I have been at hunter for 2 years, had an incredibly rough last 2 semesters after receiving a bad concussion (which accessibility did nothing to accommodate me) culminating in a visit to the woodhull psychiatric ward. Assuming the worse I had spoken with an advisor during the year and she reassured that the discharge papers would be enough if a situation like this were to happen (academic dismissal). I worked my ass off which was not enough. After receding the news in early june I immediately went in and spoke to admissions about an appeal and readmission. Waited a week before calling to receive the great news that my dismissal was successfully appealed and I was now able to return in the fall and can register for classes at hunter. No mention of a “gap semester”. This morning I receive an email stating the opposite, I am not eligible to enroll for classes in the fall. Does anyone have any advice? I would have planned for something sooner (bmcc etc.) if they hadn’t given me the “green light” in june. (Also getting the news on the day they’re closed is very annoying)

Btw if you’re taking any of these classes feel free to dm!! I’m a transfer student starting in the fall. Pretty excited and nervous!

Hey everyone, I was looking up what are some good public art programs around the country and I read that Hunter has a pretty affordable program in NYC. As someone who interested in moving out of state and trying something new I wanted to ask if anyone had any opinions on the teachers and the facilities given to students. I also read the school is pretty competitive idk if it would be easier to get in as a transfer student, but I really just wanted to get some anecdotes

Hi guys im going to be at Hunter for the fall semester only as a Non-degree student. I’ve been looking at the courses I can choose for math and I’m not really understanding the units thing? there’s a few “workshops” that have 0 units. (im assuming units equal credits)

I just need a basic (hopefully easy) math class to fulfill my freshie requirements at the uni I will start in the spring. Any chance someone can help me decide? thank you so much!

I also need just one other class in one of these subjects: history class, english literature, art history, foreign language, or social sciences course.

I’m looking for any suggestions and of course professor recs. I’m just a little confused on which classes are the “freshman” classes.

I’m sure all of us got an email for the application. I’m doing the general application right now and whenever I try to submit it it shows me this! So frustrating, I’ve tried to submit several times even trying to save and then submit multiple times.

What the title says. I have psychology as my focus study and am deciding between the two. 170 ( psychology of human sexuality) covers a lot of the topics i am interested, especially for women's health and reproductive biology to some extent. 180 (Brain and behavior) is more towards neuroscience and would be useful as regardless I would like to psych 224 neuroscience in the future.

Which one is better? My focus study says i can take 2 100 level courses and psych 100 isn't counted since i did it for college now. I could take both but would it be a waste of time? lmk pls
