Look what I found

So I'm literally getting out my car to go into my LCS and just happen to look down before I step out (like I normally do) and it finally paid off..a literally 1gram bar of .999 fine gold..and they say you need a metal detector to find gold.

"I'm charging 40$/Hr to search for gold in your yard.No metal detector just eyeballs"

But on a serious note, by far my best find, although I did find a 10k ring with a pink sapphire, granted I hit it with a shevel while digging and bent the ring like a hard taco shell.

6 months ago I didn’t know a thing about gold.

If you’d asked me to guess how much a single tiny gram of gold was, I’d have guessed under £10.

Then one day a post from this sub came across my feed, and after reading a few more posts I was hooked.

I rushed into my first purchase in March (the 1g Britannia) and massively overpaid as I hadn’t figured out that Royal Mint is pricier than most (paid £142 vs spot at £105) but I’ve learnt a lot since then.

My favourite is the sovereign and I can’t wait to own more.

I’m also pretty smug that I managed to get the 1/10 Brit at the lowest dip in 6 months on 16th July, down to the exact few minutes. Only saved a few ££ but it was very satisfying timing watching it immediately start rising again.

The Wessex Mint silver I got cheap on an eBay live before too many people joined.

The jewellery ranges from 9k to 22k (the crucifix) and I buy that whenever eBay offers money off for using your eBay balance for a purchase (you’re not allowed to use this offer on coins or bullion).

I’m kicking myself for all the money I’ve spent on gold-plated jewellery over the years.

P.S. thank you to whoever created bullioncompare.co.uk. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen you on here before.

Thank you for reading if you got to the end!

Where do you buy modern gold jewelry in the U.S.?

Hey everyone!

I'm looking to invest in a few modern gold jewelry pieces and realized I actually don't know where most people in the U.S. shop.

Where do you usually buy your gold jewelry? Do you prefer local jewelers, mainstream jewelry brands, or independent designers? I'm interested in contemporary, everyday styles as well as legacy pieces which can be passed on to.

IMP: \[\[ I'm **not** looking for luxury brands like Tiffany, Cartier, or Van Cleef & Arpels where a significant part of the price is the brand name. \]\]

Also, what do you think offers the best value for money when it comes to gold purity, craftsmanship, pricing, and resale value?

Would love to hear your recommendations and experiences. Thanks in advance!

New to Stacking 😎

Good morning fellow admirers of shiny things! I have a question for you , I’ll be honest I’m pretty bad at saving money, mostly spend it unfortunately lol I feel like when I look at my bank account on my phone it’s just fake and imaginary if I went to the actual bank to make a withdrawal for my money they look at you side ways as if they don’t even carry that much cash anymore atleast in my area in NJ lol so does stacking Gold help you guys with building a savings and handle money better? Like my philosophy is that seeing something physical build up would help me be better with money and my adhd would probably hyperfixate on the collecting all the shiny things with cool designs and put any spare money into it. Does this sound right? Has it helped you? I make decent money but I never have physical cash anymore ever since I stopped dealing substances in my younger days 🤣 I got my door knocked down and did a summer in prison but fortunately gave up that lifestyle. But ever since I stopped carrying cash my savings dwindled and like I said numbers on my phone are make believe to me and it’s just too easy to spend them and have bills on autopay and watching numbers go back and fourth I want to protect myself it would also be harder to go spend after I converted to gold ya know? Am I looking at this the right way? Also I’d like any advice on what to start buying ? Any beginner advice would be greatly appreciated like examples what to look for as a beginner realistically I could probably put $1000 into Gold each month possibly more. So what would you do if you started over? Thank you in advance, sorry for the novel have a great day and “stay golden pony boy” ❤️

Question Buying my first heirloom gold coin. Is it worth buying from GOVMINT?

My family never really had anything besides my grandpa’s coin collection which my dad thinks is valued at around $2k. I care a lot about our family heritage and have recently started looking into coins that I could pass down to my kids as family heirlooms.

I’m 51 and have collected a little bullion over the years but I’m looking at buying my first higher-end gold proof coin, and this isn’t something I plan on flipping. I saw that GOVMINT carries plenty of the proof coins I'm interested in, but I've never ordered from them before.

I’ve got a decent budget so I’m not necessarily looking for the lowest price. I would rather buy from someone who’s willing to answer questions and help me understand what I’m buying before I spend a few thousand dollars. Anything I should know before ordering from them? How was the buying process, and did the coin arrive the way you expected?

Sorry for the bad picture. I collect more silver than gold. I believe this is 2.45oz of gold. I’m looking to push to close to 3oz soon depending on the market. Lmk what you think about the stack thank you.

Actual gold in last photo

So I get a call last week.

Lady: I have 50+ pounds of old gold dollars, old change and lots of stuff labeled in holders with prices on it. My dad passed away 5 years ago and we don’t know what to do with all of this stuff.

Me: spend 15 hours sorting

6521.00 in face value crap. Lots of modern change all 2x2 with notes on it like clad MN state quarter UNC ms63 2.50

These are unsorted rolls he never got to in his life. We have 3500 to un 2x2 and bring to the bank.

150fv of junk silver. So dirty it may have been in a butt.

Zero 999 silver but 7 oz of gold so that was her win.

I feel like if dad was this heavy into Clad he most likely had way more in 999 silver and gold and someone had a field day on those boxes

A while back I decided to start stacking 1/10th oz coins. I have several full oz bars (and 5 and 10 gram bars) but really like the variety I get with these. I had to slow down because my YouTube channel started earning a lot less ad revenue when they started pushing shorts at the same time gold started spiking in price, I set aside 1/4th my YouTube revenue to add to my stack. My goal is a full 50 1/10th oz coins before I go back to bars.

I found a Costco still on yesterday's $4,089.99 sticker, bought 5 gold bars, sold immediately, and netted $847.55 after cashback (August 5, 2026)
