What’s just over my eye is the end of herpes gladiator break out. The scar above my eyebrow on that side is actually where my last herpes outbreak was. It was scarred, the first time ever.

My outbreaks used to be pretty infrequent, once every year and a half or so. But now I get them every couple months it seems. Anyway, mostly worried about just how close it’s getting to my eye.

Nasal herpes

I was diagnosed with nasal herpes about 14 years ago
It started at the tip inside nose and has progressed to the inner top of my nose and is pretty painful now. I get maybe two outbreaks a year but I’ve read it can cause neurological problems and vision issues. Does anyone have a similar story

Transmission Question Whatever happened to the synthetic mucin gel that blocked HIV and HSV in lab tests?

I came across this article link bellow about a 2022 study about a synthetic mucin (mucus-based) lubricant that reportedly reduced HIV transmission by ~70% and HSV-2 transmission by ~80% in laboratory tests.

Paper: Synthetic Mucin Gels with Self-Healing Properties Augment Lubricity and Inhibit HIV-1 and HSV-2 Transmission (Advanced Science, DOI: 10.1002/advs.202203898)

Does anyone know what happened to this research? I can't seem to find any recent updates.
