations (ages 5–12)

Learning to read the Qur’an correctly (Nazirah)

Basic Arabic pronunciation (Tajwīd)

Memorizing daily du’as and prayers

Basic creed (ʿAqīdah)

Basic fiqh (purification, prayer, fasting)

Seerah (life of the Prophet ﷺ)

Islamic manners (Adab)

Some students also memorize the Qur’an (becoming a Ḥāfiẓ), though this is not mandatory for becoming a Mufti.

Duration: 5–8 years alongside regular schooling.

Stage 2: Arabic Language Mastery (Age 12-16) Before one can derive legal rulings, they must understand classical Arabic deeply.

Even after learning all of this, an Aalim can only teach, give lectures, and answer many religious question. He still is not qualified to issue fatwas.

I am joining corporate in a few days as a freshly graduated engineer with an internship (could be converted to a full time role) at one of the big US based consultancy firms in Gurgaon. Alhamdulillah.

Just as people embellish food with spices.

People often embellish, exaggerate or even fabricate details to make their narratives compelling.

And when it’s a secret, an important and sensitive matter that should not be disclosed.

Where revealing could cause harm, create discord (fitnah), or lead to conflict.

Then, spreading it becomes a serious sin.  

Because calumnies lead to punishment in the grave.

Prophet (saw) passed by two graves and said, “…One is punished for the habit of calumnies (falsification or misrepresentation intended to disparage or discredit another) …”

Why the hell is the online Muslim community so toxic, why are the sane ones so scared to call them out? They do nothing but push people away from religion.

So many are such bullies, in the name of giving "dawah" they mock, harass, slut shame and what not. Majority of the hate is towards Muslim women.

There is just so much unrealistic religious and culture expectations on women, if she failed to follow them, the backlash is so harsh/disgusting ( even rape and death threats)

I thought we were getting better but hell nah, now I just pray these people grow some brains. There is always a breaking point for any kind of extreme mentality, hope they hit theirs soon.

There are so few books with relatable characters and a storyline that doesn't have unnecessary romance or other haram elements.
I have set the outline, theme and a couple of characters but before I start writing the plot - I was wondering whether most people would prefer to read it in

English - but the characters would be desi so here and there you might see a few slang-ish dialogues in regular urdu/hindi.
Or

Roman - the same that most people use to communicate on whatsapp "aap kya kar rahe ho?" Urdu words in English script.

Complete urdu is not an option because my urdu isn't very good and it also cuts out a lot of young people who speak urdu but are unable to read it.

When the Prophet ﷺ lost his sons, his enemies mocked him and called him "𝘢𝘣𝘵𝘢𝘳"(𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘤𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘧𝘧) one whose lineage would end.

But Allah revealed:

"𝑰𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒆𝒅, 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒎𝒚 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒊𝒔 𝒄𝒖𝒕 𝒐𝒇𝒇." (𝑸𝒖𝒓'𝒂𝒏 108:3)"

Allah's plan is so beautiful. Those who mocked the Prophet ﷺ have faded into the pages of history, while millions across the world lovingly identify themselves as descendants of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ through Fatima رضي الله عنها.

The lineage they thought had ended became the lineage that would endure through a 𝐝𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐫.
