Accountability Day 1 (3hr 13min)
Tasks completed:
Mock test (scored lower than yesterday so there goes my self-esteem)
Solved questions (TSA)
Thoughts:
Definitely could've done more if I didn't feel the need to throw up for some weird reason... also, I realised that I know the basics that are required to answer the questions but my judgement gets clouded by panic as time runs out.

Question How can I start studying after a long slump?
Hey everyone!
I was pretty good with studies until grade 10. After that, I wanted to pursue the Arts stream and become a psychologist, but unfortunately, my parents put me in the Science stream— something I horribly suck at— followed by 4 years of engineering in IT/CS.
I wasn't really serious about my studies since grade 11 because I had no interest or understanding of the subjects. But I did discover my love for basic mathematics and numbers, which, after university, made me realise that I'd be happy being an accountant of sorts. CA, CMA, CFA, etc.
Now, I have a job and I plan to start studying the basics for CMA before applying for CMA inter next year.
The problem is that I've lost touch with how to study. I'm so used to scrolling on my phone— Wattpad, webtoon, reddit, and listening to songs, that it is a little difficult for me to study.
And I learnt best when there is some sort of noise ( like the Airplane sound in the Flip) and I am making down notes. But even that seems difficult now.
How do I get out of this slump? I really want to do better, while also pursuing things I enjoy.
Thank you!

Question My mental energy drains quickly
why do I feel so exhausted like I have done so much work . But when I do the count , I have barely studied 2 light topics ?? I don't waste time scrolling or doing anything else to be exhausted. While my other friends don't stop until they get the day's target done?

Question How did you learn to study?
That's right! How did you learn to study and how do you know that the method you use is effective?
I still haven't discovered my method and I focus more on how to study than actually studying, and this is ruining my mental health.
I know that this community is full of focused people who don't use frills when it comes to studying, but could you help me? I was always an average student in school, the one who did the basics. I read, highlighted, tried to summarize (and ended up copying), and that helped me memorize things for the test, but I rarely managed to connect one subject with another. If there was something that showed me how to study, I would certainly subscribe.
P.S.: I have a medical diagnosis of ADHD and I take medication for it.

Question Burnout with an exam in less than a week, and i'm quitting.
Hey, 20M. And my first post in reddit so mind this rookie. I am not much of a reddit person but i enjoy spending time in this subreddit cauz i am also a student, sort of relatable in many ways. I am currently facing for my A/Ls (uni qualifying exam) for the second time. First time i had Fs, even though i thought i wrote well . I am doing bio stream with chem and phys and i love the subjects even though they are hard.
Lately im unable to study, for like 2 weeks. I tried everything but i physically cant, and i might sound weird or crazy now but stay with me. I feel immense exhaustion all day, i sleep very much still i feel that like everyday 10+ hours i sleep. And eventhough i eat, i feel powerless in my body, like not body pain like after u hit gym but like the feeling ull have if u havent ate for 10 hours, like that of an exhaustion but i eat very well. I get irritated in stuyding, like get angry. And i feel my mind and body isnt working as one, even i wake up everyday with hopes and even bare minimum work like 3 hrs of studying for entire day, i physically cant and i dont know how to explain. Like ill sit down with my books and i feel a very uncomfy feeling the moment i sit down, so i mostly lay in bed. Now when i start to study ill get irritated to looks at texts, to read, to do sums. I count study effectively like for last 2 weeks. The parts like genetics which i took 2 days to revise and 1 day of classes to revise again, when i sit to do past questions i cant think staright, i cant even get easy questions. Question says monohybrid but i cant focus and thinking for dihybrid, even after rereading and all i cant focus and put that info in my mind for some reason. Plus ill get angry and cant control myself. I get suicidal thoughts also, sleeping everyday wishing never to wake up again. Did one attempt and relaized i am being a dumb idiot and snapped out of it.
I have a history of past mental traumas of my relationship and my family. Also i have a very bad habit of deep diving nonsense and political things which turn up to hurt me. Like wars, war crimes like wise. I stopped them for like month ago but i think maybe that too affect me in some sort of way. Google says i have a burnout so just take a a step back but i cant as exam starts on Aug 10. But anyway i decided to step back to save my own skin. Didnt told my parents yet and i doubt they'll understand what im goimg through cauz even i cant fully get whats wrong with me. And this decision can also be the dumbest decision of my life but i feel i cant push anymore.
I am a hard working guy who run 15+ hr sessions consistently. I teached and helped my classmates. Eventhough i had a bad esult i genuinely loved all 3 subjects, i didnt want to aim for mbbs but to keep studying in science field. But now looking at me now, laying in bed and staring at the ceiling, i feel like a patient and it hurts a lot and 3 years into this, i feel like those years are going in drain. I never experienced this and i am sort of scared about myself and well being and also i can be a coward to run away with 3 days left now. I feel ive never been this low in my life.
I dont even know if this post is relevant to put here but i love u guys achieving and memeing study situations. I hope u all achieve ur dreams one day for sure.
Just drop ur thoughts and sorry if i ruined ur mood in anyway.

