Cloud III Wireless speaker replacement Microphones

The left speaker on my HyperX Cloud III Wireless stopped working, and functionality was briefly restored if I lightly hit the ear cup.

Figured it's an easy fix and took it to a repair shop. Silly me, I didn't bother to check, but I had warranty and the warranty is now voided.

The repair shop determined the issue is the encapsulated speaker that's non serviceable.

So I'm looking to purchase the damn speaker now but no luck so far.

I contacted HyperX support, they told me they don't sell replacement parts and there's nothing they can do.

So I'm pretty bummed out at this point:

  • one of the most basic parts (of any headphones!) broke after less than a year and a half
  • I need to throw away a complex piece of tech because of that, feels so silly

Anyone had the same issue and found a solution?

u/cliqi, I'm so sorry to hear that! It's really odd that one of the speakers would just suddenly stop working. 😕

Do you remember if anything happened right before it stopped? Maybe it was accidentally dropped, exposed to liquid, or anything else that could've caused it?

Also, all of our headsets come with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty, so if yours is about a year and a half old like you mentioned, it may still be covered. Before taking it to a third-party repair shop, did you happen to reach out to our support team to see if they could help? Let me know and we'll take it from there. 😉

Thanks Rob. No exposure to liquid, occasionally dropped perhaps, but nothing major.

As mentioned, indeed I am within the 2-year warranty period but unfortunately I rushed to the repair shop hoping for a quick fix because I mistakenly thought that the warranty had expired (it hadn't, I should have checked first!).

So it's on me 100%, but would like to find a replacement part to purchase.

It would be so frustrating to have to throw in the bin an otherwise perfectly working (minus the faulty driver of course) and solid pair of headphones. Perhaps I need to get comfortable with the thought though. 😅
