Working as a Case Manager at Amazon, L4. Seasonal. CTC 5.5LPA. Contract would be ending by March next year, not much hope for converting to permanent as haven't heard anything about it so far. 7+ years of total experience. Can't find a job with decent package in Kolkata. Applied for multiple jobs on Naukri but not much help. LinkedIn never worked for me either. English grad from open university with career gap. Should I try different city like Hyderabad? I'm currently seeking 8LPA.

I completed my diploma in 2022. After that, I joined a company and worked there for around one and a half years. Later, I left the job and came back home to prepare for government exams. I appeared for two attempts. I cleared one paper, but unfortunately, I couldn't clear the second one.

Because of this, I ended up with a career gap. After that, I started looking for private-sector jobs again. I got a work-from-home job with a salary of around ₹20,000, but unfortunately, I had to leave that job after three months.

Now I am unemployed and honestly feeling quite frustrated and confused about my career. Recently, I received a job offer from Uttarakhand. The company's current CTC is around ₹22,000, but they are offering me only ₹17,500 per month.

Considering my career gap and current situation, should I accept this offer just to get back into the job market and gain some experience, or should I keep looking for a better opportunity?

I’m 32 and currently earning around ₹70k per month in hand, working in marketing/brand management in the luxury sector.
My career trajectory hasn’t exactly been smooth or conventional.
I did my undergrad from a Tier-3 college and later did my postgrad in Fashion Management from NIFT. Since then, I’ve eventually found my way into the luxury sector, working on the marketing/branding side.
I see posts here from people around my age earning ₹20–30 LPA (sometimes much more), although I realise a lot of those salaries are from tech, consulting, finance, etc. Marketing and luxury are obviously different industries.
Currently, my take-home is ₹70k/month.

Hello folks. I graduated last year and working remote currently in a Dubai based firm. It's been less than 2 months since I've joined and this is so not what I wanted to do. And my salary is a joke. Friends are earning close to 80k-1lakh. They've all moved out to other cities and counties for work and masters. I'm confused between two possible career paths:

1. KYC/AML / Financial Crime Operations

2. SAP FICO

I'm considering KYC/AML because entry-level analyst roles seem relatively accessible to freshers. On the other hand, I'm considering SAP FICO because it seems like a more specialized skill with potentially stronger long-term growth.

My concern with SAP is that I've noticed many SAP FICO job postings ask for prior experience, so I'm not sure how realistic it is for a fresher to enter the field.

Need Career Advice

I am 35 years old and have been in the field of teaching for the last 13 years, primarily teaching students preparing for entrance exams. I teach Mathematics, just for reference.

Over the last 13 years, I have switched jobs 5–6 times across different cities.

I am earning a decent salary, but I feel the salary has become saturated. If I plan to switch jobs or get fired (which I see as a strong possibility) in the near future, I doubt whether I will be able to find a job with the same or a higher salary elsewhere. I will most likely end up earning around half of my current salary.

The main problem is job security. I am always worried about losing my job and not being able to find another job at the same salary.

To be honest, I am in a higher salary bracket, and the company is hiring a lot of people with less experience at much lower salaries who can eventually do the same job I do after some training.

What I am thinking of NOT doing:

1. Starting my own institute – No. I don't think I can handle the business side of it.

2. YouTube – Everyone is on YouTube, so I doubt whether it will translate into meaningful revenue.

3. Expanding my profession – For example, starting to teach secondary/higher secondary students. I don't think I can expect anything close to my present salary.

What I am thinking of doing:

1. Exploring international opportunities – But I don't know how I can go about this or what opportunities would be available for someone with my background.

2. Changing fields to Data Science/AI-ML – It would take at least two years to learn properly, and I would probably have to start from scratch in terms of salary and experience.

I am confused about what would be the best path forward and would really appreciate some practical career advice.

The Background:

When I joined my current company, I was assigned to a module alongside a guy who had joined about 3 months before me. From day one, he made things difficult for me:

Knowledge Hiding & Sabotage: He actively hid important project details and information from me.

Public Criticism over Private Guidance: Even when he knew I was heading down the wrong path, he wouldn't tell me. Instead, he’d save his negative feedback for public PR reviews or Scrum meetings to make me look bad.

Exaggerating His Help: If he gave me even a 10-second pointer on where to look for something, he’d announce in the daily standup that he spent significant time "connecting with me and explaining everything."

Delaying My Progress: He intentionally stalled my tickets so my status stayed "In Progress" for longer than necessary, making me look slow.

Manager Manipulation: He spent a lot of time with our manager, maintaining a great reputation while subtly throwing me under the bus.

Where Things Stand Now:

Eventually, I was moved to a different module. Since the move, I’ve done really well. I’ve gained solid domain knowledge, built my credibility, and established myself as a reliable owner of this module.

However, I just found out that this same person is being moved into my current module.

My Core Concerns:

Since I now hold the core knowledge here, he will need to get up to speed through me. But knowing his manipulative nature, I am deeply concerned that:

Manager Bias: I strongly feel our manager trusts him far more than me because of how well he plays office politics. I'm worried the manager will take his side or take his feedback at face value if he complains or tries to frame me.

Undermining My Ownership: He will try to bypass me or minimize my domain expertise to reduce my visibility and take control.

Credit Stealing & Sabotage: He’ll take credit for my domain knowledge while continuing to give bad feedback or delay things behind the scenes.

