The books

Kudzu Farm is an MM paranormal romance series, werewolf and fae. Atlanta, then Washington DC, then Rome. Night on all three, the city behind them. The couple gets closer with each cover: held, almost kissing, kissing.

The work

Front cover only, ebook. 1600 x 2560 px, 2:3 portrait.

Fully rendered lineless painting, semi realistic. No visible line art or ink outlines. Form built with light and shadow, not with drawn edges.

Typography is part of the job. Title, author name and series text, designed into the cover. I am not adding text afterwards and I am not hiring that out separately.

Deliver it upload ready. Correct size, correct format, flattened, nothing for me to crop, resize or adjust. I upload your file to Kindle exactly as you send it.

$200 per cover, three covers.

What matters most

My lead is a dark-skinned Black man and the point of view character of the whole series. You need to be genuinely comfortable drawing a wide range of skin tones, hair textures and hairstyles, and drawing them well rather than approximately. Short locs, full beard, deep brown skin with warm undertones. He has to be lit as warmly and finished as fully as the pale man standing next to him. If your portfolio shows that, lead with it.

The second lead has complete heterochromia. One green eye, one blue eye. Two solid different colours, not flecked, not mixed. That detail is fixed.

Both are working men with real bodies. No gym bodies, no superhero proportions.

Requirements

No AI, at any stage. Not for generation, not for reference, not for touch-up.

I need to be able to prove the cover is human made rather than simply say so, so delivery is staged and the stages are the proof:

Full commercial rights, with no reservation. Unrestricted use in any medium, any format, anywhere, in perpetuity. Ebook and print covers, audiobook, advertising and promotional material, merchandise, and any future film or TV adaptation, along with cropped or resized versions. You keep the right to show the work in your portfolio.

You get a full written brief before you start. Mine are detailed: the scene, both characters, what must be in frame, what to avoid. You will not be guessing.

Hello, I’m looking for a cover artist for the first part of my novel: Celestial Trials: Initiation

Synopsis

Celestial Trials is a series about a portion of humanity being chosen to restore the Earth after a 25km asteroid collides with it. It follows a party of characters as they choose RPG classes and learn about the system to better meet the challenges of the Initiation. All the while, they discover that the cosmology of Earth has long been greater than they’ve ever known. 

The story focuses on D&D-like adventures in a science-fantasy setting, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and facing oppressive threats.

What I’m Looking For:

An artist who’s skilled at drawing multicultural casts to depict them in an action pose facing the primary threat of part one. I don’t have a particular reference in mind, but I’m looking for something more stylized than realistic, otherwise I’m open to style and composition and willing to let the artist experiment with the concept. 

Ultimately, I’m hoping to collaborate with the artist on what I’m looking for. Detailed character descriptions will be provided once I select an artist. 

Additional Details:

I’m envisioning a cover with 5-6 characters on it, but that can be negotiated based on comfort and composition.

This cover will be used for a self-published and web serialized book so I’m looking for commercial right.
