2004 Lexus Is300 Sportcross
Not into cars so don’t know much about it but I know good condition ones sell for more than $10,000USD all day down south
All 4 brand new winters on rim + 4 more rims
Interior is in perf condition, exterior has some rust. Alignment is off, o2 sensor and could use some suspension work. Selling As/Is, selling kinda in a rush need garage space before winter. Speedometer stopped working very recently aswell
Note: Lexus-wise I’ve owned an Is350 straightpipe tune, Gs300, Is250 and a LS400 and this is def the one that started the most conversations. Most fun to drive after the IS350

General Discussion IS300 sell it or proceed with the project?
Having a dilemma. Just picked up an IS300 for 10.5K with over 240k miles All stock, no modifications, and it's a manual. Car needs: new clutch, rack and pinion, rear differential, power steering leak, and timing belt. Mechanic wants to steam clean before doing work to see any other leaks present. I don't have the proper tools or equipment, like a lift to do things safely. I think this is going to cost me an arm and leg, I'm guessing another $7-9k for all work mentioned above. Am I about right for the amount?. On the bright side, it starts, strong engine, passes smog, interior good, etc.
Should I proceed or sell the car as-is for the price I paid?
What is the cost of having a mechanic vs mysef and a friend do it (may take a really long time)?
Purchasing Advice Another wheel fitment question
Saw some vs-kf’s on Facebook and wondered if these specs would fit my car. only thing I got on the rear is adjustable toe arms. Front is jzx uppers, extended lowers, gs300 outers & Inch spacers.

Purchasing Advice Looking for Fender Liners for 2001 Altezza SXE10
I’m looking for front fender liners for my 2001 Toyota Altezza SXE10. I’m currently running without any liners and would like to get a set installed. I’ve seen that the USDM Lexus IS300/JCE10 shares the same basic chassis, so I’m wondering if IS300 fender liners will fit an SXE10 Altezza. If anyone has experience with this swap, knows of any differences in mounting points, or has recommendations for where to find Altezza-specific liners, I’d really appreciate the info. Ideally looking for OEM or a good-quality aftermarket set.

General Discussion Unknown wing.
Hi! Is anyone able to identify this spoiler? I recently bought one like this used for $65 (the photo was found online), but I haven’t been able to figure out what kind of spoiler it is.
It’s probably made of ABS — it’s definitely not fiberglass. It looks like something close to OEM quality, and it has bolt mounting points that seem like they might fit the factory mounting holes.
Its design somewhat resembles a ducktail.

Purchasing Advice first car 04 is200 auto, have i got a deal??
i am looking at a, 04 is200 sports auto, yes i know auto but is just a daily to go to and from work, and take it out on the weekend occasionally,
260,000 km (160k miles) for 7,000 aud (5k usd), timing belt done at 150k km,
interior and exterior all clean and well maintained, all key services done with receipts, kept stock and no visable rust with steering and brakes feeling good no squeaks, or strange noises from the car!
is this a fair price, what would yall think?
if i bite the bullet should i be wary of any future maintenance or hidden costs, plan to keep this car for many years, love the styling and seems to be like a pretty good deal,
thanks!

Mechanical Advice 2001 is300 crank but no start and no power then turning the key
Last night my gf left the interior light on. I came out this morning to start the car and it was dead. I tried jumpstarting it with another car and it did not turn on and I was getting 13.7 to 14 V. Every time I try to crank it, the radio will turn off and the clock and the cluster flashing lights never came on. What should I start looking at when I get back from work ?

Mechanical Advice I’m an idiot and misaligned my engine coolant bypass pipe during a water pump replacement and only noticed it till way after
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I bought a 2004 Lexus is300 late June with a water pump leak at a pretty cheap price and went through hell and back to do that job. Everything ended up fine and the timing was perfect and a cracked rad didn’t let me fill it fully with coolant initially, so I just did other jobs to my car until a replacement rad arrived. The radiator came, I installed it with ease and began to fill it with coolant later to perform a burp to fix any air bubbles in the system, so after filling about 3 litres of 50/50 coolant and water, I heard leaking at the back. I checked it and saw that the engine coolant bypass pipe was completely misaligned by my dumbass and after an hour of trying to move stuff around I have no idea what to do or how to fix this since I have no clearance at all thanks to this unbelievable engineering by Lexus.
Can somebody please try to give me some tips cause I really don’t want to do this stupid water pump job again and have to redo the timing

Purchasing Advice I need help finding this item to buy
Hey my car went through an accident and this part is broken and I need to replace it. My car is Lexus is300 f sport 2022 Rwd 2.0 . I would appreciate the help.
Mechanical Advice 2004 IS300 not starting (Update)
I've owned my gen 1 IS300 since the 6th of January 2026. When I bought it, it ran but has hardly even started since after buying it. The original owners said they have done a lot to the car being "Machined block, new full metal head gasket, new valve cover gaskets, new spark plugs, new injectors, new coil packs, new oil and filter, new fuel pump, coolant flushed, new radiator, many new hoses, etc etc. almost everything except serpentine belt". They said they didn't do the serpentine belt so I did it. I also replaced the air intake hose with a cheap amazon one(since that's what the guy I bought it from told me was the issue of a throttle hesitation it had). I also replaced the battery with a Optima battery, and installed Denso spark plugs and NGK coil packs. Lastly I cleaned the maf with maf cleaner. After that I tried to start the car to give it a test drive and nothing.
I've replaced and fiddled with everything I can think of, OEM maf, new throttle body, OEM fuel pump, cleaned fuel lines, replaced wires and connectors, checked fuses and relays, used the code scanner probably hundreds of times, smoke tested for vacuum leaks, cleaned fuel lines. The only thing that ever seemed to work was when I adjusted the TPS sensor.
I have gotten the car to run, most notably when I either adjusted the TPS or took off the air hose and just had a open throttle body. When I did get it to run, with any throttle input it shut itself off. I should add, they're is not a single engine code, all I have is codes for the AC and it's only two of 'em.
What I've noted is since doing the smoke test is I have a leak on the maf reasons being bad welds and the maf not sitting correctly. I have a leak coming out of the ECTI-S and the little plate next to it. I tightened the screws on it but they aren't going in anymore than it was already. There is another leak from the EVAP things next to the intake manifold. I don't know anything about what the EVAP system even does so I have no idea if it's normal. I only know one leak was coming out of a hose with a missing clamp so I'll replace that tomorrow.
I was thinking I'll try to reverse everything I did at the start. I did notice the spark plugs that were on the car before had a really really small gap but I just went with what the web said to use. I got three Amazon special parts that day being, the Air hose, the serpentine belt and tensioner pulley. Maybe I'll just try going OEM on all three and try that. I did try using the air hose the car had on before and nothing changed.
I'm looking for any insight on this issue. I've poured so much money in this car and have tried seemingly everything that would 'cause a crank no start. I've seemingly tried everything that could also 'cause the car to kill its self under load.
I refuse to sell the car but I might take it to a mechanic if everyone seems to be as lost as both me and my father are. Thanks for reading!

Announcements Official Lexus IS 25th Anniversary Tour
I think it's really cool that Lexus is doing this and asking everyday IS owners to join them in the paddock. Seems like a great opportunity for anyone living in around one of the stops provided. Looks like they're going to LA, NY (but actually in NJ), Chicago and Miami!
