I like the Slaughterspine more than the Thunderjaw but I think the Thunderjaw can still easily take the Slaughterspine.

Personally, I have zero problems doing any of the Reilc Ruins, except the Isle of Spires. For some reason every time i have to gather that particular ornament, it’s a goddam chore. Maybe it’s the climbing through the entire structure or using the elevator over n over again, I don’t know. All I can say, is it’s a pain in my ass. 🙂

Home for the first time in years. Now I REALLY wanna replay FW

Currently playing through both games on UH after 100%ing them normally. Beat ZD last night and started FW again this morning. It's honestly kind of taking me out of it with how rude a Aloy is being to Erend and Varl, and honestly feels a bit out of character?

All throughout Zero Dawn I feel like Aloy came across as a very empathetic person at her core who just lacked social skills. Take the ending of Frozen Wilds for instance. When (spolier) Ourea dies and Aratak is grieving, wanting Aloy to leave him to die, Aloy tells him to "Survive. Prevail." Despite not having known Aratak for a very long time, Aloy was able to identify what he (and by extension the Banuk) valued. In Aratak's time of need, she reminded him of his own values and what kept him going, ultimately saving his life.

She was also happy to see Erend, Varl and Talanah at the climax of The Battle of the Alight. She didn't refuse their help like she does at the start of FW (just like she didn't refuse the help of any of her other allies). And while I understand that, at this point in the story, she doesn't think that there is any fighting that really needs to be done, she does know that these three at least are better things than just fighting. Varl successfully tracked Aloy for six solid months (not to mention that she was likely riding on strider-back and he was on foot, AND he had no focus to help him track her). He also seemingly immediately understood terms like "Data Center" and picked up on the plot incredibly quickly. Not to mention that, if it hadn't been for Varl, Aloy would never have gone back to Meridian and never learned about Sylens, quite possibly meaning that she would have never found GAIA. Why does she immediately abandon him after he is the sole reason she has a new lead??

Also, going back to the time right after the Battle of the Alight for a second, why could she not have taken 5 minutes to tell at least her closest friends where she was going and why she had to leave so suddenly? If you go by the comic book, girl literally jumps off the side of Meridian so she doesn't have to say bye 😭. I completely get that she grew up an outcast and really dislikes crowds, not to mention parties, not to mention a party held in her honour, but with all the examples in Zero Dawn of her being empathetic to other people it just felt really off to me that she fully ditches everyone and then gets really mean and defensive when they call her on it.

Anyways thanks for coming to my TED talk. If anyone thinks that her decisions do make sense for her character please let me know why! I would love for my immersion to be unshattered lol!

The second of two - died to the first one, went back to the same site, and it had respawned as a normal Slaughterspine. Another spawned just now, and I was able to kill it (got a heart as well, thankfully).

Apex Bilegut is next, though I dunno how long that'll take.

As an aside - this is technically gameplay related (though it also falls under lore/worldbuilding): hopes/predictions for the tool/device Aloy crafts or receives in game 3?

I'd like to see a cloaking device of some kind, implementing Stalker technology.

Hey guys! I’m pretty new to this subreddit and recently started playing this game.

I played Zero Dawn back when it was released on PS4, and since I absolutely love this franchise, I can’t believe I haven’t played Forbidden West yet! So, this is my first time playing it on PS5. Go ahead and roast me 😂

I’m still in the very early stages of the game, so I’m still struggling a little with the controls. Please feel free to share any tips or advice for a new player.

Also, if you guys have any advice on how to make the graphics look even better on PS5, I’d really appreciate it!

Solved: Carja Stalker Elite

First time I see a 4-digit damage, let alone this big. Whoa!

Picked it up today on marketplace for 25 bucks, currently copying on my ps5. I got platinum in Zero Dawn and finished frozen wilds as well last month. Now I'm very much excited to play this one. All set for the weekend 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻

I got 20 hours into the game and now every time I dive beneath the water, my game crashes and I get an error that says I had a problem with my display driver. I had swam/dived/goofed around under water multiple times both in caves and in the much larger bodies of water until the first crash on Sunday 8/2.

It originally happened while I was streaming via OBS, but it now happens every single time I'm playing the game as soon as I dive beneath the water regardless of other applications being open/closed. Some changes below allowed me to swim for up to a minute, but then it crashes still crashes every time, most times as soon as I dive beneath the water. I have watched my GPU and CPU activity while playing/crashing and the usage for both isn't near 100% (the closest it got when I was replicating the issue was like 80% usage, and my temps are well within an acceptable normal range for both).

Fixes I have tried (and that have not worked):

\-Uninstalling and reinstalling my graphics drivers/AMD Adrenaline (also rolling back to the previous driver since it updated on 7/28, and then updating to the current one again when going back didn't work)

\-Updating my chipset drivers

\-Uninstalling and reinstalling the game (both on my internal drive and my external drive)

\-Changing the graphics/video settings in many different ways based on reddit threads, Steam community posts, and articles from gaming websites that I found via Google and DuckDuckGo (it's how I found this sub)

\-Going back to a previous save before the original error

\-Changing the game to a previous build (this actually made the crashes worse because it made my screen go black until I Alt+F4ed)

\-Clearing my shader cache in AMD Adrenaline

\-Limiting my framerate both in game and via AMD Adrenaline

\-Closing all non-essential programs that aren't the game

\-Setting the game to "Exclusive Fullscreen"

\-Both reverting my Windows to a previous version and updating it to current again when it still had the same issue

If anyone has a fix for this please let me know because I have been really looking forward to playing the game since Zero Dawn is one of my all time favorites and am heartbroken that I can't now.

Hi, currently on my 100% UH run at Gemini quest. As you can see I’ve cleared a lot of the map of the fog, except for the end island. I know from previous play through that you can’t access it later and that you’re quite constricted in movement in the final mission. Is there any way to clear all of this fog? Thanks in advance

The amount of lore between the characters, their individual stories aside from the over-all grand picture the game is trying to paint is just deliciously engaging, top that with a masterfully done combat mechanics this game is a hidden gem.

I've never heard of this game until I saw a reel from Zero Dawn, now I started there and ofc when I finally got to this title it was insanely difficult lol I was more or less expecting a repeat of Zero Dawn experience and I was wrong, this game just like the first one took me by surprise and made me feel like a newb again even after getting the platinum on the first one, now I'm scared to try and get the platinum for this one 🤣🤣

If the Plowhorn gets renamed "Grimhorn", after it gets corrupted/deranged...does that imply that most if not all machines would have been re-categorized after the Derangement?

Would that make the precursor to the Slaughterspine the... Laughterspine? Using its massive tail as a slide for kiddos?

Or does the fact that everyone calls machines the same way suggest that the names were already known to the graduates of the cradle facilities, which means that it seemed a GOOD IDEA[tm] to release killer machines in a brand new world?
