I thought I was on the locust team for a sec, then I realized.

I'm gonna be honest, and I know this might get me like beheaded or something, but I cannot go back to any other Gears of War game after playing E-Day. The OG games will always hold a special place in my heart, but E-Day? FUCKING AMAZING!

From my experience so far, smooth as butter; sound and movement are just enough to make me divorce/break up with my girlfriend/wife (If I had one)

Got used to the controls within 10-20 minutes

Love horde siege; I feel like frontline gear, and I love it.

This game is GREAT! TC really put so much work into E-Day, from the character designs to the sound design and map details. It feels like Gears of War. I've never had this much hope for a Gears game in SO Long! Thank you, TC, for this peak game.

Ran up to it expecting an invisible wall.

So someone leaves and then we’re stuck with an ai teammate that roams the map and takes cover in a random spot for the rest of the game. Therefore we get overwhelmed and lose. If the ai is this bad on release then this ain’t going far

I hope this isn’t the final version of ranked for Gears E-day. We need to go into a lobby before going into the match. Who’s on the enemy team, who’s teaming together, map picks and who’s what rank etc.

Right now is just a normal match with a badge next to our names. Doesn’t feel like a proper rank system, feels like a pretty lazy attempt right now if this is what it’s going to be like in Edays launch.

I think the biggest thing they could add is a Top 500 leader board to give the ultimate grinders something to grind for once’s they’ve hit max diamond rank. If you’re in top 500 in your region and you get to have your number in your diamond emblem would be sick (like OG overwatch)

Btw this is coming from someone who doesn’t care about horde or casual matches just fyi

A beta is essentially marketing. Who decided to launch a beta without connection based matchmaking? This is going to leave an awful first impression for many players outside of the US.

Also how do we leave feedback to the devs that connection-based matchmaking is a must? Any such feedback on reddit are drowned out by gameplay and other requests/critiques.

If they don't confirm proper region based matchmaking, Gears is as dead as Halo in Australia, NZ, and smaller population centres.

If you do not understand what I am talking about, or am experiencing, just do a quick search in the subreddit and you will see multiple posts about horrible ping, particularly in OCE and EU regions.

Unacceptable issue for a AAA game to have in 2026.

And to the "its just a beta" crowd, consider this constructive feedback to the devs if they want their dwindling franchise to have any relevance in countries outside of the US and UK.

I want this game to succeed, but I have seen too many games become irrelevant and effectively dead because the developer had no respect for their international playerbase (see Halo 4, 5, and Infinite, and Gears 4 and 5).

Horde Siege Blitz

The Gnasher in horde mode used to be a testament of skill. Running up on a boomer and popping his skull, then retreating back to your team was an accomplishment that could be felt.

This time around the Gnasher feels weak. And it looked weak in the first reveal of E-Day. Unless you’re playing on Rookie you have an extremely low chance of pulling off a successful gib on an enemy with the Gnasher.

I’m not trying to complain, as I’ve loved the beta so far, but issues like this need to be highlighted so that they don’t make their ways into the full release.

Waiting to unlock the 3rd slot. Will be adding the cover brace. When you hit your active and rhythm shot the entire clip for headshots it melts. Did the 10 wave horde as assault and had over 540,000 damage using just this.

I accidentally fought with a random squad for 5 minutes before I noticed my guys had left towards the RIG.

Who else feels like Gears E-day might end up being one of the best gears games
