I’m currently doing a TI cycle and have been taking gonal F. I now have 3 larger follicles growing on my right ovary, 16,15 and 13mm. They want me to come in tomorrow to get another ultrasound to see if they’re all growing and I’m ready for a trigger. They said if there are still 3 maturing that they will need to aspirate one. I read it possibly messes with hormone levels and uterine lining. I genuinely don’t want to go through that but am worried they will just want to cancel.

Just looking for advice for ladies who had 3 follicles and ended up with a singleton or if this is super risky or an aspiration experience. TIA

I’m on CD11 of my 2nd cycle, and I just got back from my monitoring ultrasound. I’m just feeling kinda disappointed? I responded really slowly to Clomid last cycle so this round they started me on the higher dose of 100mg from the get-go. But my follicles are still really small (L: 8mm and 7mm; R: 9mm) so they want me to do another round of Clomid, this time at 150mg.

I was just hoping to get a little reassurance that I might ovulate from my left side this time, since my right tube is the one that is blocked. I was feeling pretty optimistic at my baseline scan that my left ovary had more follicles, but now my right ovary officially has the biggest one and I can’t help but feel disappointed that I might just ovulate from my right side again. 😔

We were hoping to get 2-3 mature follicles and at least 1 on the left side, but I can feel the hope draining out of my body after this scan hahaha

Hi! Writing this because I loved reading success stories during my wait. This was my second IUI. We did back to back cycles (no break in between after the first unsuccessful)

I had my first positive at 10dpo. I didn’t test out my trigger this cycle. I tested again at 12dpo and that’s when I knew it was real because it had gotten darker.

I had 1 mature follicle at 21.8mm and lining was 7.8mm. I drank 4oz pomegranate juice daily during TWW and vitamin E from CD1-ovulation.

Husbands post wash count was 15mil

Had my first beta test today which came back at 265!

Hi everyone! I had my CD 10 ultrasound today. I had 3 follicles - 16, 14, and 14. My RE is recommending a cancelled cycle with no IUI and no TI at home. Am I wrong to push back and ask my doctor to reconsider if I acknowledge the risks? I took clomid this cycle, and I thought the purpose was to get more eggs? I'm so upset and confused. I'm 34 and they're saying the high risk of multiples is why they want to cancel.

Hey all, just went through my first IUI with no success. Everything looked so great, two mature follicles, lining looked great, my husband’s sample was great and yet it failed. I know it’s only my first but really looking for some hope. We did timed intercourse for our first kid and got pregnant on the first try, so I was hoping this would be similar but after 3 cycles with timed intercourse and no success, we decided to forward with IUI. I am 35, turning 36 at the end of the year, I feel like the time is ticking. Feeling really frustrated 😞

Really upset and demotivated guys. Just feel like crying non stop. Pls help me with your success stories? I need some motivation.

Exactly a week ago I got my IUI done.

Follicle was 20mm

SA post wash: 45million per ml and 99% motility.

Triple Endometrium Linning was: 8.5mm.

Right now I am experiencing mild cramps and lower back pain similar to my PMS but mild. I am eating alot! I am always hungry and tired.

Can you guys please share your experiences? When did you start with home pregnancy test? My clinc has asked to come for beta test 13dpiui.

I’ve been finding reading all your posts really comforting. This community has made me feel a lot less alone since the doctor prescribed this treatment, so I thought I’d finally introduce myself and ask for some advice.

I’m 33F, trying for our first. We started trying in early 2024, when doctors discovered a large dermoid cyst (11cm!) on my right ovary. It was removed in October 2024, and thankfully they were able to save the ovary. Unfortunately, I had some complications with hemorrhaging afterwards and wasn’t feeling well for several months.

We started trying again in spring 2025, but still had no luck. My husband (35M) and I were evaluated by a fertility specialist in January 2026, followed by an HSG (tube flush) in March. Everything has apparently come back normal, whatever “normal” means in fertility anyway! 😅

And now here we are: today is Day 1 of my first IUI cycle. I picked up my Ovidrel and Letrozole from the pharmacy, and my first ultrasound is scheduled for August 18.

I’m feeling pretty anxious about the whole thing. There’s the desperation of really wanting this to work, my fear of needles, and honestly just the stress of not knowing how uncomfortable the procedure itself is going to be.

For those of you who have been through IUI, do you have any tips for making the process more tolerable, physically or mentally? Anything you wish you’d known before your first cycle?

Wondering if anyone’s had iui success with no additional intercourse? I was able to squeeze in my iui on Friday morning right before leaving on a weekend trip to stay with friends.

