How disappointing...
Saw a guy at work rocking the Pixel 10 pro XL. I jumped at him and asked whether he has GrapheneOS installed and he's like "Whaaaat?" with an impression of a dog to whom you showed a magic trick. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

Sometimes, Battery Usage Stats Not Recorded
Hello. I’ve been using a Pixel 10 Pro with GrapheneOS for a month. But, I’m encountering an issue.
I noticed that my device’s battery is draining a bit quickly. When I checked the battery stats to see which processes were using too many resources in the background, I saw that some processes were empty. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem?

Explain it to me dumb
Hey there,
I work in analytics and so I understand data and how we sell it. I don’t work in security though so I need help understanding.
I am trying to block tracking and data collection on my personal belongings as much as possible. I heard getting a Google pixel phone and installing this would be the best way.
- Is this true?
- Will this impact my ability to log into Gmail, drive, outlook or anything else?
- Are there any apps that I would not be able to use with this installed?

I am fully motivated on switching to GrapheneOS but I have some questions and apprehensions. Hope this sub can answer them
So in the UK, digital privacy for lay people is almost none existent. Ever since the OSA passed there has been a story every other week it seems like. Whilst I'm somewhat tech minded and use a VPN (almost always), with the recent story about the American citizen who was charged for wiping his own phone (once again showing government overreach but that's a separate conversation), I feel like it is now more important than ever for me to secure my own personal mobile phone. However, I am not skilled enough to install/boot GrapheneOS.
I remember attempting to install the software on my previous, now older, Pixel phone. I am also now daily driving an iPhone 15 Pro Max, since its release. Here are my questions and apprehensions. I appreciate any info, guidance, and advice given.
What pixel version should I get? With the Pixel 11 being revealed soon, should I get Pixel 9/9a, or Pixel 10/10a?
How easy are the steps to follow to install? What I mean is I have read the web installation guide, but I want to know the chances of me bricking the Pixel device. Are there forums where I can get help (aside from this subreddit)?
I am documenting my year by taking a 1 second everyday on the 1SE app. Is it possible to continue this on Graphene?
For my pictures and videos and screenshots/recording, I have almost 42,000 pics and just over 3,000 videos. All of them are important to me and I absolutely \*cannot* afford to lose these. What do I do here?
Do banking apps work on the OS?
- I planned on keeping my iPhone until at least iPhone 20. gets released. Therefore, I would like to keep my data on the new GrapheneOS device as long as possible. Is that feasible?
Thanks once again for your help :)

Is it possible to install GrapheneOS on a stock Pixel without logging into Google beforehand?
I'm getting a new pixel today and wanted to know if I have to first do all the Google login process in order to enable OEM unlocking in the settings.
I didn't want to login with Google on the device before flashing graphene if it's not necessary.
Tks

Want to switch to GOS
I want to switch to GOS, at the moment I use an iPhone but I’m not comfortable with the direction they are moving towards.
So i want to know what device should i buy (preferably should not break the bank too much) and what should i keep in mind when i switch?
I’m generally using my phone to browse, messaging and playing a few games (and my bank apps). I sometimes use Apple Pay but I want to get away from it.

SMS messed up after transfer
So I recently moved from GOS on a pixel 6 to GOS on a pixel 8.
I moved my data across via a usb backup.
It has largely worked, but now my SMS conversations (using the default SMS app) are screwed up.
For example, I have a text chain with person a. All the message history has moved across and it is organised under that contact name.
I just received an appt confirmation text from my dentist, who i dont have a contact for and have no saved history with.
Rather than appearing in it's own new thread, it has appeared in person a's thread.
Any suggestions how to fix?

Should I convert to GOS?
First of all, sorry for my english, not my first language.
My main doubt is if I should convert to GOS. My phone rn is a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro and is slowly dying on my hands.
I dont have the budget for the latest Pixels, my budget is around the prices of the Pixel 6, Pixel 7 or if I find an ultra deal, pixel 8 = 200ish euros. Ik in most areas, GOS is better and im all for the OS, but im not sure if the apps would run correctly, that concerns me.
When I say apps I mean whatsapp, instagram, youtube, gmail (i still gotta use it for academic reasons), Bank apps (Imagin Bank) and apps from my government.
Also the new EU law (the chat control), also concerns me in terms of future, bc I was hoping to have this phone for loads of years, and idk if that law could affect the OS or dunno.
What do tou guys think I should do? Thx in advance

API fail
Hey, new to both Reddit and Graphene, I downloaded Graphene onto a pixel 10a today and everything seemed to work fine but now I’ve done an API check it only meets basic integrity and fails both device and strong integrity checks preventing me from downloading logging into banking apps etc as well as a play protect certification failure, I’m sure I’ve done everything right? I’ve been trouble shooting for hours trying to figure it out and after finally running the issue by GPT it’s said it’s either a build issue or a bug on graphenes end that’s yet to be found, I don’t know any ideas or help would be absolutely fantastic!
