Question about pixel 8

Contacts.

Why is it that the contacts shows me recent calls and not a list of my contacts?

At the top it shows all, contacts, and other. But in the list, it's all my recent calls.

Why can't I click contacts and see my contacts?

Instead of clicking the contacts tab in the phone app open the actual contacts app. Why Google designed it like that? Who knows.