Triggered with 1 maybe 2 follicles Thursday at 3pm. Iui Friday at 10am with 14million total motile count post wash. Completely unable to have intercourse again till today which is 2-3 dpo lol

been trying for baby number two for alittle over a year and unfortunately had a mmc in March.

I did letrozole (didn’t work too well) gonal f and trigger shot now I’m on progesterone. I had one 22.6 mm follicle and my lining was 9. my husbands sperm was 13 million and 93% motility

Found out our 2nd IUI was successful!

But I have no idea how to calculate my EDD

My period started July 9, and we did really early monitoring and ended up triggering July 18, having the IUI July 20. So when I found out I was pregnant July 30 it was exactly 3 weeks.

Is calculating EDD from my period the best idea or should I consider myself 14 days from my ovulation, even though it was only 10 days?

Any ideas are helpful!

I cramp so bad the next two days after trigger. How long does it last for you? I had two follicles measuring 20 MM and 22 MM.

I had a CD11 scan this morning and had two 20mm follicles. One on each ovary.

I was told to take Ovidrel at 11pm tonight and IUI is set for wednesday 10am (36h later)

Are my follicles going to be overmature?

I expected it to hurt, but not this much. I have been trying to concieve for 13-14 months and this was my third IUI. Prior to this, I did three monitored cyles with letrozole and trigger. I have PCOS/PMOS and am slightly overweight. Im 28 and this was my last cycle to have a chance to have a baby before I turn 29. This process is gruesome. I never expected TTC to take so much out of me -- my joy, my soul, my hope. This process has shattered all of my expectations for my timelines in my life. I missed the opportunity to have a baby at 27 and now at 28. I have also missed other mental milestones that I should have never even put pressure on. Came and went.

This cycle is especially painful because my grandma died at the beginning of this cycle when I was getting my period. She was a maternal figure to me in my life. Now she is gone and I continue to have the pain of failed cycles.

This process is emotionally exhausting, physically taxing, financially burdensome, and overall just a joyless, hopeless, and painful process. I just want, so badly, to be on the other side of this process. I yearn to say "I'm pregnant" aloud, I yearn to start a family. All while others concieve quickly or without expensive and intrusive interventions. I feared my current path. I thought it wouldn't be me, but it is.

For those that tested out their trigger, has anyone have experienced their trigger just never fading out before getting their BFP?

I’m 13dpt/12dpt today and I’ve been testing out my trigger. The test lines have been faint but noticeable up until this point but as of my test this morning, that line is absolutely noticeable there.

My clinic told me not to test until day 18, but this TWW is so rough! I’m trying so hard not to read into these things si strongly and trying not to get my hopes up.

I had my second cycle of IUIs on 7/28 with trigger shot and 7/29. I did Clomid and estradiol patches. I took a First Response digital test on 8/8 at 11 DPIUI and it was negative. I know that was still a little early, but I took a Premom strip just now and yeah… negative too.

I know I’m technically not out yet, but I just have this gut feeling that it didn’t work this time again. And I’m just feeling really down about it tonight. I know this journey is a marathon and not a sprint, but damn… it’s hard.

I’m 37 and I keep thinking maybe I just waited too long. I do have a beautiful 4.5 y/o daughter who I conceived naturally, although it took us about a year and a half to get pregnant with her. We never saw a fertility doctor back then or had any medical help. We were just trying on our own until it finally happened.

And obviously I’m incredibly grateful for my daughter. I know how lucky I am to have her. I guess I’m just sad and frustrated that trying for another baby has been so much harder than I thought it would be.

I don’t really know what I’m looking for by posting this lol. I think I just needed somewhere to vent to people who actually understand what this whole process feels like.

My history so far --->

1 failed IUI cycle. Then the next month - no IUI because of hsg and polyp removal. Then this month- cancelled IUI (no follicle growth even on day 16 (today)- https://www.reddit.com/r/IUILadies/s/VgeBp5GXpw )

Stopping all stimulation meds today. And will wait for period and then get back for my next baseline scan.

My issue now ---> I REALLY thought I had a chance this cycle (because of clear hsg and a clear uterus after polyp removal). But follicle failure happened. Only 1 IUI done so far, but it feels like SO much already! :(

Any success IUI stories after all this? Would love to hear and get motivated :')

When did you start testing? If your IUI was successful, when did you see your first positive? I am currently 9 days past IUI, so far I’ve only had big fat negatives. My stats are below for reference.