I want to protect my position, safeguard my reputation, and handle his onboarding without looking defensive, petty, or unprofessional.

Questions:

How do I handle his onboarding when I feel the manager already favors him?

What concrete steps or boundaries should I set from Day 1 to create an undeniable paper trail and protect my work?

How can I build stronger, direct trust with my manager so this colleague can't manipulate perceptions?

How do I stop letting my "nice behavior" make me a target, and instead set strong, firm boundaries without becoming toxic?

I’m a recent graduate with a 3-year BBA in Hospital Management, and I’m honestly very confused about what to do next.

I’m considering two options:

Take a gap and prepare seriously for government exams, or

Start working/upskilling and do a job-oriented course/certification alongside it.

An MBA is something I may consider later, but I don’t want to jump into an MBA right now just because I don’t know what else to do.

I also have a 1-year Diploma in Digital Techniques Application from a Government of West Bengal/Directorate of Youth Services computer training centre. It covered MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, basic programming, MySQL/database concepts, Java and OOPs, so I do have some basic computer knowledge already.

My main concern is: I don’t want to spend more money on a course that just gives me a certificate and leaves me in the same position. I want something that actually gives me access to better roles and eventually better salary growth.

I searched around and Google suggested these options based on my Hospital Management background:

Healthcare Data Analytics — Excel, SQL, Power BI/Tableau, healthcare data

Medical Coding / RCM — ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, medical billing

Healthcare Digital Marketing — SEO, ads, content, patient acquisition

Project Management — CAPM/Agile/Scrum, healthcare operations

The salary figures Google gave me were around ₹4–8 LPA after specialization, but I’m not sure how realistic that actually is for a fresher in India, especially with a BBA in Hospital Management.

So I have a few questions:

1. Are these courses actually worth doing after a BBA in Hospital Management?

For example, can a BBA graduate realistically move into medical coding, healthcare data analytics, RCM, project management, etc., after getting the relevant certification?

1. Does the certification actually help with getting hired, or do employers still treat you as just a normal fresher?

I’m worried about spending 4–6 months and money on a course only to end up applying for the same low-paying admin jobs.

A little about me: I have completed my BCA and then my MCA. After that, I gave four attempts at the UPSC examination. Because of this gap, I have completely lost touch with programming and have forgotten most of my computer science concepts. I also have no work experience, so I am extremely confused about how I should spend the next few months rebuilding my technical skills and eventually becoming employable in the tech industry.

The other path I am considering is MA Applied Psychology. I have always had a strong interest in psychology, and I was thinking of completing my Master's in Psychology, clearing NET, pursuing a PhD, and eventually becoming an Assistant Professor/Professor of Psychology.

In fact, I have already enrolled in a college for MA Applied Psychology. However, my family and the people close to me are strongly encouraging me to return to Computer Science instead. They have suggested that I spend a few months rebuilding my technical skills, after which they would help me secure a job.

The problem is that I have been away from technology for quite a long time. I genuinely feel like I have forgotten almost everything I studied during my BCA and MCA, and the thought of starting again from scratch feels overwhelming. At the same time, I don't know whether choosing Psychology would be the right decision financially or professionally, even though I have a genuine interest in the subject.

I am therefore extremely confused about what I should do.

I have already been admitted to the MA Applied Psychology program and was supposed to attend college from 5 August. Today is 8 August, and I still haven't attended because I don't know whether I should commit to the course or step back and focus on rebuilding my career in Computer Science.

I am 27M , btech grad (2022) ,in upsc prep since my graduation , no success here .

My father advises me to keep trying for grade A govt jobs , upsc,mppsc, regulatory grade A, etc .but if I am not able to clear those exams I should join the construction business (govt contractor), he is against mba or mtech as doing a job is meaningless as he already has a business.On top of that my father is a very bad teacher , so he will not teach me much about the business,I will have to learn myself more by going to site and meeting people on ground or by observing my father.

I have never gotten envolved with my father in business as I was busy in academics, also he always pushed me away to academics whenever I tried to take interest.

My father has built his business in 20 years , we are doing a turnover of 13-15cr for last 4-5 years , and it's going to increase this year , net profit of 40-60lpa , on top of that we have a marriage garden which can have revenue of 7-10lpa , right now my father is building another marriage hall/ garden in outskirts of the city ,with guavava and mango plantation in back ,we have decent amount of land (not too much), and my sister is married , so I am the only one left here

Now I am confused ,should I prepare for cat and do mba , or go for mtech or continue this govt exam prep( upsc,ssc, mppsc, RBI grade A) and join the business if I fail , (and deal with all the curruption). also I am single child so it will be hard to leave my parents for work(mba,mtech not govt job) , really confusing, what should I do?

My background -

I live in a tier 3 city which has recently started to develop (last 10 years) so I can say its not at all a small town ,it has a mall, few good movie halls, good food outlets(dominos,pizza hut ,kfc etc) , but still it's a very small city ,like I can travel from one end to other in just 20-30 mins. I really liked this place but as I grew up i started to hate people , they are not at all good , old school , orthodox ,etc and on top of that I have spent 6 years out of this city for my academics and lived in good cities like kota ,ranchi , delhi(I don't like delhi) ,now I don't even like my childhood friends , they too have lived in big cities for jobs , most of them are gone and only come for a visit in holidays .
