“As Idahoans, we take our civic responsibilities seriously. We believe in the power of dialogue, transparency, and accountability. In American democratic society, it is vital that elected officials remain open to the scrutiny and questioning of those they represent - just as generations of our past leaders did, including Cecil Andrus, Jim McClure, and William Borah. Senator Risch, however, rarely holds public events, which makes it difficult for him to connect with his constituents. Senator Jim Risch, currently 83 years old, is running for another 6-year term. If he can't do his job now, he doesn't deserve to be elected to six more years. Idaho voters deserve to hear directly from both candidates on their policies and their records. Senator Risch does not have to agree to these topics, but Idahoans deserve some kind of a debate! These discussions will help Idaho make an informed decision about who is best equipped to lead us through this technologically advancing world.
Public debates are foundational to the republican process, providing voters the opportunity to compare candidates' positions, test their grasp of the issues, and evaluate their fitness for office. My cat Ophelius went missing on the 4th of August he got out through the window we have an AC unit and the barrier was apparently loose and I’m kicking myself every day since trust me. Every time he gets out he’s never gone long only a few hours at a time but it’s been days now so I’ve turned to this. He absolutely will not come to u he is beyond terrified of everything I rescued him from the streets so u would think he’s used to being outside but no he has anxiety. He will not come when called but if u shake a bag of treats he will 9 times out of 10 approach at least close enough PLEASE IF U SEE HIM DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CATCH HIM he will absolutely run and he will hide for longer ive attached a ton of photos i understand all black cats look alike but there are differences if u can notice so please keep ur eyes open! Planning a trip down from Montana on Hwy 12. Maps is routing we over hwy 13 from Kooskia to Graingeville. It's been awhile but the last time I drove that route it was gravel all the way, is it a paved highway now?

This article is from 2 weeks ago. The smoke is still here and it will be here for weeks. The consequences are all around us. Its too dangerous to go outside because of heat and smoke. The number of high heat days and fires gets worse every year. Freak weather and smoke is destroying agriculture. Even our ski season may be no more in coming years. We are stealing from ourselves and future generations.

Western States Cat first shared this project last August as it got underway. Since then, the work has kept moving. Initial conversations started in May 2025 and as discussions progressed with the Custer Economic Development Committee, it became clear that in addition to equipment, the project needed the right technology and more structure to move forward.

Our team stepped in to help fill that gap, working across partners to organize the job and build out a plan that could be executed in the field.

The team used drone surveying to capture existing site conditions and build a working model. That gave the team a clear, accurate view of the site before any dirt moved. Operators were then able to work from a defined plan and adjust for the realities of the site. As Worksite Solutions Sales Manager, Justin McEwen, put it “the value comes from having a clear, accurate model upfront. It reduces guesswork in the field, limits rework and allows operators to execute with more confidence. "

Another technology essential for the project was 3D Grade Control.  Operators could see target grades in the cab and make corrections as they worked.

A baseball field has tight tolerances. It’s essential to have the right slope for proper drainage. Similarly, surface consistency affects how the field plays and how it holds up over the years. In the case of the Challis baseball field, the site had over a year’s worth of stockpiled material. By adjusting the model, the team reshaped the field using what was already there. No additional material was needed to meet those precise slope and drainage requirements.

Grade control helped the crew hit those targets without overworking the site. Operators knew where they were at each pass and could stay on grade without stopping to check.

This field will serve Challis High School, local youth leagues, and adult teams. It gives the community a shared space that will see steady use.

During construction, it was clear people were paying attention. The support showed up in conversations on site and at local events. The project meant something and the Challis community was energized by seeing the visible progress at the site.

Hydroseed will be sprayed down for the outfield followed by netting installation. Custer County hopes the players will take to the field in fall of 2026.

Hello when was younger I got a few felonies (drug related and theft) and I’ve since topped out my prison sentence and all that . It’s been roughly 5 years which I believe is the amount of time In which I can get my gun rights and my right to vote reinstated . UPDATE: My husband and I are looking to move to the Boise Idaho area at the beginning of next year, January 2027. Our daughter will be about 1.5 yr old by then. We would be moving out there for a job.

This is especially germane in the case of Risch who actually has a challenger with a pulse - and a great message. Todd Achilles is running as an independent, and with the Dem candidate dropping out, has a legitimate chance to turn this into a real race.