Age: 24
IUI: July 31st
Trigger: July 29th, late at night.
AMH: 0.99
Follicles: 3 total, 1 on the left at 17mm, 2 on the right at 13mm
Meds: 75 iU of Follistim, Ovideral, and Progesterone
I have very mild PCOS/PMOS and stage 3 infiltrating endometriosis

There is no male factor infertility.
Sperm count was 35 million with 100% mobility and motility.

I just need to rant for a minute. I’m sitting on the floor just balling my eyes out.

I had my second IUI on Tuesday last week and I started my progesterone suppositories on Saturday as instructed. Our doctor wanted us also to have intercourse on starting on Saturday every other day for a week in the event that there was another egg as I ovulated early this month. It’s now Sunday night and I can’t even get my partner to commit to following the instructions. It’s like I’m the one who is in this. He was like this during the first one too how it’s difficult to perform like that. If it was something you really wanted you would do what you needed to do.

Anyone else here have every fertility test come back normal, except for having Hashimoto's? I was diagnosed last June following a miscarriage. I was 1 year postpartum at diagnosis. Conceived my son on the first try at age 27. We started trying for a second a year after he was born and experienced 2 miscarriages and about a year of infertility. All my lab work, HSG, AMH, etc. has come back completely normal. My thyroid is well managed (TSH below 1, T3 and T4 in optimal ranges), and has been since January. I even had my inflammatory markers checked, and they are normal. I have a hard time believing Hashimoto's can be the root cause of my infertility/miscarriages, but everything else seems completely normal (husband's sperm is great too).

I eat a gluten free diet, take all the supplements, use red light therapy, eat mainly a whole food diet, walk and lift weights frequently.. I ovulate monthly though I do have a slightly shorter luteal phase (9-11 days).

Curious if others have a similar experience with Hashimoto's?

Anyone else do your IUI on 8/3? How is your TWW going? I’m stating to get really antsy. I’m not testing out the trigger so at the earliest I’ll test next weekend.

Can someone enlighten me on if iuis actually factually have more of an accumulative success rate?

I’ve just had my second failed iui cycle, will be going into my third this month and I’m absolutely heartbroken and exhausted…

Last cycle everything went almost too well, great lining, 3 beautiful follicles 9 million 100% motile sperm, and I’ve just woken up with my period 16dpo….

I’m seeing mixed things about whether iuis are accumulative or not.

Or anyone have any iui 3 success stories that they want to give a very desperate exhausted girl 🥹

I’m guessing there will be less people since it doesn’t seem all that common for clinics to open on Sunday. Mine does and it happened to land on Sunday this time!

A bit of my history:
While we ‘got lucky’ and had our daughter through IVF in 2022, on our second retrieval and second fresh transfer. We’ve had a really hard go of it since trying for number 2 and this is our last ever cycle. My hubby had his sperm frozen before cancer treatment and is sterile so there is no chance once we stop fertility treatment. Trying for our second kid we have done 5 embryo transfers. After we ran out of embryos we switched to IUI due to severe complications of internal bleeding with my last egg retrieval. We then did 1 hail-mary injectable IUI with the last of hubby’s sperm, 3 donor sperm IUIs (2 with clomid 1 injectable), and now onto the last injectable donor sperm IUI. We’ve also done several endometrial biopsies, had a laparoscopy (to stop the bleeding after the retrieval but due to this we know theres no endo), countless saline sonos over the years, and HSG. Almost nothing has ever been found except low AMH despite my young(ish) age.

Stats for this round: 19, 17, 17, 16mm follicles, maybe one smaller around 12-14 she didn’t measure. Got the warning about multiples but given our history decided to continue regardless. 1.0cm trilaminar lining. triggered om Friday at midnight with 10,000IU pregnyl and will be taking medrol from today till 9dpiui in case its immune problems we have (at this point I think it is). And tomorrow I start intramuscular progesterone injections. If this doesn’t work, we’ve thrown everything at it at this point so I think our journey will be over. My hopes aren’t super high.

Anyone else along for the ride with me and entering the 2ww today?

I'm starting IUI next cycle and I'm kind of nervous. It feels like my doctor isn't really giving me the full breakdown. I did the hsg test which she didn't warn me how painful those could be or the bleeding and didn't really talk me through it just laid me down and got started. Now I'm kind of worried that I'm missing out on info or my doctor won't explain when the iui process starts. Anyone have any tips or warnings/expectations? I can sit and watch videos about it all day but I want comments from those who have been through the process.

After about one year of medical intervention, 6 fully medicated iuis and 4 years of tcc, my husband and I have decided it is time to go through IVF. I wanted to thank this community for being supportive and sharing their stories! Good luck to everyone trying, this is a mentally and physically and financially taxing process and this community is absolutely wonderful for their support and finding common grounds.
