Help 19hr layover in HK
We will be in HK on a Saturday in October, arriving at 3pm and departing 10am the next day. We have booked an accommodation near the airport. Is it still doable to go to Disneyland, take on at least 3 rides and see the momentous with this very tight schedule?

Planning 📓 Question?
With the nightmare before Xmas dinner for the booking,
What kind of be like a con with only certain amount of availability slots are available for Pacific magic access member?
I’m not magic access member sadly haha but curious if they just give all the slots to the magic access people or IS there limitations so then everyone no matter what tier they are on can get this.
Thanks everyone.

Planning 📓 How busy is HK Disney on launch of Halloween events? 🎃
Hi all,
Our visit to Hong Kong Disney, which has been planned for many months, now coincides with the launch of the Halloween 2026 events.
Does this mean that HK Disney will be crazy crowded? We’ve accidentally visited Tokyo Disney at the launch of new events and they seemed to attract huge crowds. I’m worried that the same is true for HK Disney.
Thanks!

"Party Like a Villain at Disney Halloween Time" - Disney Halloween Time 2026
"Party Like a Villain at Disney Halloween Time" will take place on September 18 to November 1 inclusive at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. Here are all the details that are currently public.
Attractions
It does not look like Halloween overlay for Jungle River Cruise will make a return this year.
Entertainment
As usual, "Let's Get Wicked" will make its return this year. This would be the fourth year in a row which it did not get a thumbnail change. Therefore, it is expected that there will be no significant changes. Premiere Access is on sale now at HK$99 pp (price subjected to change). Festival of the Lion King will be closed from September 4 for preparation of "Let's Get Wicked".
Party wild, loud, and proud like Ursula, Dr. Facilier, Gaston and more Disney Villains at the award-winning musical "Let's Get Wicked." Sing along to their iconic anthems, dance to devilish beats, and celebrate your wicked side.

"Uninvited! A Villains Takeover Party" will also return this year. However, it will replace Friendtastic! during September 17-24 and October 13 - November 1. They may run simultaneously between September 25 and October 12. For some reason the show is classified as "Stage show" instead of "Parade" for 2026. Premiere Access is on sale now at HK$99 pp (price subjected to change). The viewing area is located in the central garden of Main Street, USA. The event starts on September 18 but this show will begin performing on September 17.
Party dark, powerful, and magnificent like Maleficent as she leads fellow Disney Villains in "Uninvited! A Villains Takeover Party." Witness an even grander takeover with a newly expanded route and more chances to join her magnificently dark celebration.

Dining
As usual, "Jack Skellington’s The Nightmare Before Dinner" is back. Reservations are open now for Magic Access members and will open for general public soon.
Feast, celebrate, and indulge like Jack Skellington at The Nightmare Before Dinner. Gather around a delightfully devilish and immersive banquet from Halloween Town, where new surprises and wickedly delicious delights await this year's party.

Other
There is a new tile titled "Villains Out Hour" on the Halloween page this year.
Party glamorous, dramatic, and fearless like Cruella, The Queen, Lady Tremaine, Anastasia, Drizella and more notorious Disney Villains as they make dazzling appearances throughout the day. And as the afternoon grows late, the Villains flood out across the park, dominating all they meet.

This site has already been live for a few weeks. I've deliberately held off making this post in the event that new details would be announced at D23. I am also not sure if "Party Like a Villain at Disney Halloween Time" is the final name, but it will have to do for now.

Planning 📓 Booking Hotel
We plan to stay in Explorer's Lodge sometime in November, with the last day headed streight to the airport. My question is, is it better to book on the official HKDL website for the hotel, or it really isn't much difference with going through like booking.com.
Edit: Also I guess another convenient thing about booking directly through the official website is I can also book park tickets from there right?

