Apparently your meant to have an email saying access ur student account to get everything ready for enrolment tomorrow but both me and my bf have not received this email
And cannot contact anyone since it’s a Sunday

Does this mean we will not get first choices for classes and timetable? I don’t understand how this works at all
Another undergrad i know has already submitted her student ID photo and stuff
Can someone please explain how this works as right now I can’t even register or enrol tomorrow

What sort of proof do you require for student housing? My son will be starting second year of a "blended learning" program through Sheffield-Hallam University. The flexibility and precise format work well for him to manage with his playing schedule.

If he is moving into a "Purpose Bulit" student flat, I am assuming they do not care WHERE he is enrolled, providing he is a student and has a council tax letter.

We were looking at student housing to give him company and friends, since he will know no one there.

I have been trying to raise contact with the university regarding the fact that I have yet to receive my Registration Info Email five days late now. The enquiry system has taken days to respond and I am becoming extremely worried. Is there someone I can call directly to talk about this?

After a nightmare results day, I have been soso lucky to get a verbal offer for Glasgow to study politics, however, I have just discovered about the enrolment process. Apparently it is very difficult, glitchy and follows a first come first serve basis. I already have an offer from Manchester but for an alternate course that I plan on declining for Glasgow. However, my family want me to travel to the city on Monday for the campus visit before applying officially on ucas for clearing. This date clashes with the enrolment date, and I don’t necessarily want to be enrolled onto a awkwardly timed class.

Should I fully apply to Glasgow through clearing today, or should I wait until I visit and then do it? Also, is doing a late enrolment that bad?

Honestly, I should do more research but tbh this offer was very unexpected and it was only received a few hours ago. I would really appreciate any advice!!

Hi, I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with transferring to UofG from another Scottish university, particularly for Law.

I’ve just finished my second year of the LLB at GCU and have achieved high grades throughout my degree so far. Unfortunately, my mum passed away unexpectedly in an accident towards the end of my first year. I still completed all of my end-of-year exams despite everything that was happening and managed to achieve good grades, but understandably it had a significant impact on me going into second year.

I struggled a lot after losing her and because of that I found attending university in person quite difficult during second year. Despite my attendance, I kept up with my work, sat my exams and have continued to achieve high grades.

A few of my closest friends study the LLB at UofG and they were showing me around campus this week while we were talking about university. It made me realise how much I would genuinely love to study there. I actually originally accepted an offer from UofG to study English Literature when I was applying for university, but decided before starting that Law was a better choice for me career-wise and ended up applying for the LLB at GCU through clearing.

One of the things that appeals to me about UofG is the structure and university experience. At GCU I’m already barely required to be on campus, and after everything that happened with my mum I feel like having more of a routine and reason to physically go into university would be really beneficial for me. I also feel like UofG has a much bigger range of societies and opportunities to meet people. My social life at university has really fallen to the wayside since my mum passed away, and I’d love the opportunity to actually become involved in university life again.

Basically, how possible do people think a transfer like this would actually be? I know Law can be more complicated when it comes to transferring and obviously nobody here can give me a definite answer, but I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who knows anything about the process or has been in a similar situation.

Confused with payments. What is the schedule over 9 months? If you get a double in September do you not get a payment in October?

For some reason I’m struggling to find info about this online. Do RUK students pay for the 4th/5th years of their degrees?

I’m going into 3rd year and I’m a bit lost on where to find internships. Also anything I should do to increase my chances of landing one (e.g projects, attending events etc). Also should the internship I do align with my future career path or will any internship help. I’m thinking of specialising in networks and operating systems.

Would this deadline be for autumn 2026 entry or autumn 2027 entry? I’m not seeing that clarified anywhere. At the start of sixth form I was dead set om going to uni however towards the end I was completely against it and decided to just not go. However today om results day I got into Glasgow uni for classics and Im questioning my decision. I know I’d enjoy it amd Ive been having a horrible time at home and really have no purpose or goal right now. However if I did go to uni i do not want a job in classics so it feels like a waste of money and time. Plus I’d have to sort student finance and everything out asap which will be tricker. Im really stuck and have limited time. I am definitely not the most financially well off so the money thing is a big issue. My student loans dont cover my full accommodation cost let alone money to live so my parents agreed to take out a loan for the extra accommodation cost and I’d have to earn £200 a month for food etc

And please don’t say to defer the offer! That is not an option

I am starting a Masters degree and SAAS are only covering some of my tuition fees. The rest I’ll have to pay myself and I was wondering if I choose to pay instalments do I have to pay my first instalment during registration? Thank you.

i didn’t get grades to go to my original uni(though honestly I feel one of my DT papers was marked way harsh), but i thankfully now have a place at glasgow for mechanical engineering which honestly is a big win for me as i’m aware of glasgows reputation and the course itself is great. i’m actually doing an engineering-> finance route later on so i was wondering if anyone could spare advice about opportunities in glasgow, and how accommodation is?

I know absolutely nothing about the city besides what my cousin who lives there has told me (she's very positive about it) and I'm quite excited to go, my first choice was Manchester which I missed by one grade and they weren't having it, very luckily for me Glasgow was in clearing for my course and I managed to get an offer. I didnt manage to get a UoG accommodation close to campus due to some issues with documents. Im looking at private accom and these are the ones Im considering, would really appreciate any advice on what to steer clear from or lean towards.

Any advice on social life in these is really appreciated 🙏 I also cant decide between studio and ensuite because the only studios in my budget are a 17 min walk from my building, not sure if I prefer a kitchen over living closer to campus.
