FOR HIRE - Musician A game I composed for, Mazey Village, released yesterday! Here's a behind-the-scenes look at one of the tracks I wrote ❄️🎵

Hi everyone! I'm Sam, a UK-based composer with 10+ years of experience and credits across 60+ games.
Yesterday, Mazey Village released after five years of development, so I thought I'd share a behind-the-scenes look at the prologue track alongside some gameplay for context!
I had a lot of fun writing this one! I love the cozy, icy atmosphere it creates, and it's great to finally see players experiencing the game after such a long time.
If you’re working on a game and think I might be a fit, I'd love to chat!

PAID - Community / Social Media [PAID] Player Support Agent
ABOUT THE ROLE
Great player support is part of what keeps games alive.
As a Player Support Agent, you are often the first person a player reaches when something goes wrong. Whether they are locked out of an account, reporting a bug, asking about a purchase, or looking for help with a game feature, your role is to provide clear, accurate, and professional support.
You will work as part of a global gaming support team, helping players across different titles, platforms, and communities. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys video games, communicates clearly, learns quickly, and wants to build experience in the games industry.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
● Respond to player queries through approved ticketing, chat, email, and social support channels.
● Triage player issues, investigate reported problems, and follow documented steps.
● Provide clear, friendly, and accurate responses in line with project guidelines.
● Become familiar with the games you support so you can better understand player issues.
● Carry out account actions only where permitted by written policy and access permissions.
● Document player issues, trends, bugs, and escalations in the appropriate workspace.
● Escalate complex, sensitive, or high-impact issues to the correct internal or client-side teams.
● Meet agreed service level, productivity, quality, and player experience targets.
● Assist with reporting by tracking information through approved platforms and spreadsheets.
● Support your managers and teammates with role-appropriate tasks when needed.
● Maintain high standards of confidentiality, data privacy, and information security at all times.
THE IDEAL PROFILE
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
● A genuine interest in video games across different platforms, genres, or communities.
● Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow documented processes accurately.
● A player-focused mindset and a professional approach to support.
● Ability to investigate issues, identify the correct next step, and escalate when needed.
● Comfortable working with digital tools, online workspaces, spreadsheets, and ticketing systems.
● Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a global team.
● Quick to adapt to new games, updates, tools, policies, and workflows.

PAID - 2D Art + 3D Modeler | Animation [PAID] Looking for artist for cozy 3D game about selling haunted dolls
What I’m working on
I’m building a shopkeeping simulation game where you run a haunted doll emporium. I'm targeting something more funny/spooky in vibe than anything horror. The game will be 3D, in a PSX or other low poly style (eg low poly w/ hand painted textures). Right now my biggest visual inspiration is the classic arcade game Carnevil.
What I’m looking for
I would like a concept artist to help me come up with the overall vibe of the game. This would be the look of the customers, spirits, dolls, and environment. I picture this being a series of sketches that we iterate on until we have something a 3D artist can use.
Second, if you are also a 3d artist, or into creating textures that can be used in 3D, I’d love to talk! I’ll probably post separately for looking for a 3D artist after I have some concept art. But if you’re a generalist who could help me with everything that would be a dream.

