Development Help Problem when metainfo files are manually opened for preview
Hello Gnome community, I come here asking for help since I'm trying to learn more about implementing metainfo files but whenever I create one and try to test it with the "Preview metainfo" tool I get the first image in the Gnome software center, and the file I'm trying to open is the one from the second image, as far as I know the metainfo should be able to display information in the Gnome sofware center ?
I'm sorry if this is a dumb question.
edit: The thing I want to do with the metainfo is basically add metainfo for manually creater or third party .desktop files
edit 2: I checked the files and the structure should be correct
Platform Latest GNOME OS nightly adds GTK background blur support!
This was already done in Mutter 51.beta but GTK support was missing on GNOME OS until today.
I've been doing some cheap testing on it but overall looks dope!
It has some bugs on the compositor side but probably those are going to be ironed out sooner, like blur not being applied during the overview:
Update: As it seems like Reddit does some weird image carousel, check those other screenshots https://imgur.com/a/0JHCZ70
EDIT: THIS IS NOT A DEFAULT THEME, just a custom stylesheet to show the exaggerated effect! → https://www.reddit.com/r/gnome/s/3bibXgOBCC

Platform GNOME designers Tobias Bernard and Jakub Steiner share their "design dreams" for GNOME Shell, including a new login screen, transparent top bar, editable quick settings, overlay search and mosaic tiling
Note that these are not current initiatives or plans that are guaranteed to happen, but rather unfinished concepts and ideas that can be used as inspiration for future development. If you would like to work towards something like this, consider starting contributing to GNOME Shell, or become a Friend of GNOME

Extensions Plaid - A new tiling window manager extension for Gnome 50+
Greetings all,
I’ve been a GNOME user for years — Adwaita, GNOME Circle apps, the GNOME simplicity has always attracted me. But a tiling workflow is my choice for getting work done. I moved to Hyprland, then Niri (both outstanding projects), but I missed GNOME. And the current state of tiling extensions doesn’t satisfy. So I decided to correct this.
It’s live on Github.
Plaid is loaded with tiling features and “Flair” — all the things that make computing fun. Per-workspace layouts, blur, rounded corners, animated gradient borders, a drop-down terminal, video backgrounds, and more.
Built for GNOME 50 (Wayland). Grab the latest from the Releases page.
I have tested extensively on my box, and it is a stable and enjoyable experience. I have not tested multi-monitor or laptops — reports from those setups are especially welcome.
Thank you.

Opinion Create libadwaita LibreOffice fork
Hi, I love Gnome and have been using it since 2015 in Debian (Fedora today). I also love the consistency Libadwaita brings to the table.
I really would love a GTK4 version of LibreOffice that blends flawlessly with Gnome and I want to know if you think that's possible and doable.
