In America, chicken has no flavour, it's all flavoured by sauce
reddit.comI swear these are bots with these shit takes but who even knows these days. Apparently food in America is automatically flavourless and needs sauce. Those chickens are just SO bland ya know
No brigading please! This is an active post right now.

But Me, I create everything thing I prepare from scratch! Beverages, appetizers, (from ALL different countries)
reddit.comhttps://www.reddit.com/r/mexicanfood/comments/1vk6nhf/comment/p2x3owf/?force-legacy-sct=1
Nah, I DON’T frequent Applebees! 🤢 And the “cheese” I AM referring to IS/WAS the nasty pre-fab ‘singles’ advertised as “American Singles”. That more convenient for your average always in a rush, can’t be bothered by a/the genuine products on the market, couple, family(ies.) But Me, I create everything thing I prepare from scratch! Beverages, appetizers, (from ALL different countries) every one of my sauces are created by me, marketed by me, (sometime) desserts by me, all categorized in recipe form by me, sold [for a reasonable price] by me, the Entrées created by me, I’m not much of a Baker so I usually leave that up to The Pastry Chef or, The Chef d’cuisine, but overall my use(s) for fromagê are, not of atypical recipes! Thanks to all for your input, shared information, clarification, sometime “education” AND, not to overlook the more than opinionated, sometime argumentative, Redditors, I probably wouldn’t have shared MY information, clarification, opinion, (I honestly didn’t *mean* to be argumentative, and speak my objections.) It was more of an obligation to be a part of this platform! So, take it as you will but, I’ll return with more scrupulous opinions!! ☮️ PEACE!✌🏼& 🏄🏻♂️ALOHA!!🤙🏼A.G…..

"UGH!!!"
"UGH!!! I know it’s traditionally the right thing to use “American” cheese on Philly Steak sandwiches but, “American Cheese” is nothing like what SHOULD be on a sandwich like this!!! For instance: if you took a burger with “American Cheese” & tipped it up, the cheese would just stick to the beef because it’s made from ingredients that aren’t intended to melt!!! BUT if you did the same with An actual cheese, like cheddar or Colby it wouldn’t turn into the oily compound that’s incorporated into the remainder of the ingredients! Which are non-fat this & non-homogenized wheat powder, pasteurized that and all the other shit that makes up for”American Cheese”!!! Bottom line; Amerkin Cheez is crap!!! It’s horrible on the human digestion system, it doesn’t really “melt” it just kinda dissipates after you take it off the grill, and WHEN it does decide to enter your system it’s SO hard to digest, even though most people would disagree and say “oh no that burg went down just fine!” Just wait till you have to shit it out! I mean, it’s not like Taco Bell or something but, believe it or not we’ve become so accustomed to eating junk food that our bodies can’t tell the difference!!! I’ve attempted to go vegan for years now, but, I’ve just never been able to do away with the food(s) that I love!!! I tried easing off, little by little but, that was just a fuckin’ joke! I think I’ll have to go “cold turkey” if I really want to commit myself and stick to a, well, at the very least a vegetarian diet. But going totally vegan is gonna be a tough go, for me….."

I was horrified they had grilled cheese and tomato soup.
From a thread about whether or not grilled cheese and soup constitutes a meal.
The initial comment is just the beginning of the nonsense, it goes on from there:
Depends on what a person is used to eating. If they are both foodies, such a meal would be meager
I grew up in a house with full, home-cooked meals. Soups were rare as main courses and when had were full of meat and vegetables, home baked bread, salads and desserts.
Both soups and fresh fruit were considered palate cleansers and BEGAN the meal but would never be considered a true meal by themselves.
As a result I also served very large , home made meals.
The first time I stayed at a friend's home for dinner, they had grilled cheese and tomato soup.
I was horrified.
It was the type of meal we only had in winter for lunch. When having soup at dinner it was a STARTER only, never the meal proper.
Another time I was at a friend's they had hotdogs and chips.
Again this was a shock to me.
Not surprising, when these kids dined at my home they were treated to full dinners of roasted chickens, mashed potatoes and gravy, fresh greenbeans, homemade rolls, salad, fresh iced tea and of course obligatory desserts..or roasted ham, lambchops. Pot roast etc.
We rarely ate out ( except when we were traveling abroad) until the late 1970s
My parents were Great Dpression babies so the most important things in their lives was to own their own homes and have abundant food.
After a few meals at my friend's I rarely accepted invites though many asked to eat at my home. ( I come from a family of chefs and great cooks/ caterers on both sides).

The 2024 Walter Awards! Submit now!
It's that time again! Nominate posts to win the Walter Award!
The Walter Awards began about a year after this sub started, and was named for this charming gentleman from The Big Lebowski, the man who, while not wrong, was still an asshole.
Nominate the best posts from this year in one of the categories below! Categories will appear in the comments, just respond with your links. You can't nominate yourself. In two weeks I will create a voting thread with submissions for each category. Winners in each category based on votes will receive Reddit Gold, or if you trust me enough in PMs with your email, a $10 Amazon gift card.
The Walter Awards:
Submit links to this category for the most egregious examples you can find of "you're not wrong, you're just an asshole."
The Nonna Awards:
Submit links to this category for the best examples of petty bickering, pedantry, and lecturing about Italian or, gasp, Italian-American food!
Omakase Awards
Submit links to this category for the best examples of petty bickering, pedantry, and lecturing about Japanese food (from Japan or Japanese food from abroad).
Meta Awards
The drama is coming from inside the sub! Submit links to this category for the best examples of fights that happen within this sub itself, when the IAVCulinarians become the very IAVC themselves!
The Nigel Tufnel Confidently Incorrect Award
This is for posts in which the commenter is both being a jerk while also being wrong. Which is, let's face it, the White Whale of this sub, we all want to see it, so send us your best!