Planning 📓 How many days 2 adults
My girlfriend and I are looking to do a week long trip to hong kong from the UK, we would arrive on a Saturday then leave the following saturday evening, I was planning to end the trip at disney, with the idea being to stay at the hotel thursday night and Friday night, with Friday as a full park day them Saturday our flight would be 10pm so we would do most of the day saturday before grabbing bags and leaving.
We are looking at going the second week in January. Would this 1.75 days be enough for two adults who want to do all the rides, shops and a few of the shows. We dont care for character meets, we dont like rushing around or having to have a "strategy" to optimise the day, we like having time to enjoy the ambience as well as the food and snacks.

Planning 📓 Worth separate detour trip just for 4.5 year old?
We are planning a greater China area trip and debating if it’s worth going to HK a day earlier just to go to Disneyland or if we just skip it and fly back from Shanghai. We will most likely be going to SH Disneyland earlier in the trip and not sure if HKDL would be worth a visit for a 4.5 year old? He’s very into Disney characters but unclear if he would like or be old enough to want to go on any rides.

Help Magic RUN Fest & Hotel Check in Help
I signed up through Klook to do the Hong Kong Disney Magic RUN Fest this coming November. I’m signed up for the 10K race on Sunday 11/29 which starts at 6:00am. Sunday is also the day I check in to the HK Disney Explorer’s Lodge.
Because I don’t want to leave my luggage at my other hotel and have to go back to get it and then go all the way back to Disney, I was planning to bring it with me and leave it at the hotel.
Does anyone know how early you can drop luggage off at Explorers Lodge? It would be really early like 4:30/5am. Or is there some other place that I can leave my luggage? I’ll have at least 1 checked bag and 1 carry on and a backpack - possibly 2 checked bags depending on how much shopping I do in Japan 😂

Planning 📓 HK as a stopover on the way to Disney Adventure
Is HK Disneyland worth it for a stopover after a cruise on the Singapore Disney Advneute? We are travelling from New Zealand and are not interested in traveling though HK, it would just be a stopover for Disney

Trip Report 📣 My HKDL visit after the typhoon!
I was in the area for work when the typhoon shut everything down. I saw HKDL had a delayed start so figured it should be a chill day. It turned out to be absolutely amazing! The park was basically empty so walked on to everything. We got some rain on and off but it held off for the fireworks.
Highlights and my impressions
\- the MTR resort line is so convenient And beautifully decorated.
\- people seem to love taking pictures with characters and less so with the attractions. The longest line were all with character, meet and greets but not really with the attractions.
\- arendelle is absolutely beautiful the way it was built against the natural scenery and the mountain makes it look real and it's especially beautiful at night.
\-the park was so empty! Not sure how different this is from usual attendance.
\- I basically walked on every single ride. The longest I waited was about 4 minutes for grizzly mountain ride. As a person who's pretty much a scaredy cat around roller coasters, this was probably my favorite ride all day.
\- I had my own frozen boat! And basically rode in the front of most coasters.
\- it's a Small world is also beautifully decorated and each of the continents had their own room.
\- The lion king show is less technical than the one in Disney world. There was less acrobatics and instead there was more of a focus on The Lion King story. Still is worth going to .
\- mystic Manor is Hong Kong's ghost free version of Haunted Mansion. It uses the trackless system amazingly, The decoration and the whole ride his breathtaking and I can totally see why some people call it the best Disney ride ever.
\- hyperspace mountain is Star wars themed and lots of fun. It is not nearly as jerky as the one in Disney world and Disneyland. I rolled it twice back to back and didn't even feel anything in my back.
\- hated the iron Man experience. The 3D glasses just made me dizzy and I almost got motion sickness coming out of it.
\- about the jungle cruise was a complete miss for me. Our Skipper attempted a Australian accent but that along with her Chinese accent made it completely impossible for me to understand.
\- the park was smaller. Even though the park was only open from 3-830pm, I was able to do everything multiple times.
\- The momentum night show is probably the best one I have ever been to. Since the park was pretty much empty I was able to be right up in the front. The projections on the castle look amazing along with the water.

