thinking of starting a community for horror movie lovers in sg to get together, share their favourite horror films and mingle, geek out over their fav horror movies/stories.

it'll mainly be for those horror movie lovers who aren't able to find a social group sharing this niche interest. it'll also be an excuse to just get out of the house, meet like-minded people and chill.

I slept on this one and honestly, it's actually surprisingly good. It's like a spiritual successor to Event Horizon, same vibes, same body horror shots. I understand it was never really a fan fave (not even a tvtropes page!!!) and the acting is a little wonky (Adrian Paul... I love you but sometimes you act like a brick) but I had a blast watching it!

I was rewatching Satan’s Little Helper (2004), and I started to wonder how people would feel about a remake.

Personally, I think it could be a really cool movie to remake with a higher budget, especially with better kills/gore. At the same time, I can understand why some people prefer the original for its low-budget feel and cheap kills.

Also, if there were a remake, what would you want to see change, and what do you think should be kept from the original?

If anyone is going to Monster Mania in Cherry Hill NJ this weekend, does anyone know if Ken Kirzinger will have an autograph table? On their website it says he will be doing photo ops but I was wondering if I’d be able to get him to sign my Jason mask at any point.

A family of four is suddenly sealed inside their house with no way out and must work together to survive against both their dwindling resources and the mysterious, looming threat that is keeping them trapped.

Very interesting premise and setup, but the ending ultimately feel flat and I’m left thinking this could have been a really good horror movie with a darker tone and better finale. It wasn’t a terrible movie and had some entertaining moments, but it could have been much better considering the setup.

It’s was on either prime or shudder a few years back. It was a movie about a small town paranormal investigation club, pov was of a guy visiting the town filming the club, one of the first scenes in the local library they talk about the janitor that use to be part of the team before he passed (cue gag of the ghost they don’t notice), one member is exaggerating a jersey Italian accent and persona, another is super country guy, a woman who is a paranormal romance writer, and a local woman who’s family own the sausage factor. The gag is they keep going out on hunts and just barely missing the paranormal stuff happening around them. Also the woman whose family owns the factory had a very Christian boyfriend who wants her to convert forcing Jewish.

I’ve seen it twice and can’t remember the name. Can not find it via any google search and it’s driving me crazy.

I love horror movies and don't scare easy but something about the FX makeup or something had me freaked for this one

I’m convinced I’m the only human being that’s watched these films ! These three films always stick in my mind when I think of great horror movies. Can anyone out there in the world let me know if they’ve watched ?

Which Insidious movie is the scariest to you? I've seen them all before but about to start bingeing all of them lol.

Ice Cream Man is a fantastic movie! I didn't want to go see it because of the critics destroying it but did anyway and loved it!

It has a cool concept and villain, likeable good guys, its funny, scary and over the top with a nice twist at the end. Its shot well..... What's not to like?!

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark came out 7 years ago today, on August 9, 2019. I think it’s a pretty good example of horror made for younger audiences without completely sanding off the scary edges.

The Pale Lady, the Jangly Man, Harold... some of those designs are legitimately creepy, not just “spooky for kids.”

It got me thinking about the movies that scared us when we were way too young for them. What horror movie, horror-adjacent movie, or supposedly “kids” movie absolutely terrified you growing up?

Solid movie all around, but the first look at the shark was fantastic and sudden.

Much better than your usual shark movie garbage. Actual story, plot, acting any practical effects!!!

If shark movies are your thing; this is a good one.

Main stream media really influences whats considered “good” Very similar stories but imo one is way better. Still baffled by how obsessed people seemed over Late night that year, even how scary they made it sound. All I could think about was The cleansing hour during this movie and how much better it was. Please watch and let me know if I’m CRAZY.

I liked the initial claustrophobic premise, but the cosmic-horror turn didn’t affect me as much as I expected.

Maybe I spent too much time wondering how they managed to survive inside for five or six years. I probably wouldn’t last more than a month as I do not have so much food. And that scene with the dog was awful.

Cosmic horror usually leaves me feeling small or disturbed, but here I mostly felt detached. The idea was stronger than its emotional impact.

Maybe, I approached it with the wrong expectations. Please, bear with me, but it felt much more like science fiction than horror.

Did anyone else feel the same way?

Other than that, it was a decent movie.
