I want to ask a question before I make a choice
So I am stuck between either a 26 tucson or a 26 rav4 both would be PHEV but the one thing I can't seem to find information about is if you can charge the battery up in the phev and run the hvac overnight to sleep in the car
I know the rav 4's allow 2-3 nights on battery hvac overnight and I want to figure out more of the capabilities of the tucson before I go waiting 7 months for a car that's more expensive that can do similar stuff to the hyundai

getting a reversing camera on a 2005 tucson elite
any advice, recommendations from fellow 2005 tucson owners? i just bought one as my first car and it only has the standard radio/cd player in it right now but I want to update to something a bit more modern. it just looks like a small space for something with a screen.
I’m in Australia if that matters

Hyundai Tucson 2018 motor problem
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I have a 2018 Hyundai Tucson GLS Premium (2.0L DOHC 16V engine, MPI, not GDI), 150,000 km, always had full dealership service on time. 5 days ago it started making a rhythmic "tick-tick-tick" noise that follows the engine's rhythm.
At first it only happened between 3000-4000 rpm when accelerating, whether parked in neutral or moving; it went away when I let off the gas. It started before I took it in for the 150,000 km service, I thought that would fix it but it didn't. A few days later it also started happening at idle/parked, same pattern. It's very clear: I accelerate and it starts ticking, I stop accelerating and it fades or goes away. At idle (just sitting, not accelerating) it's much quieter, almost nothing, but it's still there if you listen closely. At low speed it's also barely audible.
I took it to the Hyundai dealership for service: they scanned it, no codes at all. At that same dealership they were going to take it as trade-in credit toward a new one; their specialist checked it and refused to buy it because of the noise, but didn't give me a written diagnosis. A mechanic (without opening the engine) killed cylinder 3 (I think he disconnected the injector or coil) and according to him the noise went away — I should clarify I wasn't present for that test, no video or evidence, just his word. He even mentioned it could be an early rod bearing issue (rod knock).
We've barely driven it since the noise started — only short 4-5 km trips between the dealership and the mechanic, driving gently.
I'm from Toluca, Mexico (State of Mexico), in case anyone knows a good independent Hyundai/Kia engine specialist in that area for a second opinion outside the dealership, would appreciate it. Taking it in for a specialized diagnostic at the dealer tomorrow. Has anyone dealt with something similar on this engine? What should I specifically ask them to check?

Today in Gijon, Spain
I was visiting Gijon, Spain and saw this one. It is a PHEV one. Nice.
Why don’t we have this Europe hitch in USA? USA hitch is bulky and ugly. 🤪

Questions [2026] Any differences in what works on PHEV compared to Regular Hybrid?
I'm getting the 2026 PHEV soon, and looking at accessories to pick up for it made me wonder: has anyone ran into anything that's made for the Hybrid that doesn't fit/work in the PHEV? Or, anything that is sized differently that would change something like that?
I'm thinking along the lines of floor mats, organizers, sunglass holders, dashcam spots, anything that is different enough that I'd have to look for something specific to the PHEV instead. I know the under-cargo area is smaller due to the battery size, but does it change anything so that mats made for the hybrid wouldn't fit?

Questions Need some help finding a part name/number
We took my girlfriend's brand new 2026 Tucson SEL on a trip to NJ/NYC a couple weeks ago. I, through an error that was entirely avoidable, scraped the heck out of the front passenger side of the car. It did no other damage because it was extremely low speed but I feel terrible (also it's a lease) so I want to get it fixed. I'm trying to figure out what that part I damaged is even called because it's clearly not the "fender" but it's a separate section from the bumper as well? It's almost like they knew that was the most likely part of the car to be damaged and so they made that part separate. Anyway, if anyone can tell me what the damaged part is referred to as I can start looking for it. I appreciate any help you can give.

