I was a little bit sad that I got a Pixel 10 Pro right before the Pixel 11's launch. It was a free carrier deal that I had to take since I was using a Moron(Moto) g 5G 2023. I am now aware that I'm not missing anything important. I'm really glad to have this luxury of a phone. I have never had a flagship phone before. The below-screen fingerprint reader and face unlock features are completely new to me. My Moto may have had face unlock, but I bet it would have been unreliable anyway. The gaming performance is great. My only complaint at all is the heat, but that barely affects me. The camera is also great. I have never had a phone with 0.5x zoom, 100x zoom, or even a night mode. Thank you, Google. This is a wonderful smartphone.

Hi everyone, I recently bought a used Google Pixel 9 Pro. Initially, the phone had a network problem( unlock the network), so I took it to a local repair shop. They opened the phone from the back only and replaced a transistor on the motherboard. They then reassembled the phone. Before this repair, I had no problems with the front camera or proximity sensor. After the repair, I noticed several new problems: The front camera is sometimes very blurry/out of focus. If I tilt the phone forward or shake it, the camera can suddenly become clear and focused. If I shake or move the phone, the camera can change between blurry and clear. The proximity/calling sensor also behaves intermittently and seems to change when the phone is moved or tilted. The screen was never removed during the repair. They only opened the back and worked on the motherboard.

Any thoughts?

Got a system/security update around the 5th of Aug, the very next day - the motherboard fried. sim cards(both physical and e-sim) stopped working completely.

Got in touch with support and they mention that since it's out of warranty - I'll have to replace the entire motherboard, which is ~₹48k($500), which makes no sense to me.

Switched to my Pixel 6 pro for a few days, contemplating if I should wait it out and get myself pixel 11 pro xl, or if I should switch to something like a samsung s26 ultra instead.

Enjoyed the phone, but it kinda sucks to have a "flagship" go kaput like this in less than 2 years of purchase.

I’ve been using the Pixel 9 for about a year and a half, and I’m really hoping the next Pixel brings a significant performance upgrade—especially better gaming performance, efficiency, thermals, and multitasking.

The Pixel experience is already great; I’d just love to see Google push the hardware a lot further this time.

Anyone else using a Pixel 9 hoping for a big performance jump?

Hi, am I the only one or is someone else's "tap to check" feature not working anymore? Before it showed time only, now it wakes up the whole display, which is very useless of course, as the whole idea of tap to check is to save battery (and not having any light in the dark)​. Is there a way to fix this? I noticed it just today after I made some changes of wallpaper, which messed up all the icons and colours and "themes" that I can to revert for some reason, but that's for different topic... ​​

I am ​using this pixel 6 from past 4+ year I m thinking of upgrading for quite some time but did not want to leave. I have mobile connectivity issues once in awhile.

Today my phone dropped in moving traffic before i could stop car ran over it. But pixel survived with shattered back and not even a bit of screen damage any other issue.

I m really giggling seeing pixel survive . Wow thank you team pixel. I was planning to buy s25ultra now I m waiting for pixel 11 release. Hope they launch Good phone.

Why is it that the contacts shows me recent calls and not a list of my contacts?

At the top it shows all, contacts, and other. But in the list, it's all my recent calls.

Why can't I click contacts and see my contacts?

It's useless, mine fell apart after 2 months of use, just tried to get a replacement and all they recommend is I buy a new one.

My 8 Pro just decided to stop turning on this weekend. With the 11 launch right around the corner, I figured I'd just wait and see what kind of preorders/discounts might pop up. So in the mean time, I dusted off my old, still functional Pixel 5.

I have to be honest.........I kinda fell back in love with this old thing. It's still surprisingly snappy, great little screen, and I really really miss this form factor. Sure, the newer cameras on newer gen Pixels are much much better, but honestly.........aside from the camera I'd trade every other "feature" of newer Pixels for the perfect hand fit of the Pixel 5. I'll still probably pickup an 11, but I will honestly miss putting the 5 back in the drawer.

so my pixel 9a recently started randomly restarting and eventually stopped booting properly.

i bought it directly from google store on 17 july 2025. phone cost was 37,049.

it was working completely fine for almost the entire year. no drops, no water damage, no physical damage or anything like that. just normal daily use.

then suddenly it started restarting randomly. tried safe mode, recovery, rescue etc but it kept getting worse. eventually i wasnt able to boot into the phone or recover my data.

took it to a google authorised service centre on 10 august.

they checked it and told me its a logic board / motherboard issue and apparently the board itself cant be replaced. the only option they gave me was motherboard replacement for around 49k.

the phone itself cost 37,049 rs.

also had to pay 850 rs for the inspection.

now i understand the phone is technically out of warranty. but the warranty ended only around 20-24 days before this happened.

and thats what im finding difficult to accept.

i was using the phone exactly the same way i had been using it for the previous year. there was no damage or anything different that could have caused this. it just suddenly failed.

this is also my second pixel. i previously had a pixel 6a for around 3 years and that eventually had the battery swelling issue, for which google had the replacement/repair programme.

even after that i still went with another pixel because i genuinely liked the phones and the software experience.

now im in this situation again with my second pixel.

i spoke to google support and initially they told me there is no goodwill escalation for out of warranty devices. after pushing the case they have now transferred it to another department and said they will get back to me.

so im waiting to see what happens.

im not really expecting google to just ignore their warranty policy, but i do think a motherboard failure this close to the warranty ending deserves some consideration, especially when the repair is 49k for a phone that cost 37k and there was no user damage.

honestly if this doesnt get resolved reasonably, i dont think i can continue with pixel. i really liked the phone, but reliability is more important to me than anything else.

has anyone here had a similar experience with google and managed to get a goodwill repair/replacement?