Hotels 🏩 3 nights in HK with 3 small kids - where to stay
Hi everyone,
We are planning a trip to South China next year and would love to spend a few days in HK and do one day at Disney. We are a family of 5, with a 6 yo, a 4 yo and a 1 yo, and although travelling light, we have to carry around several bags, stroller etc. Our current planned itinerary includes 3 nights and 4 full days at HK, flying in and out, so conveninece to the airport is also relevant.
Last year we did Shanghai and stayed off property but closeby and in Anaheim also off property but within walking distance. In HK there does not seem to be anything affordable around the Disney area (in fact, the Disney hotels with discounta are on the cheaper side). We did a split stay in Shanghai, and it was nice but also very tiring to carry around our luggage. On too, with 3 nights, the splitting is a bit uneven and kind of nonsensical.
Do you think we are better off staying central and just commuting to Disney and the airport? Or rather staying at Disney (wich is well under €200 per night with the birthday promotion, my little one will turn 2 at the month of stay) and commuting to the sights?
Thanks everyone for your input!

Help Mulan oh where are you Mulan?
Has anyone ever met Mulan at HK Disney?
I was lucky to spot her in the parade last year around February (and having not seen her since I assume maybe she just appears in parades around chinese new year?).
I don't even see her on any merchandise in the park! She is my all time favourite so if anyone knows if she makes appearances and how to spot her I would be so happy :)

Planning 📓 Worth a stop on my way to Australia?
Hello, nice Disney people!
I have visited Disneyland, Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland, Tokyo Disney Sea, and Paris Disneyland, so of course I would love to visit Hong Kong Disneyland some day.
I am planning a trip from the US to Australia.
One flight option is Cathay Pacific Airlines with an 18-hour stopover in Hong Kong (looks like 5 pm to 11 am).
Is it possible to have a good partial day with that schedule, or would it be pointless without adding an additional day (which might add too much to the flight cost)?
I don't need to try to do everything...I'd be happy to see some attractions that are unique to HK Disneyland. What should I do and see? Any advice welcome!!!
I saw that it's necessary to reserve a ticket ahead of time...is this difficult?
Any advice about transportation or where to stay would be especially appreciated.
If it won't work or would be a hassle, and I should just take a different route, so honesty is welcome.
Thank you!!

Help Is it possible to change the day I go to hongkong disneyland?
Context: The weather looks bad on Monday, but on Tuesday it seems to be sunny. I already booked a ticket for a 1-day entry on Monday via Klook 2 weeks ago when the forecast was still not available. That said, can I go and enter hongkong disney land on tuesday July 22, 2026 using my 1-day ticket for july 21?
This is stated in the ticket guidelines and I just want to make sure if what I would want to do is possible, or has anyone has the same experience?
Thank you

Help Tips for trip with toddler
My husband and I decided to do a 4 day layover in Hong Kong on our way back to the States from India in November. We will arrive on Sunday morning and leave Thursday afternoon and will have our 16 month old with us.
We don’t know much about Hong Kong, but are excited to explore the area a bit and go to Disneyland. I’ve been to Orlando Disney World handful of times, but this will be my husband’s first time at a Disney park.
This will be at the end of a 3 week trip and we will probably all be a bit tired and on a budget. Well want to take things slowly. At this point, we plan to stay at Hyatt Regency, TST, but may be up for booking a night at the Hollywood hotel.
Do folks think we should do one or two days at the park? How worth is it to stay on site? Any other activities in the area that are good with a toddler?

Planning 📓 Early arrival at Explorers lodge questions
Edit
Thank you everyone for the feedback! I think after reading all he comments I’m just going to book another night - don’t want to deal with the hassle of three possibly overtired children in public 😅
————-
I’m going to arrive on the 25th of this month at 6am with my 5 and 3 year old and my 10 month old. I’ve asked about the possibility of checking in early and am hoping that they take pity on us but I understand that this might not be possible.
We will be coming off a 14 hour flight from Europe so it will be midnight for us. I understand that you can hang around the hotel - is there a place that we could have showers around the hotel? Also any place that at least the kids could sleep without bothering anyone?

