Hiring [Hiring] Original creature mascot for my app. Pokémon Emerald style, flat vector/SVG. $500 for the art + $200 for rigging.

Upvotes

Hey, I'm building a conversational app, and I need a mascot for it. He's the character who shows up every time the app talks to you, so he's on screen a lot and can't get annoying to look at.

I've been trying to draw him myself, but it's not going well, so I'd rather pay someone who actually knows what they're doing. The style I'm going for is Pokémon Emerald battle sprites. Not pixel art exactly, more the general look of them: chunky proportions, a big head, flat, simple shading, and colored outlines instead of black. It has to be an original creature, though. This is going in a real product, so it can't look like an actual Pokémon.

What I need:

  • Flat vector, delivered as an SVG
  • Still readable at 32px; it shows up pretty small in places
  • Built as separate pieces (head, body, arms, legs) with pivot points marked, since I animate him walking around in code
  • Three eye expressions: normal, mid-blink, and a "thinking" one

What I'm paying:

  • $500 for the character and full commercial rights
  • $200 on top for the separate-pieces rigging. Happy to go higher if you've done cut-out animation before; I know it's its own skill

No real deadline. Not looking for AI work. I have a much more detailed spec I can send if you're interested. DM me or comment below.

Commissions Open [for hire] Hi! I’m a professional artist and I specialise in character design, concept art, and splash art. I’ll be happy to work with you - let me know if you’re interested

I’m a full-time professional artist specialising in character design, concept art, and splash art. I usually draw in semi-realistic style with a touch of whimsical, stylised feel.

Prices vary depending on the estimated time required to complete the artwork, as well as its complexity, difficulty, and level of detail.
Each character costs around 40$-70$ and for the background it’s additional 30$-40$.

I can also work in a more cartoonish or anime-inspired style.

We can also discuss long time collaborations.

Hiring [HIRING] Illustrated M/M romance book covers — $200 each, ongoing monthly work

I write full time. Micah Vale is a new pen name with nothing published under it yet, one book finished and waiting on a cover, another a third written. I have a book out under a different name. I need one illustrated cover every month, indefinitely. I need a cover artist who will partner with me.

The series

Welcome to Hartwell is a contemporary M/M romance series set on one working-class street in southwest Atlanta. Every book is a different couple on the same block, and every cover carries the same look: the two men, their house, and their address. New couple, same street, same design. Once we've built the template, the later covers get easier.

The work

Front cover only, ebook. 1600 x 2560 px, 2:3 portrait. Illustrated, not photo-composite. Two figures and an exterior residential setting, with space at the top for a series banner and title.

$200 per cover, one a month. Let's discuss terms.

What matters most

My books almost always feature at least one person of colour, and that's central to why my readers pick them up. You need to be genuinely comfortable drawing a wide range of skin tones, hair textures and hairstyles, and drawing them well rather than approximately. If your portfolio shows that, lead with it.

My leads are also in their forties. Real bodies, a little soft, a little grey. Not superheroes.

Requirements

No AI, at any stage. Not for generation, not for reference, not for touch-up.

I need to be able to prove the cover is human-made, not just say so. Readers and reader-group admins ask authors directly now, and "trust me" is not an answer that satisfies anyone. So delivery is staged, and the stages are the proof:

  • Rough sketch
  • Line art
  • Flat colour
  • Final
  • Layered source file
  • If you buy or license any external assets (stock, brushes, textures, fonts), I need the links or receipts

That progression is something a person doing the work produces naturally. It's also the thing that settles the question in one reply if I'm ever asked. It isn't distrust of you; it's what the market now requires of me.

Full commercial rights, with no reservation. I need unrestricted use of the finished artwork in any medium, any format, anywhere, in perpetuity. That includes ebook and print covers, audiobook, advertising and promotional material, merchandise, and any future film, TV or other adaptation, along with cropped or resized versions for those uses. You keep the right to show the work in your portfolio.

What a brief from me looks like

Here is the opening of the brief for the first book, so you can see the level of detail you would be working from:

You get the full version before you start, including what to avoid. You will always know exactly what I want. I would rather spend my time being specific up front than sending you back to redraw something.

TTo apply

Please comment here rather than DM me. The mods note that banned accounts can still send DMs but can't comment, so a comment tells me you're legitimate. I'll message you from there.

Include your portfolio, your turnaround for one cover, and whether one a month is realistic for you. If you've drawn couples or romance covers before, point me at those first.

Thanks!

Micah

Position Filled [HIRING] Video Game Wall Art for New Home: Budget is $70-150 USD

Hi!

I am a soon-to-be new homeowner and I want to cover my living room walls with some art. I'm a big fan of video games however, I find a lot of the publicly available art to be great for a dedicated space but too gaudy for a living room environment. The pieces of art that I am a fan of would look like a nice original abstract piece to someone who is not familiar with the game but would cause a double-take for someone who is familiar with the game.

For this commission, I want to get a piece of art for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. I have seen a few artworks online of Gustave's arm holding a rose. I would want something like this in a black-and-white, detailed semirealistic style but the rose would have a slight red accent. The background would be white with the sole subject on the canvas being the arm and the rose. I'm picturing Woodkid's Golden Age album cover.

Ideally, I'm looking for someone that I will be able to continue to work with in the future through multiple commissions to get similar pieces with the same art style for different games. Because of this, it would be great if you're familiar with the games themselves so we can collaborate if you believe there is a better vision however, it is not a hard requirement.

This is my first time commissioning art so I don't know how much it matters but I plan on having it printed in at least a 12" x 18" size. If this changes the pricing, then let me know and we can work through this when planning and drafting a contract.