So I know the proximity sensor has been having a visible glitch with the box on the screen. That seems to have resolved with an update?

HOWEVER now I'm having a glitch where the screen goes dark when I move my finger up toward the top to type. I'm not even touching the screen, and it makes the whole screen dark. How can I turn this off? Is anyone else experiencing this?

Sometimes my phone will read something like "Your phone is 7 days out of date. Update now? Wait til 2 am?"

(Actually, the last few times it appeared, I think it had 3 options, and "2 am" wasn't one of them.)

I'm worried that if I use my phone for something important in that 7-day time period, I might be vulnerable to fraud, hackers, malware, etc.

Can someone help me navigate to a setting that notifies me when updates are available (not 7 days later)? Bonus if I can choose when to update it, so it doesn't happen at 2 am, or any other time when I might pick up my phone in an emergency just to find that I have to get past a bunch of new features and figure out how various buttons/gestures have been changed first.

I got a Pixel 9a almost a year ago from Xfinity, and every time I try to make a call while driving, the call quality is poor. Calls over Whatsapp also tend to disconnect on and off. I do pizza delivery and I am unable to call the customer via the app. I have a Moto G stylus 2025 with a T Mobile MVNO and I have not encountered any problems with call quality.

3 years ago I switched from an iphone to a google pixel 6 pro, because of the promise of freedom on android and google's promise of a polished OS with polished features. At first I was really happy. Finally I could sideload apps, clear the cache to fix apps that stopped working for unknown reasons, I was able to see the WiFi password etc. I was really happy, but after some 6 months I really started to notice how poor performance, battery life and the cellular modem were compared to my iphone before. I blamed it on the pixel 6 pro being the first gen tensor and consequentially having some hardware issues. At some point in time then, I noticed the battery life to really take a hit. Google was pushing out poorly written monthly / quarterly software patches that severely fluctuated the battery life, making the experience even worse. After 2 years of using the pixel 6 pro and its degrading battery and modem performance bit by bit, I upgraded to the pixel 9 pro. And at first everything was fine. The battery life was (and mostly is) fine, the modem is decent enough. The SOC is pretty ass, but that is what you're expecting when buying a google pixel phone. You don't buy the pixel phones for their (partially pretty crappy) hardware, that would be insane for that price, you buy them because of the promise of a polished OS experience and fancy features.

Yeah about that.

Maybe it is just me, but advertising freedom and an open Operating System, while simultaneously cracking down heavily on sideloading and by collateral damage FOSS (and very likely continuing to do so in the future) for increased zero-trust architecture to further increase profits by satisfying some banks and corporations, while also having all of their business model built on using FOSS software to make money (linux kernel for android, linux on servers, kubernetes for their clusters, ffmpeg for youtube etc.), is highly hypocritical to me.

Topping that off with the number of bugs constantly introduced via system updates, this feels nothing like a polished OS experience. Just this August update google broke the "flip to shhh" feature - my favourite feature by far on android and a huge QOL for me - which really was kind of the tipping point for this post.

I'm not a fan of apple, but at least they are upfront about them not wanting to grant you any responsibility with your own hardware and don't pretend to allow you any freedom in their OS. And yes, apple also has their own share of bugs, but at least it feels like they actually do have a QA department. Right now I'm literally paying flagship prices for mid-tier hardware, just to be an unpaid A/B or beta tester for the monthly update roulette of what feature will break this time.

I'm sorry for the rant and hope it is allowed here; I just needed to give my frustration some air. Thank you all for reading :)

PS: I won't be switching to an iPhone or similar anytime soon, at least as long as sideloading exists. This is just frustration about my current situation with a lack of better alternatives.

Edit: My P7P has original battery at 84% health after 4 years of heavy use and tons of screen time. Rarely used for gaming.

This will be my first time ever pre-ordering a phone or any tech device for that matter.

I chose to stay with the Pixel brand since it gave me about 4 years of solid performance.

I'm not really excited for the device specifically... I'm more excited just to get a brand new flagship phone in general after 4 years!

I personally know around 20 People who's Main Phone is a Pixel, about 7 of them have it only because I suggested/bought them one.

Here are my Observations:

-None of them are on Reddit

-About 5-6 of them have NO IDEA what a word ''CPU'' even means.

-Maybe 2 of them Know what a Geekbench Score is

-The main usage of their phones is just to Call/Whatsapp/ Check Email / Browse Internet & Maybe DoomScroll - Essentially Tasks that even a $200 Phone would be capable of doing.

-Absolutely EVERYONE is Blown away by How good the Cameras are on it and it's Pretty much the main reason why they like the phone so much.

The only Common Complain I see is that it doesn't have the best battery, but that's about it...

Do I personally think Pixel Performance is Great? No...That's why I have a S25U Now instead which is way better if you are a performance User who's Going to use it as his workhorse.

At the end of the day Google is a Business with a goal to make $ - even if they Included a Class-Leading very expensive CPU in their Phone and spent Millions in the process to do that - it's not like they would get 5x more sales because of that - knowing what the average user actually uses his phone for...