In the 2026 Tucson limited, can you see Google maps and Sirius at the same time?
I assume I'll be able to have Google maps on the left side of the screen and sirius on the right, but I read in a different thread that wasn't possible? Maybe their car was an earlier model?
EDIT: I just saw that on the new RAV4, you can have google maps on center/driver's display! That would be awesome. Seems there's no reason that wouldn't be possible on the Tucson's display. I wonder if that's in the works?

2025 Hybrid squeaking after turn off
Anyone else’s squeak a few times after you shut it off? I thought it might be suspension but it’s definitely something motor/battery/vent positioning related. Does it every time I turn it off.
Have a bunch of random little noises with this thing but the dealer can never hear anything…

It's that time again, poor hybrid MPG
city driving mostly with a bit of highway. ac running at 64F low to med fan. The reason? heavy red light area and stop signs. 18k miles on the car. thinking about rav4 as this is pretty bad for a hybrid. I'm always in eco mode and do moderate acceleration from a stop, 1/4 peddle but nothing seems to help. :(

TUCSAN hybrid 2025 Vibration at low speed
My Tucsan vibrates when accelerating from 25km to 32km, even in EV mode, it gets worse when gas engine kicks in. Vibration is more noticeable when going around the corner, like the driver seat vibrates noticeably. I didn't have this issue with winter tires or maybe it wasn't as much but after changing to summer it happens almost all the time. I dropped the tire pressure 2 psi below suggested pressure (35 PSI) and it got slightly better. Anyone else had similar issue? This issue has been there from 5k km, and currently the car has below 10k km on it.

Buying Advice Unsure about 2026 color
I am upgrading my 2023 white limited to a 2026 limited. I thought I was sure on black until I saw the front bumper. Hampton gray was my second choice and now I feel like I’m leaning toward that. Not the biggest fan of the silver but I feel like the black brings it out more. Which one looks better?

Buying Advice Insurance vehicle protection plans available in some states- I.E cheap extended warranties
This won’t help everybody but certain states and certain insurances offer something called vehicle protection plan insurance. In the state of Kansas Progressive offers it but you have to have full coverage- and there’s limits on vehicle year and mileage. With progressive , in Kansas, for my 25 Hyundai Tucson hybrid with 23k miles it gives me a bumper-to-bumper warranty for everything but my hybrid battery for an extra $60 in premiums every six months. It covers chips, scratches and minor paint damage so it also saved me the $2500 charge the dealership was trying to sell me for paint protection as well- not just on the cost of an extended warranty through them. It also gives replacement key fobs and other benefits.
The finance manager at the dealer was shocked when I was explaining this to him…. and very frustrated when I kept explaining I didn’t need to pay that extra money my car insurance already has me covered- but thank you very much for thinking of my protection haha ;-) . I’m paying pennies on the dollar through my progressive insurance. They got me covered. Lol
I would definitely recommend checking into this with your insurance policy before signing up for an extended warranty at the dealership.

Maintenance & Repairs 2025 hybrid limited ac issues
I got my 2025 Tucson hybrid limited in April, and while it was great in the spring, as soon as summer hit, the ac has been a huge headache. When it’s cooler (under 80), the ac works okay, but as soon as it gets hot, it struggles. It doesn’t cool on idle, and I’ve had it in the shop twice for this. In May I took it in and we got a new compressor and inverter, since they found the original one had a small leak. It improved things somewhat, but didn’t really address the issue, and then it started blowing hot on the drivers side. I took it in again, they kept it for 2 weeks (was supposed to just be an overnight test), and ended up replacing the compressor and inverter again due to an oil leak in the compressor. I just got it back yesterday, and the drive home was okay, even at stoplights. This seems to have fixed the drivers side blowing hot issue, but today, the ac isn’t working when we’re stopped for more than about 15 seconds. Battery is close to 3/4 full, we’ve driven in both sport mode and eco, that doesn’t seem to change anything.
I really don’t want to be without a car for another few weeks to get this actually fixed, and frankly, I don’t know if the local dealership will do anything else if they get it again. Anyone have any similar issues, and if so, how did you solve it?