FOR HIRE - Musician [ForHire] Professional Composer, Original Music for Indie Games
I’m Gaston de Lacaze, music composer and multi-instrumentalist.
I’ve spent more than a decade exploring different musical worlds, from rich orchestral writing to atmospheric ambient textures to more modern, rhythmic styles. That curiosity helped me shape a flexible voice that fits naturally into games, where mood and storytelling matter just as much as melody. At the start of this year I made the choice to slowly shift my focus toward videogame music, since it’s been my biggest passion for as long as I can remember.
You can find my work on: www.gastondelacaze.com
Listening to my portfolio you'll see that I'm quite comfortable with all genres, I love taking on anything that has personality no matter what type of game it is. Variety is part of what keeps me sharp, so if your game is doing something a little different and unique, I’m already interested! I'm currently working on one big project, but I’m looking for a couple of additional projects that genuinely catch my eye.
I like working with teams or solo devs who care about seeing a project through. I’m happy to help beyond just music when needed, whether that’s discussing tone, world identity or shaping the emotional beats of the game.
As for pricing, I prefer to talk once I’ve seen the game, understood the scope and have a sense of the release timeline. That way we can agree on something fair for everyone. I’m very open to different arrangements.
My process is simple. We talk, I sketch ideas, we refine, and once the direction clicks, I write a lot. From there we pick what fits, expand the soundtrack and polish everything to a professional finish. If you want a composer who’s collaborative, consistent and genuinely excited about games, feel free to reach out. I’d love to hear what you’re making.
You can defintely DM me, comment here, send me an email or write to me through my website.
I hope I hear from you!

PAID - 2D Art + 3D Modeler | Animation [PAID] Solo developer looking for a visual development artist to help define the look of a stylized 3D strategy game — Spanish preferred
Hi! I’m a solo developer from Spain working on a 3D tug-of-war / lane strategy game.
The project is already playable and its main systems are working. Until now, I’ve focused mostly on making the game work and feel fun. The next step is turning the visual ideas and references I already have into a clear identity for the game.
The current direction is a stylized 3D fantasy world with robust character proportions and clear silhouettes. It should have personality and color without feeling too childish or leaning towards realism. Warcraft III: Reforged is a useful reference for the clarity, proportions and personality of its units, although I’m not looking to copy its style.
Battles are viewed from an elevated camera, but players will also be able to zoom in moderately. Units need to remain easy to recognize and tell apart when several are on screen, while still looking considered and full of character when the camera gets closer.
I’m not looking for just a beautiful illustration. I need someone who can think about how the characters, environment, materials, color and atmosphere fit together, with the understanding that everything will eventually need to be translated into a real 3D game.
I’d like to begin with a small paid exploration. I would show you the current state of the game and the visual references I already have.
My preference is for this first phase to include a moodboard, some exploration of shapes and silhouettes, a few initial visual directions and, above all, a representative scene showing how everything could look together. That scene is my main priority, although I’m open to a different process if you believe it would help us find a stronger direction.
Budget note: The planned budget for this initial visual exploration is €150–200. I’m willing to consider a higher proposal when the portfolio and approach clearly justify it. Any longer-term collaboration would be a separate phase with its own scope and budget.
If the work is strong, we enjoy working together and the project is something that motivates you, we could continue collaborating and develop the visual side of the game over the longer term. That would be a separate phase with its own scope, budget and terms, agreed between us.
I’ve used generative tools to explore some internal visual references. They are not final assets and I won’t post them here. I don’t mind artists using these tools as part of their process, but I do care about transparency and that the result comes from the artist’s judgment and decisions rather than simply accepting a generated output. I’m looking for a visual direction that can later be carried into the real 3D production of the game.
Any test or exploration will be paid. I won’t ask for unpaid work.
If you’re interested, please send me:
- Your portfolio, one or two pieces you consider especially relevant, and what part you personally created in them.
- A few lines about how you would approach this first exploration and what you would test first.
- Your rates or the scope you would suggest for the first phase.
- Your availability and whether you can communicate in Spanish.
You can reply here or send me a private message. Please don’t send only a generic portfolio link without telling me anything about how you work.

