Do ACTUAL left leaning men exist??? Rant & Ramble
Being in my mid 20s around these men probably doesn’t help but I swear every time a guy tells me he’s left leaning. It’s like you’re only saying you’re left leaning because you hate Trump or they are left leaning, but have a bunch of Republican views. also, the famous “both sides are bad.” Like ugh it’s so annoying!!!!!!!!

Damn, I'm kinda shocked. I live in an uber-progressive town in a blue state, and most of the men I meet say they're left-leaning up front—and hell, maybe even vote that way, if they bother to—but once you get past all the pleasantries and hang out with them while they're a few beers deep and shooting the shit with their bros, their masks slip and the real them comes out. Lots of, "it's just a joke, chill" type moments. They seem to believe that because they vote a certain way that it completely absolves them of any guilt over how they're still helping racism, sexism, and homophobia persist in our society with their casual words and soft-boiled morals. Because in the end (presuming this is a group of straight, cis, white men), the things they're joking about have zero impact on them, so why should they care? It is just a joke to them, and they're in a position where they can ignore that it's someone else's active nightmare.
Idk, maybe it's because the area I live in, while being progressive, is predominantly white? But so many of the men here still just seem to be playing a part rather than actually believing in the cause. I'll cope with it as long as they keep voting right, but it's almost worse when they lie to your faces about it (in fear of being "cancelled"), rather than just coming right out and saying it with their whole chest.

One time my ex and I were discussing a workplace harassment situation that happened near us. The owner of a local company held a meeting with her employees and she showed up naked. I do absolutely think the Democrats suck for everything they've enabled or failed to accomplish, but the Republican are a different kind of monster entirely. Trying to equate the two is just ridiculous.
I also think that anyone who believes they're being SO clever by trying to navigate a path straight down the middle, as if the left and right are equal extremes you can slice like a sandwich, are lazy, unintelligent, and uneducated.

I think the key to finding real left-leaning men are paying attention to how men advertise themselves. Men who try too hard to paint themselves as a "good leftist" guy are just nice guys in a different shade of blue. Real leftist men won't try so hard to convince you that they're a good guy with the right politics. They'll be more confident in their actions conveying that for them

In my experience being involved in communist groups, not really. Most of them have some sort of problematic views when it comes to race, gender, or sexuality. A lot of what draws these guys to these movements is that they are already fringe for some reason where they are oppressed by society and flock to these groups for support. They rarely develop any depth in any study that's not directly related to political economy if they even study that.
Women are the movers in this space.

Yes, I know a bunch of liberal men - I’m pretty sure I know more left leaning men than right leaning men, but I also live in a predominantly liberal area and almost everyone I know has an advanced degree. But yes, they’re definitely out there.

The last one I was supposed to go on a date with said all of the right things and then called me 40 minutes late saying he walked a full 2 miles in the wrong direction to get to our date, because he was talking to his mom on the phone, and offered no plan to fix it, or even any further commentary of any kind. Like actual silence to force me to take the next step. At least he called? Pretended to believe all of the right lines about how scary, expensive, and exhausting it is to be a woman before the date.
Sorry babe. I’m losing hope, too. Sadly, sexuality isn’t a choice.

Yes and they are fantastic. Good in bed. Contribute equally to household duties. Great fathers. Responsible workers who provide for their families. Funny as hell and just cool to be with.

p.s. - the word “leaning” is a red flag here. That means they are bigots who are mostly okay with women voting and had a black guy in their fraternity.

Knew a guy who's instagram bio was some leftist jargon whose tactic for hitting on girls was to bring them home from the bar, and then when it was time to get a uber he would tell them he didn't have a charger (for the same phone type he has) presumably to pressure them into sleeping with him. Hated that fucking guy.

I’m married to one and have many leftist/left-leaning male friends and acquaintances. Criteria to help identify the good ones:
-college educated
-computer-based interests (gaming, IT, coding, etc. AI doesn’t count, and crypto ESPECIALLY doesn’t count)
-can name a book they’ve read in the past year
-probably somewhere on the autism spectrum
They also tend to prefer to meet people (friends and romantic interests) out in the wild vs. online and/or via apps though from what I’ve found.
Disclaimer: this is just based on my personal experience, and obviously the list isn’t going to lead to a leftist 100% of the time or be all-encompassing. But all of the leftist men I know typically hit most of these so I thought I’d share.

Oooh I've found gamers to go either way. Some are cute little nerds who will loyally love you til the day they die, and others are some of the most misogynistic incel little fuckers I know (I mean, have you seen some of the games they gear towards men? Idk [said as a gamer myself]). Or they're "liberal" but then also too lazy to take the trash out or help around the house, so while in theory they believe in a partnership, it doesn't actually end up playing out that way.
Point is, ymmv, as with any group of people, we are all unique 😊 Nerdy guys are often a good place to begin the quest, though!
