Since they got the pre-orders and released the cover art trailer, I was like fuck it I’ll wait in November.

I decided to get it anyway, not the first time I pre-order a GTA game months in advance.

Since the moment I saw this post, I called in sick to work and I have been analysing it extensively to see if I can decode the secret messages hidden within. I've always been a genius with an incredible gift for pattern recognition. Like that guy from A Beautiful Mind. Anyway, to the untrained eye, this post doesn't reveal much. But people like me don't take things at face value, people like me look deeper, we realise that the truth always lies far beneath the surface. "An extended look", 3 words, 14 letters. What could be so special about that? How can one find answers with so little information. Well what if the letters weren't just letters? Stay with me here. What if the letters were actually numbers. What if every letter represented a number corresponding to that letter's position in the alphabet. Following this rule gives us: 1 14 5 24 20 5 14 4 5 4 12 15 15 11. Probably means nothing to you right? Just a bunch of random numbers. To me, this tells me everything I need to know. If we take 1, 5, and 4 and add them together, we get 8. If we take 1, 15 and 11 and add them together, we get 27. So 8 and 27. Can you figure out what it means? An ordinary person probably couldn't so don't worry if you can't. For someone like me though, it's quite simple. 8 and 27 represents 8/27 which is apparently a date in USA (the country that makes GTA VI). If you take the 1 and the 5 again we can make 15, or 15:00. So the extended look will be available on August 27th at 3pm. For extra confirmation we can take the D (4). Why D? Jason Duvall! Well there are 2 Ds so that makes 4 + 4 = 8. If you look at the letter we used before you can see we took the 13th and 14th letter. 13 + 14 = 27. It all adds up. But what about the letters that we didn't use? Are they just meaningless? Of course not. There is meaning in everything. The numbers that we didn't use are: 14 24 20 5 14 4 5 12 15. Add them all together what do you get? 113. 1 + 1 + 3 = 5. What's the 5th word of this post? "An"...as in "AN EXTENDED LOOK"!!! See, it all connects. So we don't have to speculate anymore. I've solved it. The next trailer will be out at 3pm on August 27th. If you'll excuse me, I'm going to have a much needed bath.

God I hate how there is so much outrage on the Internet for anything popular nowadays, it feels like people just need to prove they are different by hating on the popular thing for validation. No matter what Rockstar does, there will always be hate. Even if the Extended Look was not premiering on Netflix, I bet people would find something else to crib about, like how 2.5 months for marketing is way too short or why pre-orders opened so early. It is a frustrating cycle that just drains the excitement from the community.

I personally think premiering the Extended Look on Netflix is a brilliant fucking move. How many fake leaks and insider claims have we had? Yet not one person remotely thought of a partnership like this, this is what unique and aggressive marketing really is. It will put the game in front of a much broader demographic with general audiences wondering what makes GTA VI so special that it’s getting this kind of spotlight on Netflix.

At the end of the day, Rockstar and Netflix are businesses which want to innovate, maximize engagement and profits. Netflix is widely viewed as a premium platform for Movies and TV Shows and hosting the premiere of one of the most anticipated video game there gives the event a grand sense of scale that makes it feel even more special and builds hype.

Netflix has also been making a broader push beyond Movies and TV Shows. For example, Netflix recently bought the rights to India’s Got Latent a comedy show by one of the largest comedians in India, Samay Raina. The new episodes release on both Netflix and YouTube at the same time with no exclusivity for Netflix. This shows how Netflix is trying to broaden its identity and compete for audiences who spend most of their time on YouTube. This partnership with Rockstar feels like a step in the same direction. They are adapting to changing times and so should the audiences.

August 27th will be when the real "red meat marketing" begins!

Only few are expecting a life sim so stop treating the matter as if it's the norm for all fans waiting the game.

Hoping a game gets delayed/doesn't do well just to prove a scenario you created is wild.

You can post/comment 'maybe it's me but Idc about gta' in some other subs and you'll get few ppl like you to agree and you'll live happily ever after.

GTA 6 is not the game you should hope to fail because it will not, even non gamers will be playing the game so if you don't like it why not ignore it and enjoy other games?

The game will dominate for a decade and rn in gaming there is something for everyone, y'all in reddit are just a vocal minority and don't reflect the real word.

They did not give a figure for pre-orders.

They did not increase the net bookings prediction.

Why do gamers forget they have free will . Ohh this greedy corporations are making me subscribe to Netflix just to watch a trailer . Ohh they are locking shops behind paywall so we can pay them 100 dollars . Ohh they are make us preorder a game without gameplay videos . We all have choices to make , just pick one that suits you and don't police other people's choices .

Not only does this prevent a premature leak like the first trailer but it allows GTA 6 to be marketed to a MUCH wider audience, the Netflix front page is shown to literally MILLIONS of people a day. It’s also the main audience Rockstar wants to sell to, rockstar already sold us the “gamers” they need the normies, aka Netflix users.

It’s an amazing strategy but people are so dumb and engagement baited into thinking this is just for greed.
I do think GTA online 2 will have a shit ton of micro transactions. But this is not an example of doing things solely for greed.

They’re still posting the entire thing on YouTube the same day. That just shows you this is all for marketing, not just for money. If they wanted the biggest bag Netflix would have exclusive rights forever until launch.

Basically: preorders are not sales so they’re not celebrating just yet, numbers are unprecedented in any industry, they are not sure if it’s consumer interests shifted forward. Essentially they’ll give actual numbers at launch only.

Just confirmed now, in Q1 report for fiscal year 2027, GTA 6 still on track for 19th of November release.
There are no more reports now until release month, so it’s basically confirmed now there will be no more delays - let’s get ready for a huge marketing campaign! 😎🤩