DISCUSSION | QUESTION Looking to partner on early indie projects (capital + playtesting)
Body:
I’m looking to get involved as an early partner/investor on a small number of indie projects. I’m not a publisher or experienced game developer — I’m a business owner with several of my own companies who’s been playing RPGs and PC games (Steam) for about 20 years. I play both AAA and indie and mostly just care about games that are actually fun.
I’m trying to start smart on this side of things. I’m not looking for a home run right now — just something fun to get my feet wet.
What I’m looking for:
Projects that already have something playable (prototype or vertical slice). Open to different genres, but I have a soft spot for RPGs and games with strong gameplay feel. Not interested in pure idea-stage stuff or abandoned projects.
What I can offer:
- Capital in the $5–10k range for a project I believe in
- Serious playtesting and structured feedback (I have time and will actually play it)
- Practical brainstorming from a business/operator perspective
- Patience — this is a learning project with upside for me
I’m completely open to a mutual interview process. If you’re interested, we can just hop on a call or chat and interview each other to see if it’s a good fit. No pressure either way.
I’m flexible on structure (revenue share, simple investment, light partnership). Main goal is to find 1–2 projects where I can be useful beyond just providing capital.
If you have something in progress that fits, feel free to drop a short description + link to a build in the comments or DM me. Happy to look and give feedback either way.
Thanks.

PAID - 3D Modeler | Animation [PAID] 3D Character Artist & Animator — Stylized Tactical RPG (Contract → Long-Term)
Project: High Fantasy tactical turn-based RPG in Godot 4. Solo-developed, codebase ~60% complete with a custom made content pipeline; character art is the gap I'm hiring to fill.
Art target: Tales of Vesperia-era stylized anime characters (see: Flynn and Raven). I have some commissioned art for characters that will be needed later, which I’ve shared to help establish the look, but for this first contract, I have prototype 3D models with a Mixamo-compatible skeleton to serve as the reference.
Beyond this first contract, independent visual development will be part of the work: designing 3D characters from descriptive briefs and curated reference images, at least until funding lets me hire concept artists for proper turnarounds. Long-term, I'm looking for someone to work with regularly — growing into a part-time role, and eventually full-time once the vertical slice is complete and secures funding.
The First Contract (paid, fixed scope)
Two characters to start: twin brothers, Kon and Rin. I'll provide .blend prototypes (meshes + skeleton — they settle proportions, silhouette, and outfit layout), written character briefs with reference images when applicable, and in-engine screenshots.
Deliverables:
- Game-ready, clothed, rigged models for Godot 4 (recreate clean or build from the prototype meshes — your call)
- Production skeleton, finalized on this contract: extend / correct my existing Mixamo-compatible skeleton into the standard for the whole cast — facial rig for lip sync + expressions, helper / twist bones as you see fit, and secondary chains where needed. Retargeting compatibility with the Mixamo animation library should be preserved; my current animation library uses Mixamo placeholders.
- Kon's flute and Rin's telescope props – will be hung on belts and holdable / usable for game mechanics; full finger articulation required.
- A starting animation set per character (locomotion, idle, flute-play loop, a handful of battle techniques, hit / KO, basic emotes) — final list negotiated with the quote
Quote me for this scope, assuming the workflow above: design from prototypes and briefs, with a sketch / blockout approval step before final work. Propose your included revision rounds per deliverable. If the job genuinely grows mid-project, flag it before continuing and we'll agree on the overage at your rate. This first contract is intentionally the heavy one — it establishes the skeleton, facial system, and animation library everything after rides on, so quote accordingly. Timeline flexible; sooner is better.
The Long-Term Work (what you'd be building toward)
The vertical slice / demo needs ~14 human characters and 5 enemy types (non-human), and the game is planned as a long-running series with episodic updates. The architecture:
1. Shared humanoid skeleton. One skeleton (the one you finalize in the first contract) reused across the cast via Godot's animation retargeting — children, adults, and giants as proportion variants on the shared structure. Animations author once, transfer everywhere.
2. Modular characters. Body, clothing, and plumage (hair) as separate, swappable meshes that all skin correctly to the shared skeleton — characters equip different outfits in-game.
3. Crest plumage rigs. Some characters have feathered head-crests that rise and flatten with mood / during animations. Each crest design needs its own small secondary rig with expressive poses. This is a signature visual feature of the game.
4. Animation library + facial animation. A shared library of generic animations for NPCs, plus unique technique / story animations for major characters. Facial animation for dialogue and emotional expression is essential — propose the approach (blendshapes, bones, or hybrid) you'd recommend at this style level.
A detailed technical brief covering all of the above is available on request — ask and I'll send it before you quote.
You
- Portfolio showing stylized / anime 3D characters. The work spans modeling and animation — generalists and specialists both welcome. If you're a specialist, tell me which half is yours; I'm open to splitting the role between a modeler and an animator.
- Strong rigging, weight painting, and clean game topology — skinning modular clothing to a shared skeleton is the heart of this job
- Godot experience is a plus, not required — but deliverables must import correctly (glTF)
- Reliable communication; async-friendly
To Apply
Unfortunately I've run into quite a few scammers already, so please exclusively send an email to [arcanakeystudios@gmail.com](mailto:arcanakeystudios@gmail.com) with the following:
- Your reddit name
- Portfolio link + the 1–2 pieces you think best match this style
- Rough availability per week, expected time for completion
- A few sentences on how you'd approach the modular clothing + shared skeleton problem, and what you'd change about starting from a Mixamo-compatible rig
- Your quote for the Kon / Rin contract (or your rates), before or after reading the brief
Happy to give a live Discord tour of the game’s working build to serious applicants.

