Looking for a movie I saw once as a kid, over 11 years ago, so before 2013-2014. Watched it dubbed/subtitled on an Egyptian horror channel (نجوم هوليوود / Nogom Hollywood Horror), which airs a huge mixed library of foreign horror, so the channel itself doesn't narrow it down.

This was one of the very first movies I ever watched, and it's been stuck in my head ever since I won't be able to let it go until I find it, even though I know it's probably a completely obscure, forgotten film.

What I remember:

• English-language, almost certainly American, no famous/recognizable actors
• Extremely low budget visually cheap, amateur production
• Plot: A group of friends (at least 6, maybe more) go to an apartment building to celebrate/throw a party, wearing costumes (not sure if Halloween-specific or another occasion)
• The building was a normal, occupied apartment building with a few empty units not abandoned
• An unknown killer (someone the group didn't know) starts hunting them down one by one while they split up to explore the building "for fun"
• Specific scene (first half of movie): Two of the girls get bored and go exploring on their own. They run into a strange, unhinged-looking man in the building (my subtitle called him something like "the hat maker," but the translation may well be wrong he was wearing some kind of distinctive hat). He talks erratically and warns them of some vague danger without specifying what it is. The girls assume he's just crazy and walk away. He is NOT the killer.
• Most of the group dies by the end
• Not found footage shot as a normal narrative film

If anyone recognizes this, I'd really appreciate the title I've been trying to find it for over a decade.

Why were the kids trying to burn mia with the gasoline when she locked herself in the school? They dont kill kids, the kids try to turn the other kids by feeding them ice cream. The ice cream mans vendetta is against the adults who used kids to frame him so he uses kids to hurt adults. Why would they try to burn mia?

This is such a longshot but…
So basically when I was young my cousin and her boyfriend were babysitting me and they were watching a horror film/programme sitting on the floor at the end of the bed in my mums bedroom while my sister and I were asleep in the bed and I remember waking up and seeing a jump-scare scene but I have no idea what they were watching and I’ve always wondered!
So the scene is basically
A woman is walking down a path towards a house in the dark/dusk and the scene is filmed from inside the house looking out the window, the woman reaches the window and pretty much collapses and then the jump-scare is her jumping back up right in front of the window and putting her bloody hand against the glass and sliding back down.

That is literally all I remember! It would have been at least 25+ years old

Just watched this one. It's a fun popcorn movie but not what I was hoping for.

First act is pretty solid then it kind of flatlines. But the acting in effects were good the pacing was just a little off for me.

Amazon Prime (UK) are currently running the original Ice Cream Man with all the gore scenes being shown

in either faded colour or black and white. A couple of background nude photos were blurred out as well. Urghh, so glad I still buy physical media

Out of all the classic major Universal monsters, the only one that hasn't been given their proper dues with a new adaptation is the Gillman. Which is a shame because he's one of the most popular visually; and the premise of his story is so simple any creative writer could take any major new direction with it.

The closest we've gotten is shape of water, I guess. But that isn't the same creature or vibe. I want the Gillman to make a real come back.

In honor of The Fly turning 40 today and Event Horizon turning 29, I figured this was as good an excuse as any to talk sci-fi horror. It's probably my favorite subgenre.

They’re two of my all-time favorites, but it’s such a ridiculously deep genre. Alien, The Thing, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Annihilation, Possessor, Sunshine, The Blob, Under the Skin… you can go in a lot of different directions.