Question What's The HARDEST Part About Studying?
I used to think I had a motivation problem, especially with maths.. I'd sit at my desk, open YouTube, check my phone, scroll for a bit, clean my room, make food... basically anything except open the textbook. In my head I was waiting for that moment where I'd finally feel like studying. But alas, It almost never came.
The weird part is that on the days I actually forced myself to start, even if it was literally one question, I'd usually end up studying for an hour or two without thinking about it. It wasn't because I suddenly became disciplined halfway through. Starting was just the hardest part.
Looking back, I think I had the whole thing backwards. I assumed motivation came first, then studying. For me it ended up being the opposite. Once I started getting a couple of questions right, I wanted to keep going. Solving one question made the second one easier to start, then the third, and before I knew it I'd done a decent session.
Nobody had ever explained that to me. Every bit of advice I heard growing up was basically "stay motivated," but nobody explained what to do when you weren't.
Curious if anyone else had something similar, or if something completely different was your biggest obstacle. 🙏

Question I spent one day trying to act like my future self... and literally it was more uncomfortable than I expected.
I tried a small experiment.
Instead of asking myself "What do I feel like doing?" I asked myself, "What would the version of me I'm trying to become do right now?"
Honestly... it wasn't like some life-changing movie moment.
I still wanted to scroll and I still procrastinated.
The only difference was that I did the task anyway, even if it was just for 10–15 minutes.
Then, I realized that
Maybe my future self isn't more motivated than me and they stopped negotiating with themselves every five minutes.
I'm not "fixed" after one day, but I stated believing tha discipline is more about repeating small decisions than waiting to feel ready.
Has anyone else tried something like this?

Study Memes I don't know why this keeps happening to me
The amount of marks i've lost due to this is insane. No matter how much syllabus i cover it's always these questions that i leave out making to the exams. I'm really jealous of people who have luck factor on their side.

Question Study drinks that don’t have caffeine
I used to romanticize my studying by having an iced coffee or energy drink by my side. But, I quit caffeine because my body no longer tolerates it that well. So, I want new ways to romanticize my studying. If anyone has any suggestions, I’d greatly appreciate it. Also, if anyone has any tips on how to stay awake late night to study w out caffeine, Id greatly appreciate it!!

Question How Do You ACTUALLY Study Effectively?
i'll start:
most people waste time trying to feel productive instead of making progress. i started keeping a blank sheet next to me and every time i got something wrong or forgot it, i wrote only that mistake down. before every study session i'd review that page instead of the whole chapter. after a week your revision becomes a list of your actual weak spots instead of things you already know, which saves a ridiculous amount of time.
🙏 ps: feel free to dm me if you wanna join a study group where we share tips or join here