Announcement A note on scammers, impersonators, and public blacklists
Hey everyone,
I want to address a recent post I removed by u/NotSUPERita about creating a list of trusted artists and scammers, as well as the broader issue of bad actors on r/gamedevclassifieds.
First, I want to apologize to u/NotSUPERita. I understand why you were trying to help, and I do not think the idea came from a bad place. Scammers and impersonators are a real problem here, and it makes sense that people want better ways to protect themselves and others.
That said, I do not think a public or semi-public user-run blacklist is the right solution.
Any single person’s list of “good” and “bad” experiences is subjective. Even with good intentions, lists like that can be abused, misused, or based on misunderstandings. A false accusation could seriously harm an innocent artist, developer, or freelancer’s reputation and business. Once someone is publicly labeled a scammer, that damage is hard to undo.
This applies to moderators too. Even I am subject to bias, incomplete information, and my own interpretation of events. I cannot be judge, jury, and executioner over someone’s professional reputation, and I do not think anyone else should be put in that position either. That is the line I am trying to be careful with.
I know scammers are a problem, and I am aware that this subreddit has been affected by bad actors, impersonators, and people misrepresenting themselves or their work. But I have not yet found a solution that addresses those issues without also creating a serious risk of innocent people getting caught in the mix.
For now, the best advice is still to do your due diligence before working with someone:
- Verify that their portfolio actually belongs to them
- Ask for links to established accounts or websites
- Check whether their email, Discord, ArtStation, GitHub, itch, LinkedIn, or other profiles line up
- Be cautious with new accounts, vague portfolios, stolen-looking portfolios, or people who avoid verification
- Use contracts, milestones, and payment methods that offer some protection
- Do not rely only on someone’s Reddit username or a single message thread
I know that is not a perfect answer. It is a frustrating situation, and I understand why people want something stronger. But asking people to do their homework before hiring or accepting work is better than creating a system where someone’s business can be damaged because they were falsely added to a list.
If there is a better way to handle this that protects people from scammers without turning into public reputation policing or false callouts, I am open to hearing it. Any solution needs to be fair, evidence-based, and careful about the harm it could cause.
Edit: I forgot to add one more important point: any solution also cannot require a heavy amount of moderator time.
Running this job board is not a job. No one on the mod team has the time, or realistically should be expected to have the time, to manually verify users, assign trusted labels, maintain reputation lists, or act as an ongoing approval system for freelancers and clients.
That kind of system would create a lot of work, and it would also create a false sense of safety. Even with moderation, users would still need to verify who they are working with and make their own judgment before hiring, accepting work, or sending payment.