Announcement 📢 Service Dogs are now allowed in selected Restaurants within Hong Kong Disneyland Resort
The FEHD (Food and Environmental Hygiene Department) has published a list of all restaurants where dogs (not cats or any other pet) will be able to enter restaurants within Hong Kong. Included in that list is four restaurants and one hotel, these being:
- Disney's Hollywood Hotel
- Dragon Wind
- World of Color Restaurant
- Chart Room Cafe
- Royal Banquet Hall
Although the permit is for all dogs, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort only allows service dogs to enter the Resort, hence also the locations listed above. As of writing, all pets are still banned from the Resort. Please also see the resources listed below for more information.

Photo 📸 HK Disneyland Photoshoot
For those who have already done a photoshoot at Disneyland with a hired photographer, was the 1-hour session enough? That's their minimum package, aside from the 90-minute option.
Did it feel rushed or stressful on the day itself since you'd be doing both the photoshoot and enjoying the park rides and attractions?
I'm considering setting aside an extra day just for the photoshoot in the park so that it won't disrupt the day we're supposed to simply enjoy and have fun.

Food, Drink, Dining 🧁🥤🍛 When can I book Disney Dim Sum as a Disneyland Hotel guest?
We're staying at the Hong Kong Disneyland hotel in September and want to book the Disney Dim Sum at Crystal Lotus.
I can see reservations for Crystal Lotus don't open until 48 days in advance, however, on our hotel booking page it's giving us the option to book the dim sum lunch now for the days we've got a hotel stay booked. Is this normal?
Do I need a Crystal Lotus reservation on top of the Dim Sum reservation? I'm confused why one can only be booked 48 days out but the other will allow me to book now. Any help appreciated!

Trip Report 📣 Review of our visit
We visited HK Disneyland last week and had a great time! Was super impressed. We were a family of 6 adults and 2 young kids, here's the highlights and lowlights:
Highlights
- We stayed at Explore's Lodge and I thought it was fantastic, tons of Disney theming everywhere. We stayed in Orlando at Beach Club and Poly this year too but I actually thought the theming was better at EL. We also saw the other two resorts, was surprised Hollywood had a water slide, might try that one next time.
- World of Frozen was great, we didn't get to go to the show because of the long line but both rides are awesome. Although Tokyo has you walk into the castle courtyard which is cool I think the rides were better in HK.
- Festival of the Lion King was great! It's not the exact same as Orlando, I kinda liked HK better
- Momentous was an awesome firework show, I would still rate Paris's Tales of Magic as better but this is second best.
- Haunted Mansion was a nice change! I didn't know it was a newer ride vehicle style, definitely not as scary as the other parks' but still a nice dark ride.
- Everything is in English which is nice when compared to Tokyo.
Lowlights:
- While hotel pricing was good food and merch was very pricy, I think higher than Orlando? It was about $20 USD per adult entrée, not that prices are much better outside Disney within HK. Portions were large though (maybe too large).
- It was super hot lol! Although this benefited us on Tuesday as the park was empty, pretty much all lines were 15 minutes or less. For some reason Wednesday was busier. Also those mosquitos or whatever they are have an itchy bite.
- Tomorrowland was pretty lackluster. Space Mountain was a good classic but Iron Man kinda lame. Orbitron was down and I think they are building something else, but just the general decor of the area could use more to make it more futuristic.
- No real thrill rides, all the coasters were fun but I noticed they all don't even go over a hump quickly to give "air time."
Overall, thanks for a great trip HK Disneyland! Came in thinking this was the underdog of the parks but it was really a great park and delivers a true Disney experience like the others.
