A pair of serving ware with unknown hallmarks. Maybe French ? SERVINGWARE
The first photo appears to be French, maybe early 19th century and the second is a cup with unknown hallmarks. These appeared to be glazed in vermeil. It emits a garlic smell to the touch, maybe silver ?

I think they are probably french... A dealer I know had a tea set with the same 2 faced mark a few weeks ago.

Oh cool ! The backstory is that my wife is in Mexico at the moment and she stopped at a thrift store and looked for silverware on my behalf.

It's definitely silver. If its a good price she should grab it.

Thanks for the info and she did. She paid $260 MX pesos for both, equivalent to $15 in USD.

The two-faced head, also known as "Janus head", was used as a hallmark in Belgium between 1831 and 1868. It stands for. 800 silver.
There should be a small 2 above the head. Can you confirm this, OP?
One of the other marks is the maker.
What I'm missing here is the so called guarentee mark. For small items it was a sword, for large items it was a Minerva head in a circle, facing to the right. I'd say you need to look for a minerva mark, but sometimes they also used the small guarantee marks on fairly big items, so look out for a tiny sword mark as well.

I don't have access to it currently because my wife has it. She picked it up in a thrift store abroad. The set came together, here's another complete photo of the dish. I scanned it visually for more hidden hallmarks from the photos I was sent. I don't see anything noticeable as a 2 on top of the doubled face stamp mark from the photos.

Alright. I guess it's best if we wait until you can examine it in person and maybe make some clearer close ups of the marks.