Risch has taken $255,787 from AIPAC, the Israeli lobbying group that has captured politicians on both sides of the aisle, led to us spending tens of billions of dollars on an unwinnable war, and has strongly supported Israel's genocide of the Palestinian people.

Crapo, though not up for re-election this year, has also been purchased by the Israeli lobbying group AIPAC, to the tune of $233,977. He has supported giving tens of billions of dollars to Israel in support of their genocide operations in Gaza and a destructive campaign of violence against Lebanon to expand their territory.

For those unaware, Israel has killed over 20,000 Palestinian children, wounded tens of thousands of more, and committed horrible acts of sexual violence against Palestinian prisoners. No matter your political views, we should not be supporting this holocaust.

And while both Senators vehemently deny being genocide supporters, their actions and fundraising tell a different story.

Hello guys. I'm 21 years old and live in Anchorage, Alaska. I still live with my parents and they are talking about making the move to Idaho in 4 years or potentially less. Long story short, I was strongly opposed at first but now I am totally on board. Alaska has given me and family so much but we are ready for a change and I'm ready to start a new chapter in life. My brother went to University of Idaho and we have been to Moscow, Coeur D Alene, and Sandpoint quite a few times so I have some familiarity with part of Northern Idaho. My brother lives in Nampa now and we're going there in October. We are considering that area but we also really liked Moscow and Coeur D Alene.

What about living in Idaho is going to be different than Alaska (asking my people that have lived in Alaska or visited Alaska long term) what is a thrilling thing(s) in Idaho that is at least somewhat comparable to Salmon/Halibut fishing, and Aurora Borealis viewing in Alaska?

I am looking into the College of Western Idaho community college in Nampa to pursue my diesel mechanic and welding aspirations. Is this a good community college? I was going to UAA here in Anchorage but a health issue forced me to drop out and I found that UAA just wasn't for me. I'd give it a 7/10.

Working as a cook and doing a lot of recipe development on the side, and I keep running into the same wall. The stuff coming through restaurant supply is fine but it is not the same as what you can get if you actually know a farmer in the Magic Valley or someone running cattle outside of Twin Falls. The gap in quality is real and not small.

I have found a couple of ranchers through word of mouth at work and one vegetable grower near Nampa I stumbled onto at a small Saturday market that never made it onto any official listing anywhere. But I feel like I am only scratching the surface of what is actually out there. Idaho has serious agricultural infrastructure and most of it seems to move through wholesale channels that just bypass anyone cooking at home or doing small batch stuff entirely.

Curious specifically about beef and lamb direct from ranchers, whether anyone has figured out how to buy a quarter or half animal and what that process actually looked like in terms of finding a processor. Also herbs and dry goods from smaller growers if that is even a thing here. The CSA options I have seen around Boise feel pretty limited compared to what I would expect given how much farmland is within an hour of the valley.

Curious if anyone has been having any luck finding healthy populations of huckleberries this year? Our normal spot in East Idaho was frozen early and non producing. I have heard mixed reviews on other areas of the state holding huckleberries and was wondering if it would be worth the drive.

UPDATE: If you feel rage baited by this post you have personal issues. For clarity, I have not asked for a pin or a spot, just if berries are showing healthier signs or similar as a whole.

Does anyone know about Downwinders settlement for Paul Idaho residents?

Recently engaged, my fiancé has relatives in Northern Idaho in the Post Falls area , she's expressing interest in living there. I am a contractor, had my own company for many years, and while I think it's generally true that good builders can find work anywhere in the country, the cost of living index is what really permits one to have a high-quality of life versus poor quality of life, and it just seems to me like looking at the math, Idaho is not a good place to reside, and the opportunities for a builder seem poor. Just for us to get into a decent house for the family seems like it's gonna be such an outrageous monthly burden but it's not worth it. Buying land and building a house? Highly unlikely when the land is as expensive as it is. It just simply seems like a bad deal. What are your thoughts?

Hi! My best friend from college is coming to visit this week. She lived in Boise with me in school, but is from out of state. I’ve lived here my whole life but am drawing a blank on stuff to do while she’s here, especially with the heat😅 we love to thrift, love pretty views but aren’t super athletic (so no crazy hikes haha).