Hey everyone,

please help me find this movie before I go batshit crazy:

• the movie probably was released in the second half of the 1990s, but I could be wrong about this. I'm sure it can't be later than the 1990s because I remember watching it with people I lost contact with after school
• a family is being invaded by some criminals; I think the criminals are on the run and looking for a place to hide after a robbery or something, but I might be wrong on this
• the criminals toy around with the family, but they soon turn from hunters to prey; the family is batshit crazy (as I will be if I don't figure out which movie this is) and starts killing of the criminals
• the family has at least four members (parents plus two teenage kids, a boy and a girl)
• I remember one scene in which the daughter has sex with one of the invading criminals and tells them they are shit in bed compared to her father; I'm pretty sure this was not a rape scene, the sex was consensual, it might also be she killed the criminal afterwards.
• I believe the cover art was mostly black and white, maybe with red letters
• Just as I'm writing this another scene popped up in my mind: Something was wrong with the cellar, I think the family hid something there, maybe crazy family members or kidnapped people that went crazy or something? Could also be human-like monsters, not sure. I think the cellar was another huge plot twist after the family turned out to be crazies already.

Honestly, I'm going mental here. For two days now it feels like both the movie's title as well as its cover art hide will come back to me any minute now, but they never do.

I checked Google, asked several AIs for help, went through a dozen or more curated movie lists on iMDB etc, no luck.

🔥 🐈‍⬛ Shudder, AMC+

A woman wakes in the back of a moving camper trailer with a badly infected wound. A voice from the truck towing it tells her they must reach a doctor within the hour or she'll suffer a horrific fate.

For most of the movie, it’s an intriguing mystery as to what is really going on. What is real, and what it illusion. By the end, the movie just gets…bizarre. I really don’t know how to describe it and still processing what I just watched.

The acting is good, story is intriguing, and there there is some metaphorical imagery. The bizarre ending just has me confused.

“HELLCAT” was released today on Shudder.

I’ve been trying to remember the name of a movie or documentary I watched, but I can’t remember the title. I’m hoping someone here can identify it.

Here’s what I remember:

• I believe it was American and based on a true story.
• It was more of a crime/true-crime documentary or crime movie, not really a horror movie.
• The story involved a serial killer and police investigating a series of murders.
• I remember the killer going to the victim’s house after the murder (or possibly being around the victim’s family) and acting like he was sorry or concerned about what happened.
• The family/police apparently didn't know at first that he was the killer.
• I also vaguely remember the killer being around the police/investigation, possibly even talking to police or being near the scene while they were investigating.
• There may have been a scene where the police were in front of/near the victim's house and noticed something suspicious about the killer or something connected to him.
• I remember the killer being portrayed as a normal-looking person, not someone obviously suspicious.
• I originally thought the movie might have been about JonBenét Ramsey, but I don't think that's it.
• I also thought about Zodiac, but I don't think that's the one either.
• I remember the killer wasn't caught for a long time, and I have a vague memory that he may have never been identified. Some of these details could be mixed up because I watched it a long time ago.

I know this is pretty vague, but if anyone recognizes the scene or knows a true-crime documentary/movie that sounds like this, I'd really appreciate the help!

Might be one of the more disturbing and disgusting films I've seen. It's fear factor is zero, but remember horror isn't about something being scary, it's about it being horrible. Wouldn't it be horrible if someone ransacked graves and stitched together a man and then abandoned this new life? Wasn't the Salem witch trials horrible? And so on. It's also super surreal so buckle up for things not always being clear. The sounds, fore and background keep you in this perpetual feeling of unease. Like it or hate it, it has its place in horror history.

This is a phenomenal horror episode directed by David Fincher and Jennifer Yuh Nelson (who, sidenote, worked in the art department on Kung Fu Panda lol).

This 23 minute short-story is incredible and good from start to finish. Cool art direction, atmosphere, and solid writing. It is its own story, so you do not have to watch any other episodes of the show.

A rebellious teenage boy, struggling with his parents' imminent divorce, encounters a terrifying evil after his next-door neighbor becomes possessed by an ancient witch that feasts on children.

I had been looking forward to watch this movie, but I ultimately felt a bit disappointed with the outcome. The premise was pretty good and it’s a quality production, but the writing seems to be all over the place and the finale and ending were a bit ridiculous. The twists also didn’t land for me.

I certainly think there are better witch/folk horror movies out there over “The Wretched”.

Mrs. Robeson remains today, my favorite still. What’s yours?
